What Is The Phuket Arrival Card?
Thailand operates the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) for arriving visitors. It’s the only online arrival form every foreign visitor completes before entering Thailand, and it replaced the old paper arrival card. There is no separate for for entering Phuket.
- Free: the official government form costs nothing.
- One per traveller: children and babies need their own.
- Not a visa: it sits alongside your entry rules and does not change how long you can stay.

Do Australians Need To Fill Out The Phuket Arrival Card?
The short answer is yes. Every non-Thai passport holder entering Thailand needs a TDAC, including Australians on a tourist holiday visiting Phuket.
The one common exception is an international connection where you stay airside and never pass through Thai immigration. If you need to collect your bags and re-check them in for your onward flight, you’ll need to enter Thailand, which means you’ll need to have filled out the TDAC to show to passport control.

Do Australians Need A Visa For Phuket?
If you’re like many Aussies and heading to Phuket for a holiday, you don’t need a visa. Australian passport holders can visit Thailand for tourism for up to 30 days without a visa. Note that there are a few pages out there on the internet that still say 60 days, but that changed recently in September of 2026.
This is for tourism only: it doesn’t cover work or study.

Extending the 30-Day Visa-Free Entry
If you’re planning to stay longer than 30 days, you can have your visa-free entry extended another 30 days, letting you stay in Thailand for a total of 60 days.
To do this, you’ll need to visit one of the two Thailand Immigration Offices in Phuket (listed below). You’ll also need photocopies of your passport, passport-sized photos of yourself, and some forms filled out. It’s a bureaucratic process, as an extension requires you to deal with Thailand’s Immigration Office, who are still largely paper-based.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Your original passport. Bring signed photocopies of the photo page and the page with your entry stamp. Some offices also ask for copies of all pages with previous Thai stamps.
- A completed TM.7 form. It’s available at the immigration office, from nearby photocopy shops or on the Immigration Bureau website.
- One recent 4x6 cm passport photo on a white background, glued or stapled to the TM.7. You can get these done at the copy shops inside or next to the immigration offices.
- Proof of where you’re staying. A hotel booking, lease, host letter or TM.30 receipt all work.
- The 1,900 baht fee, in cash. It’s non-refundable, and cards, foreign currency and transfers aren’t accepted. That’s about A$80 at time of writing, in November of 2026.
- Worth having on hand: an onward flight booking, a bank statement and your TDAC confirmation. Some officers ask for proof of departure, and some offices may ask for the TDAC number.

Where in Phuket Can I Extend My Visa?
You have two options in Phuket:
Phuket Town Immigration Office
- Address: 482 Phuket Rd, Tambon Talat Yai, Mueang Phuket District
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM (Closed Saturday and Sunday)
Patong Beach Immigration Office
- Address: 41 Thaweewong Rd (Patong Beach Road), Pa Tong, Kathu District
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM (Closed Saturday and Sunday)
When To Fill In Your Phuket Arrival Card
You can submit up to three days before you land, counting the day you arrive. If your flight leaves Australia on 19 November and lands in Phuket just after midnight on 20 November, you can start the form on 17 November.
Left it late? You can still submit on arrival day, including at the airport before passport control.

Which Flight Goes On Your Phuket Arrival Card
When filling out your Arrival Card, you’ll need to put the details of the flight that brings you into Thailand, as this counts as your point of entry. That does mean that if you’re connecting through somewhere else,
Your itinerary | What to put on the arrival card |
Use that flight number and select Australia as the country where you boarded. | |
Melbourne to Singapore to Phuket | Select Singapore as the boarding country and use the Singapore to Phuket flight number. |
Australia to Bangkok to Phuket | Enter the international flight into Bangkok and Australia as the boarding country. |
It’s massively popular for Australians to spend one or a few nights in Bangkok before flying down to Phuket, and often cheaper. There are more direct flights to Bangkok from Australian hubs than there are to Phuket, and the flights are often cheaper. Once you’re in the city, you can take advantage of the budget flights down to the island.
If you’re staying in Bangkok first, you’ll obviously have to put your Bangkok flight and hotel on the form, not Phuket.

