This was by far the best hotel/guesthouse experience we had during our trip to Yunnan. The room came with a Xiao AI smart speaker, the bathroom was clean, and the water pressure was excellent. They also offer airport pick-up and drop-off, which is perfect for guests catching early flights the next day. On the day we checked in, they even gave us complimentary flower cakes. Employee number 666 provided amazing service!

The host was very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is located a bit inside, so you need to walk in and climb some stairs, but it is totally worth it. Upon arrival, the host came to pick us up at the Didi drop-off point and helped with our luggage, and the same assistance was provided during check-out. The room was nice and clean. The hotel is about a 5-minute walk to Lijiang Ancient City. The hotel area itself is beautiful, and you can even see the Ancient City from the top. The surrounding area has quite a lot of stairs and slopes, so it may not be suitable for families with elderly members due to the amount of walking. However, for young travelers, it is highly recommended as it offers very convenient access to the Ancient City.

I had a truly pleasant stay at this hotel in Lijiang. The host Fei is extremely kind, warm, and helpful. From the moment I arrived, he made me feel very welcome and was always ready to assist with any questions, recommendations, or requests. He even helped to carry and bring our luggage to the hotel, which was very thoughtful and much appreciated. His hospitality really made a big difference and added a personal touch to the stay. The room was very cozy, clean, and comfortable. Everything was well maintained and thoughtfully arranged, which made it easy to relax and feel at home. I slept very well during my stay and appreciated the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The location is also very convenient. It is not far from the North Gate of Lijiang Old Town, making it easy to explore the area, find food, and move around without any hassle. At the same time, the hotel is in a calm area away from the crowds. Another great point is that airport pickup service is available, which made arrival much easier and stress free. Overall, this is a wonderful place to stay in Lijiang. Great location, comfortable room, and an amazing host. Malaysian travelers, please come and stay at this hotel. You will not regret it. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers and would happily stay here again on my next visit.

The room's location is excellent, tucked away in a small alley just off the main road, making it super convenient to get anywhere. It's also very quiet at night. The room gets great natural light, is very clean, and features a smart control system. The rooftop restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere, with both indoor dining and an outdoor viewing area. The breakfast was plentiful, and I even had 'left and right guardians' accompanying me (a playful way of saying good company or good service).

The location is super convenient, really close to the subway station, and right next to a bustling commercial area. The room is high enough that you don't get bothered by the noise from the shops. It's a non-smoking room, very clean and tidy, and the bedding is so comfortable, I slept like a baby. The front desk staff, both the guys and girls, were really friendly and provided warm, thoughtful service. I guess it's the off-season before the winter holidays, because they even upgraded my room type – how lucky is that! I'll definitely choose this place again next time!

Staying at Honglin Pavilion Inn in Dali was an absolute gem! The facilities and amenities were top-notch, far exceeding my expectations, and truly enhanced my trip. The inn's location is incredibly convenient. Step right out into the ancient city's streets, and a stroll to Erhai Lake is just a few minutes away. Walking into the courtyard was a breathtaking experience; it's designed in a classical Chinese garden style, with rockeries and flowing water complemented by vintage lanterns. The common areas feature incredibly comfortable rattan chairs and tea sets, and they even provide complimentary tea and utensils. In my free time, I'd brew a pot of tea and enjoy the scenery – it was so relaxing I didn't want to leave. All in all, the stay brought immense happiness. Next time I'm in Dali, I'll definitely choose this place again!

Very satisfied! I highly recommend the twin room! The twin room has a bay window, and it's beautiful on a sunny day! The Xiao Du smart assistant is very intelligent, and the twin beds are spacious. The bathroom is also very large. As for the service, the ladies at the front desk would ask us every day when we'd be back so the robot could deliver desserts and fruits to our room. The oranges were really delicious. During the off-season, I highly recommend this place for both its price and environment! It's also quite quiet; we were on the 17th floor!

Because we went there during the May Day holiday, we booked two rooms. When booking, we requested a high floor. When we arrived, they said there were no high floors. When we asked when the rooms would be cleaned, they said they were not sure. I felt that the service was a little inadequate in this regard, but otherwise I was very satisfied. Both the Chinese and Western food were good. Recommended!

