During the rainy season, this place is very cozy and has everything you need. The room was big and had an oxygen machine along with humidifier and heater to ensure comfort for our family. Bright room but blackout curtains were effective. Views were mostly of construction around the location but didn’t bother us. The location is well-located with a convenience store down the street and plenty of Old Town restaurants in walking distance along with giant prayer wheel. Cars can come to pick you up directly or you can rent mopeds nearby. The couple who runs the place also gives great recommendations of when to do things and how to get places - easy to reach them on WeChat or in person. Having a pickup and dropoff makes travel super convenient. The breakfast is also healthy and filling. Shangri-La is quite high altitude, and we weren’t sure how we’d adjust, but this place has everything you need whether you want to rest or play! Wishing them much success with their future expansion

The room is excellent and is at end of a valley, which make it very peaceful and quiet to rest. Also around 5-10mins from northeast entrance. The mattress got heater and the room and environment was very classic making them so photogenic. The host is responsive and nice to help us carry our heavy bags to the room. Definitely recommended

This charming B&B is run by locals and is set in a beautiful, traditional Bai ethnic house. Its location is superb, tucked away in an alley directly opposite the South Gate of the Ancient City. However, it can be a bit tricky to locate initially. The owner is incredibly welcoming and friendly; he even guided us to the correct address over the phone and helped us arrange parking. As a thoughtful gesture, he gave us a box of local flower cakes when we checked out. Stepping out of the B&B, you're immediately on a lively street packed with restaurants and shops, making everything incredibly convenient.

Having Afei's help was the highlight of our stay at Songzhuju. We don't speak Chinese, but Afei was happy to communicate with us through WeChat and Translation apps to check in on us, coordinate the booking of activities and recommend shows, restaurants, souvenir options, etc. Afei was quick to assist us when we were a little confused about locations, when we were feeling unwell from altitude of our mountain day trip; and when we needed to reschedule timing of activities.
The location is excellent; approximately 100m walk to the North Gate which is the meeting point for all our Didi pickups and dropoffs. It is right in the hub of Old Town so it's so easy to explore on foot and very safe. There were a mix of travellers staying at this accommodation; including people who could communicate in Chinese and also people who couldn't.
We were in the Luxury Queen room. Our room was exactly what we needed for our stay in Lijiang. It was on the upper level which is just one flight of stairs up; with large windows looking down to the lovely courtyard.
Tea on arrival, Complimentary Breakfast (traditional food: rice noodle soup, cracker, fruit, sweet potato) and complimentary pick up from airport (included with our room type) was so appreciated and made our Lijiang trip nice and smooth. There is a washing machine and dryer which we made use of during our stay; and there is a coffee shop attached to the accommodation as well. Thank you so much Afei for all your help in making our experience and this accommodation so memorable for us.

This hotel is located near the department store and Golden Horse and Jade Rooster Archway in Nanping Pedestrian Street. The room is equipped with a separate toilet and shower. The breakfast was varied and tasty. I like the Asian corner with some congee and Chinese dumpling soup. The coffee was great and the selections of fruits and pastry were a great choice. Highly recommend!

My wife and I visited Lijiang for the first time, and our stay at this place truly enhanced our trip. The location is incredibly convenient for exploring the Old Town.
The panoramic views overlooking the Old Town are simply breathtaking. In the evenings, after a stroll back from the bar street, we'd sit on the viewing platform for a bit, enjoying a beer with my wife and watching the city lights twinkle below. While the music from the bar street can be quite lively, you won't hear a thing once you're inside your room (personally verified in Room 216!).
Breakfast is provided. On our check-out day, I spent a blissful hour and a half enjoying breakfast on the viewing platform, just completely lost in thought. The photos I've shared were taken during that time.
And now, for the most important part! If you're visiting for the first time, definitely contact the owner beforehand. They'll help with your luggage and even pick you up at the main road to ensure you don't get lost. These aren't amenities you'd necessarily expect, but the owner thoughtfully arranged them all. The owner also recommended and arranged an Ancient Tea Horse Road tour, which was fantastic! It included round-trip transfers, and the owner even personally took us to the pick-up point – I honestly wouldn't have found the meeting point without him. He also helped us book a shared shuttle to Lugu Lake.
There are so many other thoughtful details, but I won't list them all here. Seriously, just add him on WeChat!

Highly recommend the Duplex Two-bedroom parent-child room if you are travelling with children. The room is cosy and comes with thoughtful, kid-friendly amenities such as a potty seat, two-step stepper, room slipper, Lego, soft toys, etc. The staff are also friendly and helpful when I requested some help with returning the power bank even when I arrived at the hotel at almost 10pm. Additionally, there is a wide selection of breakfast for you to preorder in advance. Truly enjoyed our stay here.

