"The hotel is very quiet, the room facilities are complete, clean, the transportation is convenient, and the front desk is warm and hospitable. The bar is very lively at night, locals are chatting, the atmosphere is very good"
"A great stay. Staff were lovely and super helpful. A problem with my room meant i had to switch, but staff addressed this as soon as possible. Pool was an added bonus as were the sauna and steam room. Will def stay there again when visiting Durham."

"There are a lot of parking places, such as the motel, the surrounding is very empty, the hotel front desk is super nice, waiting for more than two o'clock to stay, one by one, because there is only one floor, the sound of driving outside will be heard"
"This is a great place to stay! The staff are very kind and helpful, the rooms are wonderful - lots of power points in useful places! - and the location is lovely, close to the railway station, a short walk into the centre and some beautiful riverside walks. I’ll definitely be back. "
"Gorgeous building based on a century old stone house.
Newly refurbished.
Plenty of parking space.
Bar and Indian restaurant on site is very nice. However the food was too sweet to my taste.

"Advantages: beautiful environment, open the door is the endless field, classic English country cottage, bedding is very comfortable, toiletries are complete. There is free milk coffee juice bread, eggs, cereals and other breakfast.
Disadvantages: The location is too remote, the room is poorly soundproofed, and you can hear footsteps and coughs.
Overall suitable for people with cars, free parking in the front yard."

Great

Breakfast in the room only needs 5 pounds service charge. The hotel culture is well integrated with the local area. Durham deserves the title of the first, and the cost performance is very high at more than 1k. The room is very spacious, but the lighting is very dim, and the air conditioner makes strange noises due to the age of the hotel. It is recommended to book the western restaurant in the hotel, T-Bone is delicious.
GGuest UserWe stayed in a deluxe garden room, which was spacious but ultimately disappointing given the high price point. The layout was awkward and not very user-friendly—there were no plug sockets near the bed to charge phones, and the room lacked air conditioning, making it uncomfortably warm and stuffy. To make matters worse, the window/door was broken, so we couldn’t ventilate the room without compromising security. Since it opened directly onto the golf course, guests and golfers were frequently walking past, which also raised privacy concerns.
Unfortunately, the room offered very little privacy unless the curtains were drawn—however, the lighting inside was quite poor. Sheer or net curtains would have made a big difference. Surprisingly, for a 4-star hotel, the room lacked basic amenities: no mini fridge, no bathrobes or slippers, no face towels or facial tissues, and the bathroom toiletries were extremely basic. Even the ironing board was old and difficult to use.
Staff did attempt to fix the door/window and provided a fan and extension lead, but these were temporary solutions at best. After some back and forth, we were finally upgraded to a better room, which made a big difference.
On a positive note, the grounds, spa, food, and overall service were lovely. Just a word of advice: avoid booking the deluxe garden room—it doesn’t live up to expectations.
AAnonymous UserFirst I stayed in the same brand hotel in north Durham for 4 nights, and then I stayed in this hotel in the city center for 12 consecutive nights. The location is very convenient, very close to the city center square and the train station, and the scenery nearby is very good. , The room is clean and the front desk staff is friendly. It's just that the natural wind blows all the time in the room, and it seems that it can't be adjusted to warm air or turned off. However, the temperature was not bad in early October, and I will stay here again if I have the opportunity.
MMantou_chongjiThe room is very clean and the public facilities are very clean, parking is convenient, breakfast is customized and very rich! There is a big supermarket in 8 minutes walk, open until 10 o'clock,
The downside is that the WiFi signal is very poor, almost no
GGuest UserStayed here for one night staff really friendly and helpful. Room very clean and modern well kept, pillows were a bit uncomfortable but bed was amazing. Breakfast was cold but yummy would definitely stay again and recommend hotel
JJOCELYNCWas not my first choice but booked this hotel for my graduation at Durham University since all other hotels are fully booked. The hotel is relatively old but clean and has all the amenities needed (including an iron and the ironing board). Nice and friendly staff at the reception, who kindly assisted with the printing of some documents. Good location because it is within walking distance from the Durham Cathedral and the campus
GGuest UserSpacious room, nice kitchenette and basic accommodation. The room was a little tired and smelled a bit musty, but very clean and I slept well. Check-in was straight forward enough at the bar and very nice bar staff member. Several buses can be caught very nearby and it’s around 10 minutes into town (£2 single or £4 day pass). I would stay again :)