I made a reservation because my children wanted to see elephants. The staff on site took such good care of them, looked after them, called them over, and took lots of photos. Since there were no extra charges, it was a really great value experience. If I get the chance again, I will definitely come back to spend time with these beautiful and cute elephants. Oh! The Thai food experience was also wonderful; it tasted great too.^^ Thank you to our guide at Katoi for giving us such wonderful memories.♡♡♡

I really wanted to visit Hanuman's World! And it was great that I went and took the ride. My ticket included transfer and a buffet. I was picked up from the hotel; the pickup time was communicated the day before departure. Upon arrival, I checked in and was asked to wait a bit. While I was waiting, a group was formed. My group included a guide/instructor who spoke Russian. The group consisted of Russian-speaking people. We were given a briefing and led on the route. It was exciting to fly through the jungle! The instructor joked, and the group laughed. After completing the route, I had lunch; the food in the buffet was varied. If you're wondering whether to go or not, choose to go; you won't regret it! It's a great place.

A great place with lots of activities for all ages. We went with our 12- and 14-year-old children. We really enjoyed the lazy river that runs through the entire park. We explored all the slides. The lines were about 20 minutes max. We spent the whole day at the park. It was a blast. We want to come back again!

We went with our 12- and 15-year-old boys, and they both loved it. We booked the buffet, which was a special treat. The grounds are large, interesting, and beautiful. There are many locations. The theater is something special. Overall, it was a positive experience, a 10 out of 10. We booked entirely through the website.
Arriving at Phuket International Airport
If Phuket is your first stop in Thailand, have your passport and TDAC confirmation ready at passport control. Your confirmation email may show whether you can use an automated gate or need a staffed counter.
After passport control, collect your bags from the international arrivals reclaim area. Take the green customs channel if you have nothing to declare, or the red channel if you do.

We stayed near here for a summer camp. The room was backlit, damp, and generally okay. However, we asked for hangers for 9 days and never got a single one! Friday night was incredibly noisy, it felt like there was a party right above our heads! On Saturday, we had an early start for a day trip, so we were forced to stay up late... That day was truly terrible. We called the front desk multiple times, but it was useless.FromNZD 95

The room is quite spacious, and the pool is also large, offering a good amount of private space. What I liked most was having a sofa in the room where I could cast shows, and the kitchen came equipped with utensils, a microwave, and a fridge, making simple cooking perfectly feasible. However, this place has fewer public facilities and no beach. Although it's close to Patong Beach, the area is quite bustling with lots of people, which isn't ideal if you're looking for a relaxing stay. On the plus side, it's very close to Jungceylon, within walking distance.FromNZD 188

I had a very pleasant stay at Splash Beach Resort a few days ago, and overall, it was a wonderful experience.
I was warmly welcomed by May, a lovely and polite lady who took the time to explain the resort facilities and everything I needed to know. And believe me, with a resort this huge, a proper briefing is definitely appreciated! 😄
What impressed me most was the cleanliness of the room, including the bathroom. Everything was well maintained, clean and comfortable, which made my stay genuinely relaxing. My room faced a small back lane with some greenery and village surroundings—not exactly a glamorous sea view, but peaceful enough and certainly not something that affected my stay.
The staff, in general, were polite, respectful and helpful, even when there was a language barrier. Kudos to them for maintaining good service with a smile.
There was, however, one small hiccup during breakfast at Sunset Breeze Restaurant. On my first morning, I requested two boiled eggs. The chef’s response and facial expression made a rather simple request feel like I had just asked him to prepare a five-course breakfast! 😅 He mentioned that the eggs would take longer, which I completely understood, but the rather unfriendly expression was unnecessary.
As the restaurant is not halal-certified, my breakfast choices were already somewhat limited, so having boiled eggs was one of the simpler options available to me. What made the experience more noticeable was the contrast in his demeanour—he appeared much more cheerful and engaging when interacting with some European/Western guests. I wouldn’t want to assume his intention, but as a guest, it did leave me with an uncomfortable impression.
I also noticed that the restaurant staff did not make the same effort to offer coffee or check on me as they did with some other guests. It was a small thing, but these little gestures can make a difference in how welcome a guest feels.
Thankfully, this was only a minor blemish in an otherwise excellent stay.
One important tip: this is a huge resort, so you will definitely appreciate the buggy service when moving around the property. And if you’re coming specifically for the Splash Water Park, do check beforehand, the water park was undergoing its annual maintenance during the low season when I visited.
Overall, I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The cleanliness, courteous staff, beautiful surroundings and overall resort experience certainly made it worthwhile. With just a little more consistency in the warmth of service towards every guest, the experience could have been even better.
A big resort, a lot to explore—and thankfully, plenty of buggies to save our feet! 😄FromNZD 148

