"We arrived early and our room was ready.
The spa facilities were adequate. Only comment is some update needed to the rock effect around the pool.
The food in the Clarets jug was fine. Dessert bit disappointing.
The staff very friendly and Neville not sure his title but was a perfect gentleman. He transported our luggage to and from our bedroom with no effort. Neville was very polite and friendly. Hope to see him next time we visit."

Great
GGuest UserA simply amazing stay. Firstly Ian and his team helped us remedy an error made by ******* on booking rooms at the Bowes hotel. Really friendly and interpersonal staff along with extensive knowledge of the area and further beyond particularly Hadrian's Wall path along with the Roman Museums and Forts. The food served was amazing aswell, better than some other independent restaurants, also the Thai-cakes are a must try! The room is clean and tidy with a great buffet breakfast to boot, they also make lunch for your journey ahead.
If you are staying at Bardon Mill, this is the place to be, just a walk away from the station that connects back to Newcastle. Friendly neighbourhood and locals that shares stories from their journeys and also fellow travellers from around the world mostly doing the Hadrian's Wall walk. I cannot fault this wonderful and cosy hotel and pub that is the Bowes Hotel!
GGuest UserIt's a great hotel worth recommending. It's very clean. We arrived late but the host is still very friendly! It is really worth recommending! great place
Nnigel ashleyLovely pub style hotel in glorious surroundings. Food is excellent. The rooms are rather small but functional. By the way, if both of you are over 80 kgs, I suggest two beds. As this is Northumberland, you will find the drying room a great find. The brewery bar is really good. Enjoy the Hadrian Wall close by.
GGuest UserStaff were friendly and informative. Food was delicious although a limited selection.
Rooms were clean, tidy and had god ensuite facilities.
Would recommend for short stays for couples, friends, etc. not really suitable for families with young children.
Qqls76Hotel location is very good, convenient to visit the Great Wall of Hadrian, visit the surrounding countryside, there is a small river flowing next to it, the scenery is very beautiful; the hotel is a bit old, but the maintenance is OK, the bathroom seems to have been renovated; the parking lot has sufficient parking spaces; Breakfast is good, but dinner is not all inclusive, it is your own order, within 25 pounds, more or less, less, this is a bit unaccustomed.
Planning a relaxing trip? Staying at a spa hotel can make your experience even more enjoyable. Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort (from £ 96) is one of the best hotels with a spa in the area.
