Shantou Museum is a comprehensive museum. The museum site is located in the elegant and quiet Zhongshan Park. Founded in 1960, the museum is the main collection, publicity and education institution and scientific research institution of cultural relics and specimens in Chaoshan area. It is also an important patriotic education base and youth education service base in Shantou City. There are nearly 10,000 pieces of ceramics, calligraphy and painting, gold lacquer wood carvings, inkstone seals, ancient coins and other cultural relics of all dynasties since the Neolithic Age.
