Asakusa Temple Visit: Continuous great luck, full of desserts!
A few days ago, I embarked on a small journey to Asakusa Temple. 🏞️ Asakusa Temple, this historic temple, always makes people feel peaceful and harmonious. As soon as I entered the temple, I was attracted by the simple atmosphere, as if time had slowed down.
⛩️ During the worship, I got great luck twice in a row! Good omens are continuous, is it particularly destined with Asakusa Temple? 😊 Every time I get great luck, it makes me feel that this trip is full of mysterious little happiness.
Of course, the fun of travel is not only about worship. In the small alley near Asakusa Temple, I found a small dessert shop. The desserts there are really delicious to explode! 😋 A bite down, the sweet happiness spread in the mouth, it really makes people feel extremely satisfied and happy.
This trip to Asakusa Temple is really full of gains. Not only did I get great luck, but I also tasted delicious desserts. I hope I can continue this wonderful fate with Asakusa Temple next time.

Japan Travels: Sensō-ji, Asakusa Tokyo
One of the oldest Buddhist temple in Tokyo and a famous visiting spot for locals / tourists. It’s iconic for its huge lantern known as Kaminarimon at the front of the street entrance into the temple, it’s difficult not to miss it and also the three lanterns gate also known as Hozomon Gate after walking past the entrance.
After passing through the gates, we walked into Nakamise-dori Street which is packed with local vendors for food, merchandises and traditional goods. It’s famous for its variety of snacks and we saw some stalls selling face masks. We walked around and further in, noticing a good spot where we can see the Tokyo Skytree tower.
The Sensoji temple is located at the end of the long street path, we finally reached and witness its magnificent sight at its finest. The temple was beautiful and holy, we toss a coin and give our prayers. We also spotted a tall pagoda building at the side too.
After visiting the temple sites, we walked to Denboin Garden where it’s located nearby the Sensoji temple. It’s a beautiful garden with a nice relaxing scenery to enjoy the mother nature of Japan. There are also some historical tombs, statues and a mini bridge next to the temple to study more history of its place.

Sensoji Tokyo’s Most Beautiful Temple
Sensoji is a Buddhist temple, also known as Asakusa Kannon Temple, which is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Tokyo.
What I love most about this temple is the huge wall that surrounds it. Visitors who stop by Sensoji Temple enter from Kaminarimon, or Thunder Gate, which separates Sensoji Temple from Tokyo. A street that will greet you directly beyond the outer walls of the shrine is known as Nakamise, lined with small shops selling all kinds of traditional goods and souvenirs.
This shopping area has existed within the temple grounds for centuries, and has played an important role in sustaining culture in Sensoji. Famous traditional Japanese snacks are sold here. These snacks are delicious and fun to eat while exploring the shrine grounds.

Senso-ji Temple
Senso-ji Temple is very popular among locals and tourists, one of the Tokyo’s best-visited attraction. You can also buy delicious Japanese street food in Senso-ji Temple. The deep fried mochi was really good! Super long queue but fast service. The architecture in the temple is very beautiful and serene, especially in autumn when the leaves of the trees turn red. I saw a few people dressed up in traditional Japanese costumes for a photoshoot. Remember to take a picture with the gigantic red lantern which can easily be seen once you enter the "Thunder Gate". It’s free entrance. You may spend 100 yen (S$1) for a fortune stick to see your luck in coming year. There was a walkway which you can see Tokyo Skytree from the temple, a great spot for photo taking.

Night visit at Sensoji, Asakusa
Being the oldest temple in Tokyo, Sensoji is well known to many regardless of locals or foreigners alike and many who visited Tokyo will flock to this temple to for visitation. Constructed in A.D. 645, it is crowned to be the oldest Buddhist temple in Tokyo. The gate of Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate) is the main symbolic artifact which tells the visitor that they have entered the temple. Walking down 200m of shopping street Nakamise, visitors will be led to the main hall as well as Asakusa Shrine built by Tokugawa Iemitsu in 1649. Various important events were also held but the biggest one is Sanja Matsuri held in May. New Years Day is also vibrant as visitors will flock to Asakusa temple to pay their first visit on the year. Night visit is extremely calming especially when there are very less tourists crowding the place.

