I want to begin by saying that the bar staff, pool staff, cleaners etc. are the friendliest, most welcoming people and so this review does not reflect on them at all. So we booked for 2 adults and 1 child (13years) through trip.com. After an overnight flight and being extremely tired, we finally arrived at reception to be told that no, we had only booked for 2 adults. We quickly showed the reception staff our email which said '2 adults, 1 child (13years)'. The man on reception told us that there was a comma and not a plus sign and so that meant that it wasn't plus 1 child. This completely baffled as why would the email have a child and age if not booked regardless of commas/+ signs and we continued to insist that we had booked for all of us. After some back and forth, he decided to ring the manager who promptly said that it wasn't something she would accept and that we would have to pay extra for our child. The man told us this and said that as we hadn't booked through the hotel, this wasn't his problem and that I could take it up with trip.com. Now, 2 flights, no sleep and the fact that I have various conditions that effect my mental health so much that I am registered disabled, I admit I responded harshly at this point. How can you advertise through a 3rd party website, be shown the confirmation, and still tell paying customers that this is your problem, not mine? Even if this were true, wouldn't a more appropriate response be 'You clearly have a booking and have come a long way, let's get you settled in a room and then we can either contact trip.com or help you contact them to get this sorted out'? I then asked to speak to the manager myself- the member of staff phoned her but she refused to come to the phone and said if we were unhappy, to cancel our booking and then shut the phone. Cancel and go where with what money? Were we supposed to walk back to London in order to have somewhere safe to sleep? There was no budge and around an hour after arrival, we were told by trip.com to pay the extra and they would refund us. Kudos to them, we were refunded within 2 days and they were extremely helpful. After all of this, there were so many issues with the hotel itself - street digs in the pool, ceiling in living room crumbling and falling, dirty sheets and tiles, the shower flooded every day and at one point was a waterfall down the stairs into the living room and we had to use wvery towel we had to soak it all up, ants everywhere, the list is endless and I have added pictures so people can see it for themselves. I am so disappointed the whole experience was an absolute shambles. To top it all off, I was telling a friend who lives in Cyprus and he knew the owner. He phoned the owner to tell him and the next day we were offered a free meal as an apology - so just because I had a contact, and the owner told you off, you give me a gesture of goodwill? What if I hadn't known anyone, would this gesture have even existed? Or would you have just told us it wasn't your problem? We refused. Disgraceful.

A bit older, could use some renovation. Overall, we were satisfied. It could just be cleaner.

A little expensive

Near Kyrenia Harbour We stayed here this October and the weather was just perfect The Ship Inn is in a great spot, only about 10–15 minutes from Kyrenia Harbour, which is really beautiful and historic. Exploring the harbour was one of the highlights of our trip, and getting back to the hotel was super easy. The hotel is on a main road, so there are quite a few buses going past, and lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance, which was really handy. It’s a lively area, but the hotel itself is calm and relaxing, with olive trees, lovely gardens, and great mountain views. Our room was clean, well equipped, and comfy enough. The staff were really friendly and helpful, which made everything easier. All in all, really convenient and peaceful. we’ll definitely be coming back next year!

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at The Ship Inn. The peaceful location was exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway, yet it was still close enough to Kyrenia town to pop in and explore whenever we fancied. The hotel has a lovely rustic charm, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming – they really made us feel at home. We booked through Cyprus Paradise and Kathleen was brilliant – she helped us choose the perfect room type and made sure everything went smoothly before we travelled, which really took the stress out of planning. Another thing we loved was how easy it was to get around. You could just step outside and hop on one of the local dolmuş buses to go pretty much anywhere, which made exploring the area super convenient. Overall, we were really happy with our holiday. Thank you, Cyprus Paradise, and thank you to everyone at The Ship Inn for a lovely stay!

Perfect! We just came back, and it was a cosy hotel with beautiful mountain views. You can easily explore Kyrenia’s lively bars and restaurants and then return to the hotel’s peaceful setting. Our room was spotless and comfortable, and the food was enjoyable. The gardens were lovely, and the staff added a personal touch, remembering our names from day one. Plus, it’s so close to Kyrenia Harbour, the most iconic spot in North Cyprus!

As regular visitors, we love coming back to The Ship Inn. This time, we visited in January for a quiet winter retreat, and it was just as wonderful. The staff always remember us, making us feel truly welcome. The rooms were clean and cosy, and the gardens looked as beautiful as ever. Plus, getting to Kyrenia harbour was super easy, just hop on the dolmus bus right outside the hotel. The friendly staff were always happy to help with getting around and local tips.

I was disappointed with my stay at the Ship Inn Hotel in Kyrenia. The atmosphere was very quiet and dull, with mostly elderly guests, and the staff did not seem welcoming. The receptionist handled a booking issue unprofessionally and even suggested I move to another hotel. Mosquitoes were also a big problem, and English tourists seemed to receive better treatment than locals or visitors from Turkiye.

Back at the place as I write this having a beer at the pool bar. Lovely landscaped gardens surrounding a very nice pool overlooked by the awesome St Hilarion castle and mountains. Having a two break for the wife's birthday. We were greeted yesterday by a very welcoming young lady and check-in was easy. Our room is a twin, pool view which is perfect for us. The rooms are quite small but adequate. Nice bathroom with a good shower, firm beds and good air-conditioning. A wee bit short on storage space but no problem for shorter stays. As Arnie says " I'll be back".

Wonderful! I stayed overnight this Christmas and last, staying in the block at the far end and also in the main building, in a room above the restaurant. Both rooms were very quiet and clean. I will be staying there again this Christmas! On Saturdays and on days-off, I read my book by the pool. There is ample car parking and sometimes I get to park in the shade. The coffee is fantastic and ALL the staff are GREAT!

Went to the Ship again during May/June As last year had one of the apartments which are superb. The gardens at the Ship are beautiful and very well kept. New breakfast layout with plenty of quality food matched only by the pool bar at lunchtime. Poor old Turkish ltr at 50 something to the pound good for us but not the locals The bus fare to centre of town now 55tl Donut Box has now gone but new restaurant springing up to replace same Car rental good as ever with Niz so plenty of beaches to get to. We have been going to the Ship for years so what brings us back. In a couple of words the staff, not just one but all of them could not be more helpful Senior management on the ball and no problems are left unsolved. It makes for a very relaxing stress free holiday. Road traffic noise gets worse and same the world over but it is not a problem if you are in the pool area. Really great hotel, all the staff are very friendly and helpful. my wife and l felt really relaxed and somewhat at home. plenty of chitchat around pool and bar/cocktailz reasonably priced . local buses into town (cheap) , Kyrenia has lots of choice for food n drinks. not a long walk either and all on pavements . Hotel ,was very clean ,as well as the rooms . house keeping girls all fabulous. Food , we only stayed for breakfast, all good. goes with out saying ,if you cant find something you like ,go elsewhere. we did not stay for evening meals. Pool snacks all good. Probably would stay again ,keep a eye out for deals.

The hotel is adjacent to a busy and noisy road so there is traffic noise constantly. Pros- staff are amazing, pool area lovely, clean towels daily, plenty of loungers. Cons - traffic noise, rooms are small and in the area above reception very tired. Buffet ok but limited selection
