This was our second time staying at this hotel, and once again it exceeded our expectations in the best possible way. We arrived shortly after 12pm, fully prepared to leave our bags and wander around until the standard 3pm check-in time. To our pleasant surprise, the team offered us an early check-in without hesitation — a gesture that felt like an unexpected upgrade to our entire day. It’s the little things that truly make a big difference.
We stayed in a Standard Deluxe room, and it was more than spacious enough for the both of us. Comfortable, clean, and well-maintained, it provided exactly the kind of restful environment we needed. It’s always a good sign when you enter the room and immediately feel like you can take a nap without questioning your life choices.
Breakfast was another highlight of our stay. The spread was impressive, offering a good mix of local dishes, international options, and even Japanese selections. From savoury bites to sweet treats, there was something for every mood and every appetite. If breakfast is the “make or break” of a hotel stay, then this hotel definitely understood the assignment.
I would also like to give a special mention to Rusli at the reception. His warm hospitality and professionalism helped set the tone for our stay right from the moment we stepped in. Another heartfelt shout-out goes to Igrima from the restaurant. Although she is still a trainee, her dedication, attentiveness, and genuine passion for service shone through clearly. She handled her duties with the confidence of someone who has worked in the industry for years — a true rising star in the team.
Overall, our stay was memorable, comfortable, and pleasantly seamless. With consistent service and thoughtful touches like these, I’m confident that our third stay is not just likely — it’s inevitable. We’ll definitely be back again!
Cleanliness was good.
There are plenty of USB ports (about six in total), including an international power plug conveniently located next to the bed, with the rest being local plugs. The only issue I encountered was the low water pressure in the shower. It would be great if the hotel could improve this.

The Westin Surabaya was our first stop in Indonesia, and overall, it was fantastic! 🤗 The only minor drawback was that the room felt a bit on the small and compact side. However, the breakfast spread was amazing, and the location was super convenient. Right downstairs there's a huge complex, which made everything very accessible and easy to get around.👍

The cleanliness of the duvet in the room needs improvement; there were several blood stains on it. I brought my own four-piece bedding set, originally thinking I wouldn't use it since I was only staying one night. However, my child found multiple dirty spots on the duvet, so I ended up using my own bedding set.
Indonesia offers relatively affordable prices, which allows us to enjoy such a nice hotel without spending too much. With a shopping mall right downstairs for convenience, we really wish we could stay longer if time permits.
The room is quite spacious and offers a great city view. The Smart TV is available, but it only supports YouTube and Netflix, with no other streaming options.
The interior appears to need some refreshing, as there are visible signs of wear and tear on the wallpaper. The bathroom also requires more thorough cleaning; the bathtub water was yellowish, which was unpleasant.
Breakfast offers a wide variety of options, but the overall taste was average.
Room Change at Midnight, Poor Sleep
I had to switch rooms at midnight because the air conditioning couldn't cool below 20°C. The technician couldn’t fix it and advised me to call the duty manager. I had an early flight and needed rest, but the room change took time, and I was disturbed again by a late-night call offering a towel. I finally slept around 12:30 AM and had to wake up at 5:15 AM. On the bright side, the porter kindly gave me a breakfast bag before my early checkout. Still, I’m reconsidering staying here again—might opt for a 4-star hotel with better comfort next time.

The hotel is located right in the heart of the city on the bustling Tunjungan Street, with restaurants, malls, and convenience stores all around – super convenient!
It's a century-old building with a lot of character, definitely worth taking some photos. The room itself is quite spacious, but the facilities are a bit dated. It doesn't affect usability, though. Being an old building, it naturally feels cool; even without AC at night, it was quite chilly. Also, the slippers provided have very thin soles, so I recommend bringing your own.
Service was excellent. We had to leave at 5:30 AM on our departure day, and after informing the front desk in advance, they kindly prepared breakfast boxes for us.
My wife and I stayed 12 days all up the staff were amazing the resort was clean and had everything we needed there was a amazing choice of food and a gym that had enough equipment to keep the weight down and well priced.
On our next visit to Surabaya we will not hesitate to stay at the bumi resort highly recommended 👌

HHook OneStayed there for 3 nights. Check-in was quick. Room amenities were just average and I noticed the bath towels were clean but need to replace as it looked slightly ”brownish” and slightly worn.
Breakfast was just average selections. And selections did not change for the 3 nights I stayed there.
However, it was a nice hotel and welcoming.

GGuest UserThis resort has great swimming pool and many facilities for kids. Bring your kids here! They will enjoy it for sure. Family friendly indeed.
AAnonymous UserComfortable Stay, Though a Bit Dated
I chose this hotel for my first night in Surabaya because of its top rating among premium options. While the decor feels a bit dated, the room was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well, reaching 20°C for a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was nicely presented and satisfying. Overall, a pleasant stay.
JjetlaggerGreat property with ideal location opposite the expansive mall. Room was well appointed and with a comfortable and quiet ambiance. Pool options are lovely with some nice areas to stroll around. Reception staff were hospitable.

Uuow31This hotel stands out in Surabaya for its high standard of cleanliness. The bedding was impeccably maintained, providing a genuinely comfortable and restful night’s sleep.
The service was professional and discreet. I accidentally left a shirt in my room, and the staff promptly contacted me to inform me — a level of attentiveness that reflects well-managed hospitality.
I would not hesitate to stay here again on my next visit.
