Mandarin Oriental Shenzhen

As the best hotel in Shenzhen, it truly lives up to expectations. Although it opened several years ago, it's incredibly well-maintained. The bedding and bath products are very thoughtfully chosen, and the welcome tea and snacks were a nice touch. The afternoon tea selection might not be huge, but it's very refined and tastes excellent. I particularly want to mention breakfast – the eggs Benedict were perfectly made, and the braised beef noodles were incredibly authentic. The fresh coconuts also met the high standards you'd expect from a luxury hotel. However, there was a small hiccup during check-in. When we arrived at our room, we found the door wide open and a man sitting on the sofa! Luckily, a staff member was passing by in the hallway. After hearing what happened, they escorted us to the lobby to clarify the situation. Leo, the lobby manager, sincerely apologized for the hotel's error, and the solution he offered was acceptable. For someone who has stayed in many ultra-luxury hotels worldwide, it's quite unacceptable for a Mandarin Oriental to make such a basic mistake. This was truly a first for me, and I hope the hotel takes this seriously!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A very satisfying stay. I stayed in a Deluxe Select Twin Room (high floor). Trip.com stated floors 16-20, but my room was on the 15th floor. The room was incredibly spacious. Even with a family of four, the twin room wouldn't feel crowded. The overall decor maintains JW Marriott's consistent sophisticated business style, with wood finishes and warm lighting. While not the latest design trend, it exudes quality and is exceptionally well-maintained, creating a comfortable yet upscale atmosphere. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the mattress offered excellent support, leading to a very peaceful night's sleep. The room was equipped with a sofa, desk, and coffee table, making it convenient for both business and family travel. The extra-wide floor-to-ceiling windows provided ample natural light, and with soft lighting at night, the ambiance was wonderful. The bathroom was spacious, featuring marble design, a separate bathtub and shower, ensuring true wet/dry separation. The vanity area was ample, with exquisite craftsmanship in the details. Overall, it fully met the standards expected of a high-end hotel. Additionally, the wardrobe and storage space were very generous, equipped with a safe, bathrobes, mini-fridge, and other amenities. Highlights: * Extra-wide floor-to-ceiling windows, spacious and comfortable room with a well-designed layout. * Excellent bedding quality, providing a great sleep experience. * Luxurious bathroom with a convenient separate bathtub and shower. * Clean and tidy. * Very suitable for business trips and family stays. * Excellent location, approximately a 3-minute walk to Chegongmiao Station Exit J1 on Metro Line 1, making it very convenient to reach Futian, Luohu Port, and other areas. * All hotel staff were very warm, polite, and professional, reflecting JW Marriott's consistently high standards. My only minor suggestion: The hotel is generally very well-maintained, but if some in-room facilities could be upgraded in the future, I believe the stay experience would be even more perfect. Overall, it's a highly recommended hotel.

Out of all the hotels I've stayed in, this is the first time I've been captivated by a lobby's blue inverted-triangle chandelier – it immediately caught my eye the moment I walked in. It's so different from the crystal chandeliers you see in many high-end hotels, truly unique. The lobby's aroma was also very pleasant. The room had excellent soundproofing and a grand design. The high-thread-count bedding felt like sleeping on clouds, and the mattress was incredibly comfortable – a lifesaver for someone like me with back problems. The hotel also has a pool and a gym, but I was pressed for time this trip and couldn't experience them. What left the deepest impression on me was the freshly cooked noodle station at breakfast; the chef enthusiastically recommended the day's specials. This kind of thoughtful service, treating guests like family, is true luxury. The hotel's parking spaces are also ample, so even new drivers won't have any issues. I'll definitely choose the Eastin Hotel again for my next business trip to Guangzhou.

Although there were a few minor hitches during my stay, the hotel staff handled everything efficiently and responsively, and the issues were resolved quickly and properly. I'd especially like to thank Jennifer for her patient assistance throughout, her gentle and considerate demeanor, and for proactively helping me coordinate various matters – she's very responsible. Overall, the positive aspects far outweighed any negatives; the hotel's emergency service and staff professionalism are commendable. I would choose this hotel again for my next trip, highly recommended!

This is an older hotel located in a bustling area. The sea-view rooms offer a distant glimpse of the 'Fisher Girl' statue, though it's more of a 'glimpse' than a full 'view.' It's a shame that for such a well-known, established brand, the facilities are quite disappointing. It's also not very friendly for those driving. On a weekend affected by Typhoon Nangka along the coast, hotel parking became a real headache. Most of the B1 parking is outdoors, so you're bound to get wet in a downpour. B2 is an underground garage, but it's really only convenient for check-in. Once you're checked in and want to leave, it's a hassle. You check in at the front desk on the first floor. Out of 5 elevators, one is permanently stuck on the third floor. Of the remaining 4, only 2 go down to B2. To exit with your car after checking in, you first have to go to the first-floor front desk to scan a code. After scanning, if you get an elevator that only goes to B1, you either have to transfer to an elevator on the other side of B1, or hope you get lucky and catch an elevator that goes straight to B2. Because when you press the button on the first floor, the B1 elevator arrives first, and the B2 elevator will show it's going up. Unless there are other guests in the elevator also going to the garage, but you still need to scan on the first floor to leave, so the chance of getting a direct elevator to B2 is practically zero. The rooms are a bit larger, but the amenities are inferior to newer hotels. Tissues are only available at the sink; there are no tissues on the desk or nightstands in the room. The bathroom also lacks disposable toilet seat covers, which was quite disappointing.

