The hotel is about an 8-10 minute walk from the station, which is very convenient for getting around, and there are restaurants nearby. The hot springs are nice, with both indoor and outdoor options, but they're in a separate building. You have to go down to the lobby and exit through a side door to get to them. The room was clean, and overall it was a good stay.
The hostel on itself was good, but we had to use many time the dryers because it doesn't dry well. After 2 or 3 times, we gave up and took our laundry back in the room.
There was air-conditioning in the room but you can't select the temperature. It was already hot in the room, so we had to open the windows to have a bit of fresh air.
The car park also is a good option but a bit expensive.
Stayed here for 4 nights to visit Kanazawa, Fukui and Toyama. Room is small but sufficient for 2 people. The toilet seems newly fabricated/ installed so it feels newer than the room. The room is stuffy in the winter because theres only a slow wind/ hot room option for the AC. There are microwave ovens, drinks vending & ice machines located on various floors. Even though the hotel is located near the JR Kanazawa station, it is very quiet at night. My favourite part about the hotel is the proximity to Kanazawa station, just 7 mins walk! Perfect for those using the Shinkansen. Opposite the hotel (1mins) is Forus & 100bangi mall with many shopping, eating & omiyage choices there. Omicho market is about 20mins walk, perfect for a fresh bowl of kaisendon!
The location is fantastic! Although it's a bit of a walk from Kanazawa Station, the hotel is surrounded by amazing restaurants. All the eateries recommended by the official Kanazawa website are within walking distance, and the hotel is centrally located, making it super convenient to get anywhere. Since taking the bus can be a hassle, I'd recommend walking – it really doesn't take that long, haha!
The hotel environment is also perfectly fine. They don't provide slippers, but since it's a Japanese-style tatami room, you just walk on it directly, so it's no big deal. If you're particular, you can bring your own disposable slippers. Plus, the hotel cleans daily, and even the shoe cabinet is wiped clean!
Just a heads-up: you can't stay in the room during cleaning hours (11:00 AM - 3:00 PM), and check-ins aren't processed then either. You can hang out in the hotel lobby during that time, but honestly, when you're on vacation, shouldn't you be out enjoying yourself instead of waiting around?
The highlight of the hotel is its location. You are right over the train station, but you would never notice it in the room because of the silence. The room is acceptable for two people. Everything is clean and the shower works perfectly. There are tons of great toiletries at the reception. You must do your own check in which might be a little bit tricky but it is not that difficult.
The only downside we experienced is that the dryer does not do a great work having to hang a lot of clothes and depending on the heating system.
Our stay in Morino Sumika was wonderful. This hotel is probably one the best Hotel (Ryokan) We’ve ever stayed in Japan. We are so impressed with their service. The staffs are polite and responsive even though language barrier. We stayed in a room with open air bath type with balcony looking at the slope garden and hotel itself. The architecture is stunningly beautiful. Room are spacious and bigger than we had expected. The room layout is great. We are so amazed with the hotel facility and everything in the hotel that we want to spend much more time at the hotel rather than going out.
The hotel is about 5 km away from Kagaonsen Station in the area called Yamashiro Onsen. They offer shuttle service which we contact them via email. Yamashiro Onsen is very nice and calm.
FYI… Kagaonsen Station is 20 minutes travel from Kanazawa by Hokuriku Shinkansen… very convenience..
Excellent hotel with a beautiful view from the window. The hotel has a separate entrance, located next to Hotel Forza (which is across the street). Google Maps shows the entrance through the shopping center, which is also accessible, but you'd have to walk through the entire store to get to the elevator. The reception is on the 16th floor. The staff were very polite and helpful with everything; the rooms had all the necessary amenities.
It was quite difficult to find the first time, and I walked around a bit, but after I got familiar with it, it was quite close from the station to the hotel. You have to go through the archway to the opposite door (there are many bus stops) and walk on the right for 7-8 minutes. It's just an ordinary budget hotel. I didn't take pictures of the room and bathroom, but the quilt was quite thick. I also ordered breakfast with curry, rice, salad, and bread (pictured). The price was quite reasonable, and it was good overall.
Always been a big fan of the Dormy Inn chain, guaranteed a nice onsen and delicious supper and breakfast. Checking in and out is a breeze. This hotel is located steps away from the JR station as well as bus terminal, very easy to hop on a bus to tour the city. Highly recommended.
The hotel was perfect; the rooms were spacious, and breakfast was included with check-in. I didn't go downstairs for breakfast until 8:30 am and didn't encounter any crowds.
The hotel provides a shuttle bus service to and from Kanazawa Station, which is very convenient. The boarding point at Kanazawa Station is in the group bus area. If you're unsure where to catch the shuttle bus when you first arrive in Kanazawa, you can refer to the location and pick-up times in the pictures.