An absolutely wonderful B&B experience! It's conveniently located, very tranquil, and the courtyard is beautiful. The staff were incredibly professional and genuinely warm-hearted. They helped us with our luggage every step of the way, welcomed us with tea and delicious flower cakes, and even took the time to tell us about Mr. Joseph Rock, local culture, cuisine, and so much more. Our room was lovely, making it ideal for families with kids. Breakfast was excellent too. Our itinerary was quite packed, so we only managed one night. If we ever have the chance again, we'd love to stay for several more days to truly savor the peaceful courtyard life.

I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel in Dali. The hospitality was exceptional ! The owner and staff were always warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. They offered great advice on getting around Dali and exploring the local highlights, which made my trip so much smoother and more memorable.
The Erhai Lake view from my room was simply spectacular. Waking up to such a beautiful scene every morning was the highlight of my stay. The hotel itself has a very welcoming atmosphere, and everything was well taken care of.
Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who will be visiting Dali!
This homestay is located approx 8 mins walk from the Lijiang 古镇, though a little far but the service and the staff at the homestay made it an excellent choice to stay in. They had a rooftop level for enjoying breakfast, afternoon tea and evening snack while facing the snow mountain. Service is impeccable and you really feel warmth and care throughout the stay. View from my room was superb too! When they know I had to go out early the next day and can't have breakfast, they even made sure to pack some food for me to have on my day tour out. I left the place with my heart full and feeling so cared for. I'll definitely come back to stay at this homestay if I'm back in Lijiang!

GGuest UserThis is my second stay at Ji Hotel. I feel that half the price here is just for the location. Honestly, if you have other options, I'd suggest paying a bit more for a hotel with more character. Both twin rooms face the street, and the soundproofing at night was quite poor. Another odd design choice was a step right outside the guest elevator on the fourth floor, which is a very strange layout. I also don't quite understand Ji Hotel's room categorization or listing logic. For instance, refrigerators aren't standard; only rooms explicitly marked in the description have one. What's worse, the other double room we booked had no windows at all. This crucial detail isn't highlighted in the room title/description; instead, it's discreetly buried in an icon. Then, upon arrival, you're told you need to pay extra if you want to upgrade to a room with a window. Other chains, like Hanting or Atour, are much more transparent. Whether a room has an inner window or no window at all, it's clearly stated upfront, often even displayed prominently. Some even install a 'false window' inside the room to improve the sense of comfort. There's also no need to bother with breakfast at the hotel. You can easily walk to a local chain near Cuihu Lake for their flaky buns (破酥包) and mixed rice noodles (拌饵丝). After all, the location is really the only redeeming quality of this place.
GGuest UserAlthough Xi Shuang Ban Na UrCove claims they are a smoke-free hotel, from what I have seen this is not really true. I suggest People who are allergic to cigarette smoke or have health issues related to cigarette smoke definitely go somewhere else. I saw guests as well as hotel employees openly smoking in the front lobby of this hotel. Front desk clerks and supervisor saw this but not only said nothing to the offenders but when I complained about this, the front desk clerk ignored me and glared at me for complaining.
Bedroom: very spacious and clean. beddings and sheets were very clean and comfortable.
Toilet: was a very new style and with a temperature toilet seat
Shower area: It was a disaster. The glass panel dividing the toilet and the shower area was poorly installed, so water from the shower area leaked everywhere. It was quite dangerous because the floor outside the shower was a smooth piece of floor tile. My wife almost slipped and fell down. We immediately told the front desk that night, and all they did was send someone to wipe up the water that's all. There was no follow-up after that.
Breakfast: This has got to be the worst hotel I have ever been to regarding breakfast. The majority of the breakfast items were Chinese food which I have no complaints about, although I do not eat Chinese breakfast. The biggest problem was, when we went for breakfast after 9:15 am there were lots of emptied food containers and plates which was used to hold breakfast food items. Breakfast was supposed to end at 10:00 am. 9:15 am NO croissant, Not even a simple slice of bread which I can make toast with. I also checked the Chinese food items and lots of containers were emptied as well. I then went to ask a staff where I could at least get a piece of bread. Her answer was, there isn't anymore sliced bread and what you see is what you get. There was hardly anything to eat?!?!?! I was furious and I demanded to have a couple of pieces of sliced bread. In the end, kitchen staff Mr. Wang came to my rescue and cooked me and my wife each two fried eggs. On top of it, Mr. Wang went out to get me sliced bread from outside the hotel so that my wife will at least have something to eat for breakfast. On the second day of breakfast, there was no coffee after 9:15 am as the coffee machine went into cleaning mode for at least half an hour. The chief of Chef did end up helping me to get a cup of coffee but from what I can see, this hotel is NOT ready to receive international guests.
Totally disappointed in the Urcove Xi Shuang Ban Na. Totally not the Hyatt standard at all. I really believe Hyatt management in Texas really should not take the risk of damaging their great brand by letting this hotel be branded with Hyatt's Name. The way this Xi Shuang Ban Na Urcove is operating, they are worse than locally managed/owned hotels.