The hotel reception and staff were very friendly and helpful. I especially appreciated their thoughtfulness in turning on the fans for us while we were waiting for our Grab in the hot weather.

Phuket Coconut Resort boasts an excellent location, just an 11-minute walk to Jungceylon Shopping Center and Banzaan Fresh Market, and not far from Patong Beach. The resort has 2 pools, and most rooms are pool-access. The price before Chinese New Year was 440 a night, which is decent value for money. It's very close to Rawai Beach, with a 7-Eleven and sea-view restaurants right outside. Now for the downsides: 1. No clothes rack in the room, so no way to wash and dry clothes. 2. The hotel doesn't offer breakfast. 3. For a family of three, there's an extra charge of 150 THB for the child, but no extra bed is provided. 4. I subtly got the feeling that Chinese guests aren't particularly welcome. This is just my personal feeling and for reference only.FromNZD 74

I've stayed at this hotel many times, but this was by far the worst experience. I was traveling with my child and, due to a schedule change, I had to book two separate orders for different room types. I explained the situation to the front desk and asked if I could upgrade my room by paying the difference. The front desk lady, seeing the booking, seemed to sense an opportunity to make more money. She then rattled off a bunch of reasons to charge me extra for my child: an extra bed fee, an extra breakfast fee, and a room upgrade fee – totaling 5000 baht for four days! When I checked the app, I realized that for just a few tens of extra bucks, I could have booked a whole new room. The hotel's breakfast fee also shot up from 250 baht to 470 baht per person, with no significant improvement in quality. I really want to ask the hotel, do you have to be so obviously greedy?FromNZD 101

Compared to other family rooms with breakfast during the high season in Patong Beach, this one offers great value for money. I'm not nitpicky, so overall, I'd say it's a good place.
Upon arrival, I took the airport mini-bus. I tracked my location on a map and showed the driver my hotel when we were near, so the bus stopped at the street corner leading to the hotel, and we walked in. For departure, grabbing a Grab taxi was convenient.
The breakfast was quite plentiful, and the fried rice was delicious. There were many Caucasians and a good number of Asians, and I didn't feel any discrimination, though we did have to pay a deposit upon check-in (I'm not sure if other nationalities do as well). The front desk staff spoke a little Chinese, and check-in and check-out were seamless.
The room had two large beds on a tatami mat. While not super spacious, there was enough room to open two large suitcases. It had a balcony with a view, and the room wasn't damp. The tap water had a slight odor (compared to another hotel where the tap water was much better). Downstairs, there are many massage parlors, restaurants, and bars, making it a quiet oasis in Patong. The pool didn't have a slide, so there wasn't much for kids to do.
It's about a ten-minute walk to the beach and Jungceylon shopping mall. We had all our main meals at Jungceylon, which offered many choices. Some discounted items in the mall were even cheaper than in Bangkok.FromNZD 117

