Moganshan | The elf treehouse in the wilds — traveler post in Deqing

Moganshan | The elf treehouse in the wilds

It's autumn🍂 Time to take the puppy out for some fresh air This time, I brought my puppy to stay at the Mantian Eco-Resort in Moganshan. It’s perfect for relaxing, walking the dog, and playing. The experience was great🌿 🏡 [Room type: Elf duplex treehouse] It’s truly unique! It’s not a standard single-level room, but a two-story loft fairy-tale treehouse. The layout is super spacious and airy. There’s a swing in the room, which is so much fun. It comes with a private balcony with an incredible view! You can look directly out over the hotel’s infinity pool and the lush mountain greenery. In the morning, you can watch the mountain mist, and in the evening, you can enjoy the soft sunset glow. 🐶 [Highlight! Huge lawn] I chose this place entirely for Yuanbao! The hotel has its own massive, open, and unobstructed lawn. It’s a huge space where dogs can run and play freely. I specifically brought my Yuanbao here to play frisbee🥏. No need to feel restricted or worry about bumping into people; the puppy had a blast. The entire resort is extremely pet-friendly, and you can even bring your dog into the restaurant. 🎡 [One-stop hotel fun | Fun for both dogs and kids] The overall environment is natural, with lush greenery and great air. The resort facilities are very complete; you can spend the whole day here without leaving. ✅ Forest fishing ✅ Horseback riding ✅ Seasonal fruit and vegetable picking ✅ Off-road vehicles and small trains ✅ Canopy BBQ ✅ Petting zoo 🍲 [Dinner | Jinyu Mama · Moganshan Yucun branch] After a tiring day, we headed straight to this popular local farmhouse restaurant for dinner. It’s totally fine to bring your dog inside (they even provide a seat for the dog). The dishes are thoughtfully served in individual portions, so girls can order small portions and try a wider variety. The food is refined and tastes good. Recommended👍 ☕ [Geli'en cafe | For photos only, not for coffee] I finally checked out Geli'en cafe, a popular Moganshan cafe I’ve had saved for a long time. The setting and decor are absolutely stunning! It’s full of that wild, forest-like atmosphere. Honestly: it’s great for photos, but the coffee is bad and should only be used as a prop. Still, I highly recommend going for the photos. The lighting and photo spots are excellent.

1h drive from Hangzhou | Hide away in a Moganshan bamboo forest homestay

Escape the city with your besties for the weekend—it's just a 1-hour drive from Hangzhou to 📍Kan Jian Yuan Fang · Moganshan Yao Yuan De Shan. Sunlight streams through the skylights, making every corner perfect for photos 📷 The common area is great for reading or playing guitar—a perfect spot to spend a slow afternoon. The outdoor pool is surrounded by bamboo forests and green mountains 🏊 There's a thatched pavilion nearby, perfect for afternoon tea, relaxing, or chatting. The rooms feature a vintage country style, and the balcony offers views of layered bamboo forests 🍃 It's quiet and relaxing. Escape to the depths of the Moganshan bamboo forest and disappear for a while — traveler post in Deqing

Escape to the depths of the Moganshan bamboo forest and disappear for a while

I've been feeling a bit down lately, so I decided to escape to Moganshan. Set your GPS to "No. 52 Yaojia, Xicenwu, Duihekou Village, Deqing County"—it's a direct 1-hour drive from Hangzhou. Following a small path through the woods, I finally spotted this seven-room cottage hidden in the sea of bamboo. Surrounded by streams on three sides and with hardly any other guests in sight, it’s the ultimate getaway. 📍 Xipu Homestay Designed by the Tongji team, the wooden structure is both rustic and elegant. The 7 rooms are named after the villages along the road, and each has a unique entrance path. I stayed in Dongcen and Shimen; Shimen offers great value. With old wooden beams, original rammed earth walls, and a floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the entire bamboo forest, it’s so comfortable just lying there and taking in the view. My favorite spot is the terrace, where the only sound is the wind rustling through the bamboo leaves. The Corgi, "Yiyi," will wag its tail to welcome you 🐾. It’s pet-friendly. The local dishes prepared by the housekeeper were a pleasant surprise—the freshly caught fish, free-range chicken, and farm eggs were all delicious. 📷 Photo ops: Tea table by the floor-to-ceiling window, rammed earth fireplace, courtyard terrace, and the misty morning path Perfect for a short escape, a weekend recharge, or a trip with your pet. I really didn't want to leave this window when I checked out 🌿

