GGuest UserI chose this hotel because it's close to the airport, as I had an early morning flight. They offer a free airport shuttle service, and I'd like to thank the driver who worked hard to drop me off at 4 AM. The room was quite spacious and featured smart amenities. The breakfast selection was limited, but the taste was decent, and they had freshly ground coffee. I'm giving a low rating because on the day I checked in, the front desk told me that downloading a mini-program would upgrade me to a 'deluxe room.' As a frequent business traveler, I can usually tell the difference between room standards. The so-called deluxe room was very ordinary and located on a low floor facing the street. I asked to change rooms, but the other rooms I saw were similar to the 'deluxe' one, which gave me a bad first impression. Most importantly, I didn't get a good night's sleep for either of the two nights I stayed due to poor soundproofing. On the first night, the neighbors were making a lot of noise, chatting and singing until midnight. My room didn't have a phone, so after contacting the front desk, they said they'd send someone over right away, but no one came to address the issue for a long time. I had to bang on the wall to get them to quiet down a bit. On the second night, the neighbors were still talking non-stop until very late, and the shops downstairs were playing music until midnight. I had to wake up at 4 AM the next day for my flight, but the noise kept me from sleeping well. It was a very bad stay, and I won't be coming back.

TThenayzerStaying at Ji Hotel Kunming Airport was an excellent decision. Instead of spending the night waiting uncomfortably in the airport during an overnight transit, we were able to get proper rest. The bed was very comfortable, and we enjoyed a deep and restful sleep. The room size is adequate, especially considering the hotel is located within the airport. The location is extremely convenient—simply take the elevator to the second floor after exiting the arrival hall. A thoughtful touch was the complimentary snacks and fresh fruit served with a tea set, which made the stay feel especially welcoming. Although the staff do not speak English, they are very kind, polite, and helpful, which greatly enhanced the overall experience.

GGuest UserThis hotel is right in the city center, making it super convenient for getting around and finding good food. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by an elegant fragrance. The decor has a classic feel, perhaps from 20 or 30 years ago, but it's incredibly well-maintained and refined. The front desk staff were also very welcoming and upgraded me to a suite. They even noticed I was holding a takeout bag and, without me saying a word, knew I wanted to throw it away – that was really thoughtful! I'll definitely consider staying here again next time I'm in Kunming.

However, I was awakened in the morning by housekeeping, who opened the door twice despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign being placed. Luckily, we had latched the door from the inside. I informed the reception, and she apologized sincerely. It was not her fault, but it did affect our rest.

LLidusGreat location, look for the yellow boards and you will find it easily. The room items are little bit used but all is all right and clean. I would not recommend to stay during cold nights - the room doesnt have AC. I was staying in room 207 and i heard all noise from stairs, even just walking and also people in room 206 were awake and screaming whole night so be aware of that.

PPsymondDespite the convenient location, comfortable beds, and all-important quiet sleep we managed to get, the hotel's communication to arrange our pick up from the train station at night and what turned out to be a self-check-in was just dismal, clearly needing more training to ensure better organisation for future guests. The following constructive advice is to help the hotel improve and for (particularly foreign) guests to note: 1. Ask for guests' phone number and inform the driver well in advance of our arrival, instead of waiting till the very last minute to do so. We reached out to the hotel via WeChat the day before and rightfully received detailed instructions (in Chinese) to find the driver (the pick up service is actually outsourced to a separate company using 3 different vans), but once we found the van, the driver angrily insisted we call the hotel to identify us by confirming our phone number - we were not allowed to board without the hotel's confirmation, which should have been done directly with the driver well in advance of our arrival. 2. This hotel is not manned after hours, let alone 24 hours, so please make it known well beforehand that we will have to check in ourselves if arriving after hours, and provide clear instructions on how to do so instead of communicating them through the phone while guiding us using the security cameras. It is not the guests' responsibility to do your administrative work (to report ourselves to the authorities by scanning the police QR code and filling out our details) at 11 o'clock at night when we have an early morning train to catch the following day. The hotel should allow guests to enter the room as soon as possible upon arrival, not have us wait half an hour while they struggle with what was clearly their first time checking in foreign guests - worse still over the phone - insisting that this be done before we could enter our room. 3. If the hotel truly wants the patronage of foreign guests, they will have to prioritise our convenience and comfort over theirs by actually having someone check us in in-person. Remotely doing so to save costs is as absurd as expecting foreign guests to communicate our details over the phone, sending photos of ourselves, our passport details etc. via WeChat, and then finding our room card and the room by talking to someone over the phone in Chinese. At the very least, these requirements and instructions should be clearly produced and communicated beforehand so that nothing is improvised. We hope the above experience helps improve what is a decent hotel providing good value for money.