Tonight, I made a last-minute check-in at the 'Cuihu Hotel', designed by I.M. Pei. It was unplanned, but a delightful surprise. In my opinion, a hotel isn't a museum; its 'sense of history' should be elegant, not heavy, and its 'vintage feel' should be classic, not dated. Before arriving, I was very worried this 69-year-old hotel would feel stuffy and decayed. To my surprise, Cuihu Hotel strikes the perfect balance and shows great wisdom. For example, the public area ceilings are adorned with 24K gold leaf, and the murals feature maple wood relief carvings with gold accents – aesthetics that are certainly a product of their time [tears of joy emoji]. However, they've now added many art pieces to temper this 'bling' and enhance the elegance and scholarly vibe. Even the subtle classical jazz music and the light, delicate fragrance filling the air inject a fresh, youthful spirit into the overall ambiance. Yet, the common issues of older hotels persist: outdated facilities, bathtub design, and those unsightly large pillars… This leaves me feeling conflicted, both loving and hating it, and hesitant about whether I'd stay here again (especially with kids). What truly stood out was the check-in experience: the front desk gifted us fresh roses, a succulent potted plant, and a postcard as souvenirs. In the room, there was a handwritten card, red-billed gull biscuits, Yunnan small-bean coffee powder with a Moka pot. They even pre-arranged a bedtime dessert and a crib bumper. For welcome fruits, the housekeeping auntie knocked on our door with a basket, letting us choose our own! 😄 These interactions significantly elevated the stay, even adding a wonderful touch to my overall impression of this Yunnan trip. In summary, it has history but struggles with modernity; thankfully, the details, service, and quality are all excellent 👍. P.S. The room upgrade was successful, and my 'begging' for it went very smoothly.

The hotel's location is excellent, making it convenient to get anywhere. Before booking, I had some questions, and the front desk staff patiently and thoroughly answered them all, which led me to book without hesitation. They even arranged my stay according to my preferences and upgraded my room. Although the hotel is in a bustling commercial center, it was surprisingly quiet at night, allowing for a good night's sleep. The views from the hotel are fantastic; I could overlook landmarks like the 'Wine Glass' building and Kunming Old Street right from my room. The windows could also be partially opened for ventilation, which significantly enhanced our Kunming trip experience.

Very Good
AAnonymous UserI recently stayed at this brand-new hotel (opened in 2024), and it was such a nice experience. If you want a place with lots of extras, this is it. They have two pool tables, a small rooftop pool, and two gyms—one for yoga and Pilates with all the equipment, and another with treadmills, bikes, free weights, and even a Smith machine. There’s also a laundry room with washers, which was really handy. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices, but you’ll want to arrive early to get the best selection. The staff were all very friendly, but Fei Xiu (绯袖) on WeChat was especially helpful—she answered all my questions quickly and made everything easy. The location isn’t right on the riverbank near the Starlight Market, but it’s not far from tourist spots either. It’s actually in a good spot if you want a quieter stay while still being close enough to everything. If you’re looking for a modern, well-equipped hotel with great service, I’d definitely recommend this one!

CChihuoxiaofangThis hotel offers excellent value for money. It's also very close to the airport and offers airport/train station pick-up and drop-off service. The stay was very comfortable, and the poolside photos turned out beautifully! I had a great time here, and the butler service was excellent. My butler, Xiao Xiong, was super nice and met all my needs quickly and efficiently. For such great service at such a reasonable price, I highly recommend it.