Two days in Huzhou, half lake breeze and half old street Don’t want to run too far on the weekend and don’t want to spend all your time changing cars between ancient towns? Departing from Shanghai, this time only playing Huzhou Wu — traveler post in Deqing

Two days in Huzhou, half lake breeze and half old street Don’t want to run too far on the weekend and don’t want to spend all your time changing cars between ancient towns? Departing from Shanghai, this time only playing Huzhou Wu

Two days in Huzhou, half lake breeze and half old street Don’t want to run too far on the weekend and don’t want to spend all your time changing cars between ancient towns? Departing from Shanghai, this time we will only visit Wuxing City and South Taihu Lake in Huzhou: one day to walk the old streets, one day to see the wide lake. Nanwei and Moganshan are not forced in, so that there is room to really sit down and breathe for two days. 🚄 How to get there, where to stay 12306 Inquiries Shanghai Hongqiao-Huzhou Station round trip, first check the date, terminal and travel time before booking; do not treat all Huzhou high-speed rail stations as the same station. Upon arrival take a bus or regular ride-hailing car into the city. Living in the neighborhood that is within walking distance of Clothes Street and Little West Street is convenient for eating and saves you from moving luggage; 🗺️ 2 days and 1 night D1: Arrival in the morning → Little West Street → Lunch at Clothes Street → Lotus Manor. The streets and alleys are partly slow to see the dwellings and small bridges along the river; the Lotus Manor leaves some afternoon time alone, and there is no rush in the park. Flying Towers can be used as an option for when you have spare energy for the day, don’t list the garden, tower, and every street as mandatory tasks. Go back to Old Town for dinner at night. Introduction to Huzhou Cultural and Tourism Historical District D2: After breakfast go to the public lakeshore of South Lake Tahoe → see the exterior of the Moon Hotel and the lake bay → lunch → pick up luggage for the return trip. The interior of the hotel is not a public scenic spot, do not enter the guest space on the pretext of taking pictures; whether the public shoreline is accessible depends on on-site management. Lakeside and Old Town are not a short walk away, calculate your shuttle and baggage collection time ahead of time. 🥣 What to eat Thousands of buns, wontons, noodles, and dingsheng cakes can be tried in several meals. Don't change the whole route for a celebrity shop. Lake fresh first ask the weight, method and total price; do not directly equate "eating by the lake" and "cheap". 💰 How to spend money in two days The per capita destination planning quota of 700 yuan can be set: accommodation 300 yuan / room night ÷ 2 = 150 yuan, meals 200 yuan, city transportation 150 yuan, tickets and mobility 200 yuan. Does not include round-trip train tickets to Shanghai, shopping;the above is a custom budget, not a current merchant quote. If traveling alone, add the accommodation and ride section first. 🍃 Suitable and pit avoidance Suitable for couples, friends and people who like to walk on flat ground; with the elderly to delete to Flying Tower alternative, shorten the day's steps. There may be wind near the lake in late October, so don’t write early morning sunrise or evening glow as a guarantee; To avoid the crowds, you can first go to Little West Street, which puts the dining street at non-dining peak hours, but does not guarantee an unoccupied street view. After collecting, choose “one night in the old town” or “one night by the lake”, a decision that affects the experience more than a few more attractions. Autumn in Southern Anhui | A Stay by the Fish Scale Dam, Awaiting the Redwoods — traveler post in Deqing