Chimelong Hengqin Bay Hotel

My child loved it and wants to stay here again next time. Chimelong Ocean Kingdom has several hotels: Penguin Hotel, Spaceship Hotel, and Hengqin Bay. Each has its unique features. Hengqin Bay's main draws are its water park and dolphins. The water park opens at 9:30 AM, and that's when the dolphins are fed, allowing for close-up viewing. The package ticket offers unlimited entry to Ocean Kingdom for two days, which is incredibly good value. Especially in the hot summer, you can get tired after half a day of playing, so it's great for kids to return to the hotel to rest and then come back the next day to finish exploring. Plus, you get one-hour early entry, avoiding the 10 AM queues at the main Chimelong entrance by using the hotel's exclusive通道. Breakfast at the hotel is also very extensive, with a wide variety of steamed dim sum, noodles, and more. Everything is of excellent quality! My child had a blast eating and playing. Hengqin Bay is absolutely massive, divided into Dolphin and Seahorse sections. Upon entering, you're almost shocked to see about a dozen counters with staff checking people in – it gets incredibly crowded! Naturally, during breakfast, two large restaurants serve food simultaneously. There was a minor hiccup during check-in, but the concierge discreetly delivered four picture books and puzzles to the children, which was a very nice touch! We also had an experience ordering takeout. Everyone waited at the takeout handover point, and we were all assigned four-digit codes, making it feel like a secret agent rendezvous – quite amusing.

Angsana Zhuhai Phoenix Bay

First off, a big thank you to Flora for arranging everything! We stayed at Wanghailou and MGM before this, and while those were satisfactory, Angsana's service truly surprised us. They upgraded our original sea view room to a 'Premium Sea View,' which was fantastic. The elevator goes directly down to the pool, and the way the pool blends with the trees here creates a wonderful, Bali-like atmosphere. Plus, the sunshine in Zhuhai isn't as intense as in Sanya, making it feel very relaxing – a much more laid-back vibe than the scenic pool at Wanghailou. The only minor point was on the other side of the pool, it seemed like it needed a good clean, as there was a bit of plastic trash. Since it wasn't a holiday, they also kindly arranged an early check-in and an extra hour for check-out, which I genuinely appreciated. At MGM, despite many empty rooms, they insisted on a 3 PM check-in, so comparisons are inevitable. The room facilities aren't brand new, but for the price point, they're perfectly fine, especially considering the neighboring hotels are over 3K. The Thai restaurant, 'Miyan,' was delicious; every dish was excellent, even better than most Thai restaurants. Irene also helped us secure the only private room, making for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. My only suggestion: the price of the Coke was unnecessarily high. The food prices were reasonable, but the Coke felt really out of place. Also, I'd suggest considering packages that include the minibar. For a resort hotel, a small investment there could greatly enhance the guest experience. Overall, this was the best part of our trip, and we'll definitely be back!

They offer a dedicated shuttle service, breakfast, and a swimming pool. For this price, it's definitely the best value for money. They even stored our luggage until our evening flight. I haven't left the hotel yet, but I feel I can already leave a review for the service.

Crowne Plaza SHENZHEN FUTIAN by IHG

Staying at the Crowne Plaza was a generally solid and practical experience. Joy handled the check-in process efficiently and was straightforward to communicate with if any issues arose. The hotel's location is excellent, not far from the subway and large shopping malls, making it convenient for business, dining, and shopping without traveling far, saving a good amount on transportation costs. The room hygiene was quite well done; the bedding was clean and tidy, the bathroom had no lingering water stains or odors, and the desk and floor were clean, making for a reassuring stay. All in-room facilities were in normal working order, including lights, bathroom fixtures, and charging ports. Public areas were also well-maintained, indicating consistent upkeep. The hotel was mostly quiet throughout the day; even with the bustling commercial area nearby, closing the door provided a good resting environment. The front desk and other staff were responsive to requests and never dismissive. While there aren't any overly fancy services, the hotel largely delivers on expectations, making it a well-balanced choice for business trips or short getaways.

This is a classic hotel in the heart of Guangzhou, and its location is really good. The exterior also looks quite grand. The rooms are spacious, and the views from them are very nice. You can also go up to the 63rd floor for an even better view. Breakfast was decent, but it was a shame that during my three-day stay, the noodle station only had a chef on the last morning. I found the front desk service quite subpar. I waited in line for ages, and several male receptionists kept ignoring me or shunting me to a different queue. They were busy chatting casually with the guests in front of them and didn't bother calling the next person. They spent half an hour on pointless conversation, and it felt like it would never end. I was so annoyed waiting that they finally called out a female receptionist from the back to help me with my room card. Also, in the lobby, we were dragging our luggage around, and no staff member came over to offer assistance. Overall, I felt there was hardly any service. There's no self-service laundry room, which I think is a significant drawback. Since there are no room service robots, I had to go up and down to collect my food orders every time, which was a real hassle. The room hygiene was good, but I find it incredibly stingy for a five-star hotel to charge for a tiny bit of coke and other items in the minibar. Many hotels now offer complimentary minibars. To sum it up: excellent location, outdated facilities, and a poor service experience.
