4-Star Hotels in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan

The view is great, the food was great and the room was good. The only small things would be the staff could do better explaining things to families checking in, some explanations were vague. While in the rooms they are very clean, but you must be careful bringing any food or drinks in the rooms or the ants will invade the room. Tattoos being accepted for the large bath would be appreciated as well, they are currently very strict on any tattoos that are easily visible.

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at Hagi no Yado Tomoe. Outstanding from start to finish. Delicious meals (breakfast and dinner) on both days, comfortable futons in spacious and well-appointed rooms, the most friendly and efficient service (sincere thanks to Takashi-san, our ‘butler’, but also to the entire team) and ideally located in walking distance to all Hagi’s most interesting sights. I can’t recommend Hagi no Yado Tomeo highly enough.

The hotel parking space, is outsourced to park in another place, we arrived at 3:30 pm, saw a parking space but the staff said there was someone parked, just out! But the outsourced parking space has a time limit, not self-in, in addition to the time clock, if there is an option, the hotel's own parking lot is much more convenient! Every time there is no parking space, but the hotel hot spring is on the 10th floor, you can see the sea view, is my most reminiscent! Guests are not crowded, very comfortable, everyone can enjoy quietly!

Value for money. Highly recommended. Will stay again. The room is large for us to open and pack our luggage in preparing to depart airport the next day. The room facilities are convenient (without stairs) to suit my usage as a person with walking difficulties. I especially love the ensuite onsen bath with beautiful ocean view. The dinner and breakfast are delicious.

The hotel's location, environment, and front desk service were all excellent. However! My child has a habit of sleeping with headphones on. On the first morning, after having breakfast as booked and taking the hotel's 9:00 AM shuttle bus to Higashihagi Station, we suddenly realized that the two earphones in our iPhone's charging case were missing. We then remembered that we had worn them all night and forgotten to put them away when we woke up; they were in the tatami mat. The hotel shuttle had already left, so I had to contact the hotel through the Ctrip booking platform to ”not make the bed.” At the same time, as a mother, I reassured my child, ”Don't worry, the staff will definitely put the earphones on the small table in the room when they clean it. Hotel staff all over the world do that.” In the evening, after a day of sightseeing, we returned to the room and searched everywhere, but the earphones were nowhere to be found! Communicating with the front desk staff yielded no results. Frustrated, we had to continue our stay, and thus, a pair of earphones were lost. The previous night, the bed was made by two South Asian-looking staff and one Japanese-looking staff member. That night, I again observed two Japanese-looking staff members making the bed, carefully observing their procedures. Following this procedure, even the smallest white earphones would have been visible, yet they couldn't see them… The next morning, before leaving the room to get a refund, I took a picture of the bedding I had slept on. The same scene was clear; if any earphones were left behind, they would have been obvious, but their staff couldn't see them… The hotel's location is excellent. If you choose to stay there, be sure to keep your belongings safe!

The hotel staff has first-class service, clear explanation, and is located at the entrance of the hot spring area. It is beautiful to meet the cherry blossoms on both sides of the river. The hotel's morning and evening meals are exquisite and delicious, and the portion is enough. Each guest has a separate room, which is high in privacy and worth recommending.

The ryokan was large and easy to find as it was located near a bus stop. The breakfast was delicious and the hostess show was nice, but the floor in the hot spring bathroom was broken and the blankets were stained, so it seemed like a little investment in the facilities was needed.

The facilities were old, but the room was very clean. The staff at the front desk and in the dining area were very kind. I called the front desk to confirm check-in time, but they were short-staffed and did not answer, but other than that it was perfect. I stayed alone on business. My reservation for one person was not communicated, so I was charged the hot spring tax for two people. When I explained the situation, they corrected it to one person, but I would have liked them to respond more clearly based on the guest name at the time of booking. There is a problem with trip.com's reservation specifications and I would like them to improve it.

JR car walk to the hotel is only 10~15 minutes, so easy to find. The main entrance is facing the traffic light. It has a 300-year history, so traditional style. In the lobby, you must change indoor slippers first, and when you go out, the waiter will immediately take out the guests' shoes to replace you. The whole building has been appreciated. Value, there is an orthodox Japanese garden, there are a lot of koi fish in the pool, and you can see the maple leaves. We can enjoy the garden on the terrace of our room. The bathroom in the room has a wooden bathtub. Dinner and breakfast are eaten in the room ... Our housekeeper is very professional, Also introduced a variety of food ... and free beer, Coke is provided. There is electric heating in the central location of the room, thick quilt and heating ... But leaving this fan will be very cold ... This is the old building. At that time, the technology was not so advanced. The hot spring pool is not big, but there are two in the wind. Good ~ so comfortable. Sooner or later, the soup for men and women is changed. The hotel crosses the road and goes straight to have a ”fox footprint” worth recommending

Great private open air onsen within your own little house. Service was impeccable. A little far from the station but walkable, within around 20 mins. Better to drive if able.