GGuest UserIf you book early, you can also get a free horseback riding experience. The fee includes three meals a day, you can swim, catch fish in the stream, watch the sunrise and sea of clouds, taste coffee and pick coffee beans. It is definitely a treasure manor. It was New Year's Eve, and we prepared a self-service stir-fry, which tasted good. The self-service beef hot pot was also great, with many varieties, delicious beef, and self-service drinks. What else do you want a bicycle?
XXiaojiejiedexiaomidiOverall, Banyan Tree is an excellent hotel and highly recommended. Despite its age, the hotel's layout and elegant ambiance are still well-preserved. The staff quality is commendable; general service personnel are polite and greet guests, while dedicated staff are efficient, neat, and professional.
However, given the hotel's age, I noted a few areas for improvement:
1. Indoor furniture requires maintenance; for instance, wardrobe doors should open and close silently.
2. The shower room has an outdoor access door that needs a more secure locking mechanism.
3. There's a ramp at the entrance to the shower area; this should either have a visible warning sign or be proactively mentioned by the butler via WeChat.
4. Some power outlets appear to be retrofitted upgrades; the cut-outs for the flush-mounted boxes are rough, and the panel colors don't match the room's aesthetic, detracting from the overall look.
5. Outdoor equipment installation lacks attention to detail, impacting visual appeal. Examples include exposed pipes, conduits, wires draped under eaves, and oddly placed surveillance cameras.
**Cleanliness:** The room was spotless, a fundamental requirement for any establishment.
**Environment:** The hotel's setting is wonderful, with beautiful, elegant, and stylish garden design.
**Service:** The service was excellent – attentive and thorough, yet never intrusive.
**Facilities:** The facilities are comprehensive, including a dedicated desk, which is very convenient for business travelers or those needing to work on holiday. However, it's evident the hotel is older, showing some signs of age and lacking modern smart features.
PpinkrippleThere is free pick-up from the airport, and there is a shuttle bus for visiting Gaozhuang. It is very convenient and the service is very good. There is also a swimming pool on the roof, and the environment is very good, especially the night view. The breakfast is generally good, with quite a lot of variety. I really like their rice noodles. The laundry room is a bit run down, so if there's nothing special about it, try not to use it.

LLidusGreat location, look for the yellow boards and you will find it easily. The room items are little bit used but all is all right and clean. I would not recommend to stay during cold nights - the room doesnt have AC. I was staying in room 207 and i heard all noise from stairs, even just walking and also people in room 206 were awake and screaming whole night so be aware of that.
GGuest UserWhile it's a bit far from the old city, it's conveniently located close to both the airport and the train station. The ocean view here is unparalleled, and it doesn't suffer from the noise typical of places right along the coastline. You can easily order takeout right to your door. A big plus is that you can even rent electric scooters within the complex. On the downside, the interior decor could be a bit more refined. The facilities are slightly better than typical guesthouses, but the quality of the beds and pillows could still be improved. Overall, I'm quite satisfied. It's particularly well-suited for family trips, offering more convenience and space than a hotel.
WWeiixuannOur stay at this hotel was the highlight of our Yunnan trip, thanks to the incredible staff. We were warmly welcomed with afternoon snacks and genuine care. The scenery from our hotel room was spectacular!
The service was truly thoughtful as well. The staff asked about our itinerary and offered excellent recommendations for local food and attractions. When they found out we were going to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Tiger Leaping Gorge, they went the extra mile and prepared a bag of snacks for us to help prevent altitude sickness. This kind of personal attention is rare and so appreciated.
It's a wonderful place to stay where you will definitely feel the warmth and hospitality. We felt completely at home and would recommend it to anyone!
GGuest UserWe reach Lijiang old city at 830am after midnight flight from Malaysia. The inn keeper was there to meet us and take our bags.. Being a ancient city, it's all full of stones stairs and winding small lanes. Need to have a good shoes and grip. After settling down, Xiao Fen, the inn manager recommended us some nice food to eat while the room was being prepared for us. At 11am, our room wa ready and we took a nap before heading for more food.
Xiao Fen recommend to us the do and don't, to escape tourist traps. She is so sincere. The room view was excellent, overlooking the old city as its location was slightly uphill area. To get a taxi, it's so easy, just a 5mins walk uphill. This area only Green local taxi are allowed to pick and send customer uphill.
And before I end the review, the breakfast was excellent. The noodles was great and lots of other variety of food, like corn, pumpkin porridge, sweet potatoes, yogurt, steamed bao, milk, soya bean drink..
GGuest UserExtremely satisfied! The owner was incredibly kind and helpful. They proactively sent us local guides for nearby attractions and were always super accommodating. Their responses to messages were instant. When we casually mentioned needing a dressing table for makeup, they surprised us with a free room upgrade! On my birthday, they even gifted me a flower. Housekeeping cleaned the room daily. Overall, the experience was truly exceptional. The location is fantastic, being close to all the main attractions, and having plenty of food options right downstairs was incredibly convenient. I also really appreciated the bathroom's dry and wet separation.