One of the oldest temple in Tokyo
#bucketlistreboot
This striking Buddhist temple is one of Tokyo's oldest, dating back to 645 CE and dedicated to the Goddess Kannon. According to legend, in 628 CE, two brothers discovered a small statue of the goddess in the Sumida River, which miraculously returned to them each time the idol was submerged. The magnificent Kaminarimon, or Thunder Gate, guards the approach to Kinry-Zan Sens-Ji, its most distinguishing feature being a massive paper lantern painted in red and black to resemble a storm cloud. Beyond this is the Nakamise, a colorful path lined with stalls selling crafts and snacks. The temple is a magnificent sight in itself; its main hall is a grand spectacle replete with intricate details, and large paper lanterns strung from the ceiling are held up by towering columns. The shrine, set alongside a five-tiered pagoda, is a vibrant place of worship and one of the city's most well-known.

Senso-ji Temple
#passionpassport
Sensoji is perhaps the most famous and photographed of Tokyo's temples. It is the oldest Buddhist temple in the capital, and the five-story pagoda, trails of incense and vast eaves will take you back to a Tokyo of time gone by. The shopping street leading to Sensoji Temple, known as Nakamise-dori, is lined with about 90 shops selling crafts, souvenirs and plenty of sweet and savory snacks. Throughout the year, you can come across seasonal events held on the temple grounds. Some of the most popular include the hozuki market in July and the photogenic hagoita market in December. #sensojitemple #tokyo #travelinspiration

Moments at Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo, Japan
The Sensoji Temple sees about 30 million annual visitors and dates all the way back to year 628. Despite its claim to antiquity, however, the structures that currently stand are relatively new reconstructions of previous edifices (during World War II, nearly the entire temple was razed). The Sensoji Temple is dedicated to Asakusa Kannon, the Buddhist god of mercy and happiness. According to legend, two fishermen struck gold and found a statue of the god while fishing on the Sumida River. The Sensoji shrine is dedicated to this lucky catch as well as features a small homage to the fisherman who caught the statue. Unfortunately, while here, you won't be able to see the actual statue. It is there, but it isn't on public display. It has never been. Either way, Buddhists and interested tourists alike flock to this attraction with the hopes that being in the presence of Kannon's healing powers will rub off on them. After you've properly toured Sensoji, take some time to check out the shops that line Nakamise Dori, which you'll find on the way to the temple.
The Sensoji Temple is easily accessed via the Asakusa Station. Although the temple grounds remain open 24/7, the main hall welcomes visitors daily from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. From October to March, the hall opens a bit later at 6:30 a.m. Admission is free.

One of my favorite sightseeing spot in Tokyo — Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa. The huge red lantern hanging from the Kaminarimon Gate on the right side has become the symbol of Asakusa itself! 🏮
When you pass through the Kaminarimon Gate in Asakusa, you’ll arrive at one of the oldest and most famous shopping districts in Japan — Nakamise Dori. It’s an ideal shopping spot for traditional gifts and snacks, and of course these cute strawberry ‘dango’ caught my attention! 🍓 Had to queue for half an hour for these cute cakes. Guess I just couldn’t help myself 🤷🏻♀️

Sensoji Temple, with a long history, can be traced back to 628 AD. It has a history of more than 1,300 years and is the oldest temple in Tokyo. 🤩
Sensoji Temple does not require tickets. It is often crowded and many people come here to pray. Some of them burned the worship in silence, while others wrote a message of blessing on the card.
I think when it comes to discovering real Tokyo and its spiritual past, the temple Senso-ji is one of the places that cannot be missed. It is for sure one of the places to be seen in Tokyo, it will be crowded no matter when you go, it is snowing or raining. The temple itself is a architectural masterpiece, but around the temple is worth discovering too, either for buying gifts or having some desserts.
Tokyo|Asakusa-ji Temple
This is the second time I have come to Sensoji Temple. As a tourist attraction, there is no need to say that people and people are full of people. Whenever Sensoji Temple is full, it is necessary to ask for a marriage and a marriage. Be sure to take it home. If you are unfortunate enough to get a bad sign, be sure to tie it to the pole around the signing place to eliminate bad luck. For single friends, you must ask for a marriage. It is said that you are super-feeling~ dont forget to take a photo of Meimei. The wishes come true, you must remember to come back.