RRenee C.I had a truly memorable stay at YUNDU and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, tastefully designed, and warm place to stay in Lijiang. Overall, the experience was very positive, with excellent service, cozy design, and many thoughtful touches. There were a few minor areas for improvement, but they did not take away from how much I enjoyed my stay. Breakfast was excellent and honestly better than many meals I had outside. The local auntie who prepares breakfast is incredibly warm and friendly. The mixian is very foreigner-friendly, light, comforting, and not oily or salty like many outside options. I requested extra vegetables and additional boiled eggs, and she was more than happy to accommodate. This care really stood out. YUNDU’s Samoyed dog, Sanjin (三斤), is truly the heart and mascot of the hotel. He is extremely friendly and intelligent. Staff would say things like “去拍照,去跟姐姐玩” and Sanjin would immediately come over. During my afternoon tea, he quietly came over and sat beside me, which was a very heart-warming moment. Upon checkout, I even received Sanjin fridge magnets and a Polaroid photo, which was incredibly thoughtful. First impressions were great. As part of the package, YUNDU arranged an airport pickup from Lijiang Airport using a clean, comfortable EV. The driver was friendly, chatty, and helpful, and the ride to the hotel was smooth and relaxing. I was pleasantly surprised with a free room upgrade. The upgraded room was spacious, perfect for morning stretching, and included a large and very clean bathtub. Bath balls and a sheet mask were provided, which was a lovely winter touch. The bed was very comfortable. The pillows were a bit soft for me, but there were firmer ones available, and layering them worked well. The blanket was thick, soft, and warm, and even during power outages, I stayed comfortable. Facilities were well thought out, including a Laifen hair dryer with strong airflow, a large high-definition TV facing the bed with VIP streaming access, and a large humidifier suitable for overnight use. The bathroom layout was excellent for winter, with separated toilet and shower. The electronic toilet has heating and auto-flush, and the shower area includes warm air from above. The mirror lighting is also great for makeup. There were some minor layout quirks. There is no floor heating, and the slippers were placed far from the entrance. The electric kettle was placed on a cabinet with no power socket nearby. Service was one of YUNDU’s strongest points. Staff helped with luggage, provided room tours, and checked in regularly via WeChat. When I mentioned possible altitude discomfort, they even gifted me an oxygen tank. The boss was friendly and happily helped me take photos with Sanjin. The only small gap was the butler service. I only realised who my butler was on the last night, and one included service, a butler-accompanied visit to Baisha Ancient Town, which never happened — neither I nor the staff remembered it until I reviewed my package later on Trip.com. That said, my butler was extremely efficient in arranging transportation to Lugu Lake, with smooth coordination and reasonable pricing. The entire property is tastefully decorated, cozy, and inviting. The fireplace in the lobby is a highlight and perfect for winter evenings. During my first two nights, there were power outages. While this delayed some of my work, the room stayed warm. The upside was zero light pollution, and I could see a sky full of stars, which became one of my favourite moments of the stay. I strongly recommend YUNDU to anyone looking for a beautiful view, thoughtful design, warm service, and a cozy yet affordable stay in Lijiang. If you love Lijiang, come to Baisha. If you love Baisha, come to YUNDU.

1109332****The hotel is located in the city center, about a 5-minute walk from Cuihu Lake. There are plenty of dining options nearby, including the delicious Lielieqingchu coffee, BA bakery, and Banpo Copper Pot Rice Noodles – simply fantastic! The front desk staff are very friendly, and the hotel offers standard Ji Hotel amenities. The room was clean and odorless. They provide 8 bottles of mineral water as standard. We didn't choose a street-facing room, so it was very quiet. A really great stay!

GGuest UserStaying at the Yifei Hotel on this trip was truly a pleasant surprise! Upon entering the hotel, the ambiance was stunning, with a simple yet stylish decor. The lobby was spacious, bright, and warmly decorated, instantly relaxing. The room was spotlessly clean, with new amenities, comfortable bedding, and convenient smart devices. The view from the window was also beautiful, with a wide, relaxing vista. The service was impeccable. From the moment we checked in, the front desk staff was warm and attentive, answering every question and offering helpful recommendations for nearby attractions and restaurants. During our stay, any items we needed were promptly delivered to our room, a highly responsive experience. The breakfast was plentiful, the staff promptly cleared the table, and the dining environment was comfortable. I highly recommend the Yifei Hotel and will definitely stay there again!

