I checked in late and left early, but appreciated the service provided. The shuttle service is great! The room was clean and there were plenty of blankets and linens. International travellers should remember topack toiletries :)

Airport Inn provides basic accommodation. It is slightly run down, but it is clean and the room we were in had all required amenities. Food is reasonably priced. For an overnight stay close to the airport, it is perfectly adequate.

Checked in and had to wait for an hour for electricity no updates provided my room was near the power room so I could hear doors opening and closing and the electricity physically clicking and tripping. On and off on and off. When I settled into bed with light off, I received a knock at the door by guest asking me to open the gate for them as they did not receive a gate key. I a single female then had to get up put on clothes and go outside to let their guest out. I got over the lights shining into room and gaps in front door leading to courtyard with a blind that was blowing forward and basically showing me inside in any state. The electricity issue was happening consistently and could hear them walking in and out constantly. Wednesday I had a big presentation and got up at 05:30 to no electricity or update. I had to call them for information and was offered a flash light. I did my presentation with my hair undone due to not being able to use my hair machine. The owner found me in the smoking section and apologised worried he would be receiving a 1 star. I told him I wouldnt as I am in the service industry and him apologising is good enough. However I was further disappointed by more electricity issues and no update. I had to get ready with front door open and all blinds open to do my hair and makeup. Guests were walking past requesting updates, we had to reach out to them. No information provided. Shocking.

The is quiet and spacious and we had a very relaxed nights and the reception treated us well with respect and assistance.

Review for OR Tambo Guest House I recently stayed at OR Tambo Guest House for three nights and had a great experience. Since my flight arrived very late at night, the staff kindly suggested a driver to pick me up, which was incredibly thoughtful and made my arrival stress-free. The guest house was impeccably clean (5/5), and the service was excellent (5/5) – the staff was friendly, accommodating, and attentive throughout my stay. The location was convenient (4/5), being close to the airport, though not much else is within walking distance. The amenities were decent (4/5), offering all the basics I needed for a comfortable stay. While the aesthetic wasn’t my favorite (3/5), it didn’t take away from the overall experience. Breakfast had limited options, but I wasn’t upset about it – it was enough to start the day. Overall, it’s an affordable place to stay, offering great value for the price. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a clean and convenient spot near OR Tambo Airport.

They lie and said I booked a smoking room, I insisted that I didn't since I have sinuses. The lady that was at reception forced the smoking room on me and said they don't have any rooms available. I thought the room wasn't bad but when I got there, the smell was terrible, I couldn't take it. I went over to ask for my refund as my email stated the room I booked wasn't. They gave me the room which means they were lying, I don't know if they were profiling me or what.

This hotel comes highly recommended. It's only a few minutes' walk from Sandton Station. The only downside is the lack of an underground parking garage. The hotel facilities are of good quality. When you check into your room, make sure to check the door lock yourself. The first room they gave me had a broken lock, but they promptly changed it, and then everything was fine. The front desk service was excellent. When my tour guide arrived at 6:00 AM for my day trip and couldn't find me in the lobby, the front desk didn't give out my room information. Instead, they came to my door and knocked to let me know the tour agency was waiting downstairs and I should go down as soon as possible. The security guards also helped point out which vehicle was for my booked day trip. The service was great, and the surrounding area is reportedly safer than the downtown city hall and prison areas.

Overall, I had a good stay at this hotel. The room was clean, and everything was fine for a short stay. The only downside was that the room was quite cold. The staff kindly provided a heater, but it was so noisy that I couldn't sleep with it on, so the room remained a bit uncomfortable at night. The location was okay, but it's not really a walkable area. You'll most likely need to use a taxi to get anywhere. Overall, it's a good option for an overnight stay, and I was satisfied with my experience.

Amazing hospitality

I had a great stay at City Lodge OR Tambo. I arrived late at night, and the hotel was an easy, safe walk from the arrivals terminal, which made things so convenient. The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. A comfortable, hassle-free stay—I would definitely recommend it.
