"The rooftop at Granbell is a standout. The infinity pool is a great place to watch the sunset from. Get there early as it does get busy. Pool bar also well laid out. The rooms facing the ocean are worth it. It feels like you’re on top of the ocean. High ceilings majestic the rooms feel large. Not a smart TV with only local stations. I’m on holidays so I didn’t mind. The staff are friendly and super helpful. The breakfast is large offering all types of international breakfast options. The only criticism would be the fruit was not the best. Considering you’re in the tropics, I’d expect better. Location is great. Close to Galle green, pharmacy and supermarket."

"Extremely satisfied 👍. After the chain bombings in '19, the security measures here are truly commendable; I didn't expect such strict security checks. Shang Palace is as delicious as ever, and the chef even came out to greet us, which was lovely! Our room faced the sea, and we enjoyed two beautiful sunsets! The second floor has direct access to the mall, with all the tourist-favorite brands located near the hotel. Since my flight was late, the hotel allowed me a late check-out. I really love this Shangri-La!"

"Extremely satisfied! I was given a high-floor room very close to the sea. The room was spacious with a private balcony. The power outlets were universal, compatible with domestic plugs, so no extra adapters were needed. Water, mini-bar drinks, and snacks were replenished daily. The hotel is connected to its own mall, where the food court was very convenient. The rooftop boasts an infinity pool, a green recreational area, and a sauna. The day before check-out, the hotel even left a thank-you note and a bag of their specialty tea on the bed. The service from the hotel lobby, breakfast staff, and cleaning crew was excellent. If I visit Colombo again, I'd likely choose this hotel."

"I recently stayed at the Ramada by Wyndham Colombo, and overall it was a wonderful experience. The room was extremely spacious, honestly one of the largest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in within Colombo. Everything was very clean and well maintained, and the amenities were excellent. The room included everything you might need—tea and coffee facilities, toiletries, toothbrushes, and more. The bed was very large and comfortable, and the TV, office table was huge as well. All the facilities such as the lights, air conditioning, and fan worked perfectly, so we had no issues at all. Our room was on the 8th floor (top floor) and we had a nice view overlooking the Galle Face Hotel with a small view of the ocean. The location of the hotel is also excellent since it is very close to Galle Face Green and many other attractions in Colombo, which makes it very convenient for travelers. The check-in process was smooth, and they welcomed us with a refreshing welcome drink. One thing to note is that the security procedure is quite strict. When we had guests visiting our room briefly, they had to provide their IDs and go through a security check. It was the first time I experienced this in a hotel, but it is understandable since it helps maintain safety. Although we booked bed and breakfast, we later asked if we could add the dinner buffet, but unfortunately it was already full. However, something very kind happened later that night. My mother wanted chicken congee, so we asked the room service staff if it was available. Even though it was not on the menu at that moment, they were kind enough to prepare and send us a bowl of chicken congee. It was a very thoughtful gesture, and we truly appreciated their kindness. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a very wide variety of food, and everything we tried was delicious. My family has always liked the buffets at Ramada, and this time was no different. They also had live cooking stations, and the staff there were very friendly and welcoming. Overall, everything about the stay was great. The room, service, location, and food were all excellent. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel. It is absolutely worth the price and offers great value for money."

Everything is excellent, the staff are friendly and respectful, really valuing old-school service traditions. There's even a museum showcasing famous past guests like Anton Chekhov and Yuri Gagarin. The 20-meter saltwater pool, right on the Indian Ocean, is simply fantastic for relaxing when the sea is rough. As I mentioned, the rooms are styled from the 1960s-70s, and you even get the charming creak of the floors and stairs. The hotel team clearly puts a lot of effort into maintaining the property against the forces of time and the ocean's weather. The dining experience for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is a story in itself. You can explore not just local cuisine, but dishes from across South Asia. The chefs and restaurant staff really strive to make your stay here an enriching culinary journey into local culture and traditions. If it's your first time in Sri Lanka, I highly recommend this hotel for your initial introduction to the country. Despite the cost, it offers great value, especially considering its convenient location near Colombo's main attractions."

"Overall pleasant stay at Cinnamon that I'd totally recommend to anyone and stay again myself. A comfortable bed, nicely sized room, beautiful property, convenient location, such friendly staff and a wonderful breakfast are just some basic memorable facts about our stay for 3 nights. The bakery downstairs, Plates restaurant, and the mall next door just add on to the comfort of the stay at Cinnamon Grand. To top it all off, we upgraded our stay to the executive floor, and accessed the lounge to enjoy a variety of mouth-watering snacks (that changed everyday) and took 2 free laundry/day offering. It couldn't get any better!"

"The location is superb! The room is superb! The service is superb! The decor is fantastic and beautiful. The only downside is that the room's soundproofing isn't great. I was woken up early in the morning by the sound of the room next door watching an Indian drama, it was really noisy! And the sound quality was terrible 😂 Other than that, everything else was great! I really love their interior design and the lighting is excellent, even the bathroom lighting is lovely 😍 Overall, it's great and I really like it. There's the US Embassy nearby, so I guess it's safe? 😆 But pedestrians aren't very friendly, so it's recommended to take a taxi when you go out."

"Great location, close to a lot of restaurants, cafes, bars, and One Galle Face Mall. The hotel is well kept albeit old. The pool is great. Beautiful and cozy lobby and cafe. The greatest of all is the staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Taj Samudra is the perfect home away from home whenever in Colombo. Will definitely stay here again."