OOlive GohWhen I started planning our itinerary for our 15 day Yunnan holiday, I plotted out our path to go all the way up to Shangri-la, back down to Kunming and then to Jiaozi Snow Mountain and Dongchuan Red Land. Then I chanced upon a video of Aini Garden and fell in love! The only reason we came to Pu'er was to get to Aini. This was the first place I booked, and I really took a chance because it has a no cancellation policy and I really had to stick to the date once it was made. The initial pre-arrival experience was less than pleasant. I didn't know how we were going to get to the manor and my WeChat messages went unanswered. The hotel we stayed at in Pu'er finally got in touch with someone and got them to message me. I asked how we could get there and the answer was a curt ”take a taxi or charter a car”. No pleasantries of ”we look forward to seeing you” or offering to arrange a car. When we arrived, no one was at reception and no one came out. Our driver was so perplexed he wondered if we were in the right place and if the place was open. Finally a young girl came out and registered us in. There was an air of aloofness from everyone else. However, once we were checked in, things warmed up quickly. We were offered coffee and freshly cut papaya and had a nice introduction chat with the lady staff. The bedroom and bathroom is well appointed, spacious and comfortable. We would have enjoyed sitting on the balcony if the chairs were more comfortable. I love the floor to ceiling glass windows but the panel above the door should also be glass (it is just netting) so traffic sounds from the road actually comes through at night. I actually wanted to book the cottage in the hills but opted for the standard room in the main house because I was worried it would be cold. Big regret as it is actually magnificently located with stunning views. However take note that you will need to call for a buggy ride or make a 1km hike every time you want to eat or get to the main house. If you are self driving, no issues as you can park right next to the cottage. Anyway it's a small price to pay for an unlimited view of the milky way and seclusion. This is as close to a Ryokan experience as you can get in China, minus the hot springs. 3 days 2 nights of blissful, carefree living is not quite enough. They make sure they feed you well, with the freshest produce available for hotpot dinner and home-cooked Yunnanese dishes for lunch. There are so many activities organised, from taking you up the mountain for a glimpse of sunrise (with mountain goats for company ❤️) to coffee plantation education tour to horseback riding along the mountain ridges (the view is spectacular!) to scavenging for wild vegetables and fruits to drinking, dancing and singing around the campfire! So much to do, so little time! One area of improvement I personally would like to see is the coffee serving. They tend to be quite snobbish about how their coffee is taken. Neat, with nothing else. Asking for sugar or milk feels nearly scorned upon. Coffee is a versatile drink and can be savoured in a huge variety of ways. How else is Starbucks so successful? I felt kind of stifled and deprived because I love a good latte and had looked forward to enjoying an unlimited indulgence of coffee throughout our stay. Anyhow, I love the ecotourism efforts here. It feels natural and unpretentious. I love the people and the camaraderie they cultivate. I especially enjoyed talking to their consultant 敬梅, a beautiful lady with extensive knowledge in Yunnan culture and ecological progress. Also thank you to 徐芳 for arranging transport back to town and giving helpful recommendations. We hope to return again.

NNepentheeeeBanyan Tree hotels around the world always deliver a great experience... This time, we celebrated New Year's Eve at Banyan Tree Lijiang! First, happy 20th anniversary! 🥳 Facilities: Grand yet comfortable, the ancient charm is truly beautiful. The scent of Tchai Mona reminds me of my childhood, like being held in someone's arms 🥹🥹. Anyway, it's wonderful that they always use it! Service: Absolutely outstanding. Alice on WeChat was super responsive. Food deliveries were brought right to our room, and because I ordered hot milk tea, the front desk, worried it would get cold sitting outside, delivered my two separate orders in two separate trips. Plus, it's clear they have enough staff; everyone genuinely seems to be putting in a lot of effort to provide excellent service. Environment: The geese are adorable, and the 'Golden Mountain in the Sunlight' is stunning. The morning atmosphere is fantastic.

PpinkrippleThere is free pick-up from the airport, and there is a shuttle bus for visiting Gaozhuang. It is very convenient and the service is very good. There is also a swimming pool on the roof, and the environment is very good, especially the night view. The breakfast is generally good, with quite a lot of variety. I really like their rice noodles. The laundry room is a bit run down, so if there's nothing special about it, try not to use it.

I would not recommend to stay during cold nights - the room doesnt have AC. I was staying in room 207 and i heard all noise from stairs, even just walking and also people in room 206 were awake and screaming whole night so be aware of that.