Autumn in Southern Anhui | A Stay by the Fish Scale Dam, Awaiting the Redwoods

🕒 Current Season: As autumn slowly paints the mountains and fields of Southern Anhui, it's the perfect time to start planning your scenic trips. Here's a self-driving guide for the autumn season along the Anhui-Tibet Route, specially curated for those ready to hit the road.✨ As the autumn breeze sweeps through the mountains and bamboo forests, the entire Anhui-Tibet Route gradually takes on a soft autumnal hue.🌾 Many young travelers opt for self-driving trips into the mountains, taking their time to explore the scenic spots along the winding mountain roads. This route connects forests, valleys, and lakes, offering picturesque views at every turn—perfect for photography and relaxation. The much-talked-about Fangtang Redwood Forest is currently in the process of changing colors, though it hasn't fully turned red yet. The green leaves of the redwoods are slowly transitioning into shades of light yellow and orange-brown, creating a gentle gradient of colors and a uniquely atmospheric vibe.📸 🌿 Tips for Visiting the Redwood Forest During this transitional period, the redwood forest offers a distinct kind of beauty. The water is calm and clear, with the trees rooted in the water casting rich reflections on the surface. In the early morning, a light mist occasionally drifts through the forest, enveloping it in a soft haze that makes every photo look like it has a built-in filter. Stroll along the wooden boardwalks and capture the scenery from different angles for a variety of stunning shots. Compared to peak season, there are fewer visitors now, so you won't have to constantly dodge crowds while taking photos. For outfits, consider warm tones like caramel, off-white, and light coffee, which complement the autumnal colors of the forest beautifully. Remember to bring a jacket, as the temperature difference between morning and evening in the mountains can be significant. After exploring the redwood forest, continue along the Anhui-Tibet Route towards Moon Bay. Along the way, you'll pass through stretches of bamboo forests and enjoy continuous autumn scenery. The Fish Scale Dam at Moon Bay is another popular spot for photos and leisurely strolls. The valley, flanked by green mountains, offers a refreshing and soothing atmosphere. After a day of travel, it's a great idea to rest at the "Beyond Time · Starry Mountain Retreat · E-sports & Family Vacation Homestay" (located near the Fish Scale Dam in the Moon Bay Scenic Area).🏡 The location is a major plus. The homestay is situated in the Fish Scale Dam area of Moon Bay, making it very convenient. It's just a short walk to the dam, so you can take a leisurely evening stroll by the creek and enjoy the mountain breeze. Whether you're returning from the redwood forest or heading out the next day to explore Liudao Bay or Ink Stream, the routes are smooth and easy to navigate. 🚗 Stress-Free Self-Driving The homestay offers a free parking lot with ample spaces, so parking is hassle-free for those driving. It also has charging stations, making it convenient for electric vehicle owners to recharge and eliminate any concerns about long-distance travel. Once you've unloaded your luggage, you can relax and fully immerse yourself in your vacation. 🤍 Thoughtful Service for a Comfortable Experience The hosts are warm and attentive, ready to answer any questions about routes or photo spots. They're happy to share tips on lesser-known attractions and travel advice to help you plan your itinerary effectively. The common areas are well-maintained, clean, and spacious, providing a perfect spot to relax and chat. 🛏 A Variety of Room Options for Different Travel Groups ▫️ For family trips: The family-friendly rooms are full of playful touches, with spacious layouts and thoughtful decor. Kids can play freely, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offer direct views of the surrounding mountains and bamboo forests—perfect for a family getaway. ▫️ For trips with friends: The e-sports rooms are a major highlight.🎮 Spend the day exploring the mountains and taking photos, then return to the homestay in the evening to team up for some gaming fun. Most rooms are equipped with large projection screens, so you can unwind with a favorite movie after a long day of driving. The rooms are well-lit, the facilities are well-maintained, and the bedding is soft for a restful sleep. 🥢 Delicious Farm-to-Table Meals The homestay features an on-site farmhouse restaurant that serves local home-style dishes worth trying. From chicken soup and braised bamboo shoots to seasonal mountain vegetables, most ingredients are locally sourced, offering a simple yet hearty taste of the region. After a long day of driving and sightseeing, you can enjoy a warm meal right at the homestay, saving time and effort. ✨ Serene Evenings at the Homestay As the sun sets and the distant mountains are cloaked in soft twilight, the courtyard becomes a tranquil retreat. On clear nights, far from the city lights, you might even catch a glimpse of a star-filled sky.🌌 Whether you're enjoying a quiet chat with family or sharing photos from the day's adventures with friends, the atmosphere is relaxed and delightful. Overall, this homestay strikes a great balance between convenience and comfort, offering excellent value for money. Whether you're traveling with family, friends, or a group of gaming enthusiasts, you'll find a vacation style that suits you here. Take advantage of the redwood forest's gradual transformation into autumn hues and plan a self-driving trip to Southern Anhui's Moon Bay to experience the beauty of the season.

