Sri Lanka: Waves of Ancient Ceylon

The ushering waves at Galle Fort are the edges of paradise, the footprints of the African continent and Maldivian waters. These ancient Ceylon waves provided a perfect backdrop for my own boulevard of soliloquies, re-energizing me in between sighs and giving me that perfect moment to pause for a while and enjoy the string of calmness that surrounded me. I interacted with the locals and learned some Singhalese phrases in my first few hours here. I immediately fell in love with Sri Lanka because of its people. I felt genuine care from random Sri Lankans whenever I ask general touristy questions ranging from food to directions. History has its own way of becoming a subtle ghost from current time-battered edifices. Walking through them feels like walking back in time. Back when it was still as ushering and energizing as the waves. #timetotravel
