a fantastic hotel, spacious rooms in the forests around the Veluwe. Family friendly, close to the highway as well. Very friendly staff. price-quality good but on the higher side

Does the job, situated relatively far from city centre, dining possibilities convinient shopping, train staiont, and a car available is probably a must. Decor is somewhat avant-garde with a cows scull on the wall in the room or bathtub in the middle of the room..

We spent the weekend there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Everything was perfect. We had to pay extra for having a garden view but that was OK. The spa facilities are amazingly relaxing.

wayyyy too busy plus service is appalling worst of all they don’t make burgers, not even for kids!!! the only good thing here is the rooms that’s it. the pool is also too small. i am extremely disappointed. and they also have a land rover mini car that ages 4-10 are allowed to use but 13 year olds not. this is appalling

Beautiful hotel, not your typical, outdated "Van der Valk." This hidden gem is located in the heart of the Veluwe and offers a cosy atmosphere with modern rooms, an indoor/outdoor pool, a sauna, and a lovely garden with sun beds. Both breakfast and the three-course dinner were excellent, with plenty of options to keep everyone satisfied. Do not expect massive portions. The hotel cares about the environment, so order more if necessary. Although everything looks spotless in the morning, the staff appears to go into stealth mode as the day progresses. Restocking, clearing empty glasses by the pool, and tidying up public spaces gradually fall off the radar which is sub par for a hotel of this caliber. The gym equipment requires maintenance, as do the pool lockers, which are all u/s. There’s also a big dilemma: The hotel seems to struggle with its identity. It needs to decide whether it’s a family-friendly place where kids can cannonball into the tiny pool and sneak around underwater with goggles, or if it’s the advertised wellness retreat with pool/sauna and garden that subtly suggests, “Maybe leave the kids at home.”

Van der Valk De Cathedral hotel in Apeldoorn is at a great location, close to Veluwe National Park. Hotel offers stunning views of the corn fields and flower farms. It offers plenty of options for outdoor activities, including hiking, biking (you can rent a bike from hotel), horse riding etc. Great place to stay at whether you are there for business or pleasure.

Very good hotel, BUT pay attention to the comments about the non air con rooms near the kitchen (they do mention it !)

Not the best experience. Payed close to 230 a night (breakfast included) - When we arrived and got the key we got no further explanation about anything (breakfast time, wifi, gym/spa time, location room). - The temperature in the room was ridiculous, way too hot, no AC (only a climate control unit that didn't work as is should). The advice was: keep the balcony door open so the room will cool down. Result: bitten by mosquitoes. - The staff could be friendlier. It looked like some of them didn't want to be there at all and responded a bit rude. - The water from the shower was way too hot as well. Even in de coldest position of the tap. - The breakfast was fine but there wasn't much to choose from. Expected more for the price we've payed. I wanted to give a 2 star rating but ended up giving 3 because the surroundings where pretty good.

Be aware that there are two Van der Valk hotels in Apeldoorn, both are of excellent quality but if you book the wrong one when meeting people it can be embarrassing. So I booked this hotel by mistake but I must say it was excellent in every way. The hotel is of the highest quality and the staff are friendly and efficient, the room has excellent facilities.

Very comfortable and spacious room. Great onsite facilities which we sadly did not have time to utilise.

So great to be surprised by a hotel you picked just because it was en route on your long journey. Unique to be surrounded by so many woods and walking oaths and even a wood just for dogs to run free. I will be back in the summer - oh and breakfast was knock out good for once thanks neal