Mogan Mountain

Escape the city's hustle and bustle and head to a bamboo forest in Moganshan. The bamboo stretches across the mountains, a verdant sea, rustling in the mountain breeze like a whisper unique to the wilderness. A thin mist drifts slowly along the mountainside, softening the contours of the layered peaks. Sunlight filters through the bamboo leaves, casting dappled shadows on the flagstone path. Follow the mountain stream, its babbling water carrying the refreshing scent of fresh grass and trees. Old villas, nestled among the greenery, add a touch of timeless gentleness to this verdant landscape. Moganshan Jiangnan Yaowu Tourist Resort

The rain couldn't dampen everyone's enthusiasm for taking photos! The park entrance involves parking first, then walking up some steps to the ticket office, and then crossing a commercial street to enter the park. The parking lot staff were very helpful, telling us that parking in P2 was the closest by foot. We brought a dog stroller, but with so many steps and the rain, lifting it was quite difficult. When we finally reached the park entrance, strollers weren't allowed because the paths were uneven and full of gravel, but dogs were permitted. This was something we hadn't done our research on.

The lotus flowers were in full bloom, but taking photos with people was a bit difficult. When I went, the boats that went into the lotus flowers hadn't started operating yet, so there was less fun. There were very few people and even fewer staff in the scenic area. The shuttle boat was quite cool and pleasant for enjoying the scenery.

Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City

It only takes about ten minutes by taxi from Yu Niao Ji to the Ruins Park. We entered and exited through the South Gate. Unless you're hiking, be sure to buy a sightseeing bus ticket or rent an electric cart. This is especially important if you're traveling with elderly people or children; a single ticket costs 20 yuan, but you can only get on and off at each stop once a day. When we went on Sunday, the Swiss rolls were sold out, and most of the rice had been harvested, but the lush greenery and fresh air, far removed from the concrete jungle, completely lifted our spirits. There are restaurants, creative shops, and cafes inside the park. As for value for money, well… well, it's typical tourist area prices.

Moganshan Skyline Forest Valley

We didn't get enough fun on the first day, so we came back for a second visit! Moganshan Tianji Forest Valley is truly a treasure! It's not crowded, the scenery is beautiful, the mountain air is incredibly fresh, and every photo you take looks great. The activities are plentiful and fun; my favorite was the scooter – gliding down the mountain paths was exhilarating and safe, and I rode it several times without getting tired of it. The staff were incredibly welcoming, providing detailed explanations and answering all our questions; the service was excellent. It's perfect for a weekend trip with kids or friends. Highly recommended!

The azaleas were beautiful, with white, light pink, and deep pink blossoms in full bloom. There were other colors of azaleas in the Azalea Valley, but I was completely captivated by the magnificent scene at the entrance.