I stayed here ten years ago. Perhaps due to some Chinese superstitions, there weren't many Chinese guests, and breakfast was primarily Western-style. Of course, the room facilities can't compare to newly opened hotels in China, given that this is an established resort. Aside from that, the resort ambiance was fantastic. On the day we checked in, which was my child's birthday, they thoughtfully sent a birthday cake while we were out – a nice little surprise.
The hotel is situated in a quiet yet central location in Patong. The pool is huge, offering expansive views directly facing the sea. On clear days, you can watch the sunset from the pool. It's separated from the beach by just a small road, making it very convenient for beach activities or simply relaxing. We stayed in a swim-up room for two nights, which felt more like a private pool. However, with kids, we preferred the main pool, mainly for the better views. We basically spent our days by the pool and evenings at the beach. There's a good massage place and restaurant right by the hotel's main entrance. They're next to each other, and the restaurant, belonging to the neighboring hotel, has a trendy, Instagrammable vibe and is popular with many foreigners. If the hotel breakfast isn't to your liking, you can have brunch there; we ate there several times and also had massages for a few days straight. This trip, we stayed in both Karon and Patong, but next time, I'd only choose Patong – it's much more convenient for going out and exploring.FromNZD 183

Phuket's Layan Beach | Living the Thai Dream at Anantara 🌴
**About the Environment and Rooms**
The hotel's design embodies a 'modern Thai Zen' aesthetic. The lobby boasts a soaring, high ceiling with a wooden dome and crystal chandeliers, exuding a sense of quality. Throughout the hallways, you'll discover intricate handcrafted wooden carvings and textiles from Southern Thailand, showcasing meticulous attention to detail.
But the real highlight is the guest rooms! Most come with either a private pool or a large terrace. Open the floor-to-ceiling windows and you're greeted by endless blue sea and white sands – the view is absolutely breathtaking. Inside, the rooms feature rattan furniture and linen fabrics, with hand-painted wave patterns above the bed. These natural materials truly evoke a tropical island getaway vibe. The public areas are also enveloped by lush tropical plants, and the pool connects directly to the beach. Sitting in a thatched-roof pavilion in the evening, watching the orange-red sunset spread across the ocean, is incredibly therapeutic.
🚗 **Transportation & Surroundings**
Located on the north side of Layan Beach, it's about a 25-minute drive from Phuket International Airport. Getting to Karon or Kata Beach also takes around 30 minutes, so transportation is quite convenient.
What's more, the area feels very lively. The Layan Night Market (open Fridays and Saturdays) is right next door, just a 10-minute walk away. It's incredibly convenient for an evening stroll and trying local street food, so you don't necessarily have to dine at the hotel. That's a huge plus!FromNZD 1,016

The room had all the necessary amenities, and it was very convenient for my workout routine. The only downside was that the swimming pool was undergoing upgrade and maintenance during my stay, which caused some noise and affected the view. However, the staff informed me about it beforehand. We were a family of four and overall had a very satisfying stay.
Pros: Great pool facilities—the kids absolutely loved it. The location is very convenient with plenty of restaurants and massage parlors nearby, and it's just 100 meters to the beach.
Cons: The ground floor was indeed damp. The Family Double Queen Room had no view outside the window, just the hotel's back wall. While the breakfast had a good variety, the quality was just average.FromNZD 148

The hotel has buffet breakfast but it has definitely downsized since 2023 so don’t expect much variety. Their food is good for in-room dining and the pools are well-maintained. The cleanliness was definitely the biggest failure in terms of “value for money” considering there is a slimy/sticky residue whenever any sort of moisture meets the floor (coming out of the shower/sweaty from hot weather/coming inside from the balcony bath) and the towels have noticeable stains in them. The bathroom sink only had hot water and the toilet was disgusting - flushing water had a sewage smell. The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly - going beyond to help out. Overall, though, the hotel has a “run down” feeling and an atmosphere of neglect in maintenance. The plumbing in our room (sink & toilet water) could be due to lack of use but it’s still a shame to spend that much money and receive a mediocre room experience.FromNZD 97

A cozy, medium-sized hotel shaped like a cruise ship. The definite highlight of this hotel is the infinity pool on the rooftop, offering a fantastic view of the city and the sea, especially at night. A DJ entertains guests with music by the pool in the evening. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The only downside for me was having a bathtub instead of a shower. The fridge only contained paid bar drinks. You can walk from the hotel to the beach, passing countless cafes, restaurants, massage parlors, and convenience stores along the way. There are several Russian-speaking channels on the TV. The price is reasonable. I recommend it.FromNZD 113

The hotel is located on a very busy road, making walking to nearby cafes feel a bit dangerous. The sea view rooms have a nice view and there are ear plugs in the room for the constant road noise. Unfortunately, enjoying the balcony is difficult to enjoy due to the noise and the sewer smell.
The infinity pool is lovely, and drinks prices are reasonable for chair service. Rooms are nicely decorated, the beds are comfortable and the shower is very nice with great pressure. But, I wouldn't stay again due to the road noise.FromNZD 216

Honestly, this was the best place we stayed during our two weeks in Phuket! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious, filling, and catered well to our needs. We also had the comfiest bed, which made it so hard to leave each morning!
The pool was absolutely amazing and perfect for relaxing. My partner and I had the most wonderful and convenient stay, and we truly enjoyed every moment here.
Thank you for such an amazing experience. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Phuket and would happily stay again!FromNZD 73

The Pool Access Deluxe Room is a two-story townhouse. Staying on the lower level gives direct access to the pool, while the upper level should probably be called a Pool View Deluxe Room. There's a guard booth at the hotel entrance with a phone, and a 24-hour shuttle service to the street corner at the hotel's main entrance, otherwise, it's a walk. There are 7-Eleven stores on both the left and right; the one on the right is closer and has more food options, though it's certainly a far cry from Bangkok. There are a lot of Russians, and Russian is spoken everywhere. The hotel breakfast is decent, pretty standard – a bit of everything, with constantly replenished Chinese dishes, a solid selection of breads, and curries. I'd suggest adding some Thai beef noodles and Vietnamese pho. The front desk, to be honest, was quite perfunctory. At check-in, they only briefly explained things, which is clearly inadequate for a five-star hotel; you have to figure things out yourself.FromNZD 195

I saw a lot of mixed reviews online, but perhaps because I stayed in Building A, I was quite satisfied with everything. Pros: Close to the city center, but since it's not on the main road, it's not too noisy. The staff are warm and provide good service. The pool is clean, and room cleaning was done even when we didn't request it.
Cons: We were given a room furthest from the pool, which is both a pro and a con—it's quieter, but there was a damp, musty smell upon entering. A major drawback of the rooms near the pool is the extremely high number of mosquitoes; we killed five or six right after entering and had to borrow mosquito repellent from the front desk. Being at the end of the hallway, the Wi-Fi was exceptionally poor and constantly dropped, and our mobile data signal was frequently weak as well. The upper and lower floors are not soundproofed; dragging chairs upstairs was very noisy. It feels like the hotel is quite old, so the air conditioning unit is very loud.
Overall: It seems that all hotels in Phuket have their own flaws, but this one is acceptable to me. Since I always carry my cash and passport with me and lock my valuables in the suitcase, nothing was stolen.FromNZD 145

The hotel is nestled halfway up a mountain, and the overall environment feels like a tropical rainforest, very wild and natural. The room was quite spacious, with excellent facilities and water quality. Its location is indeed a bit inconvenient, being some distance from the beach and shops. However, the hotel itself boasts numerous pools and restaurants, and shuttle service is quick. The hotel breakfast was plentiful and delicious, with a rotating menu daily. The only minor drawback is the slightly poor soundproofing in the rooms; I could hear conversations from the adjacent room at night, which was a bit disruptive. Wonderful resort. Clean and tidy with good amenities. The breakfast was amazing. The restaurant food was also good. The Indian food at the restaurant was top notch. Pros: The jungle view room is essentially a private villa, offering excellent privacy with a beautiful tropical rainforest view. The hotel provides direct access to the beach, and it's also conveniently located for shopping and strolling outside.
Cons: Aside from a creatively designed but otherwise rather ordinary pool, the hotel practically lacks any other amenities or services. You can sit by the pool, but no one offers you a glass of iced water or a towel. For a hotel costing 1300 RMB a night, this is a significant drawback. Compared to many other Southeast Asian hotels I've stayed at in the same price range, this one performs poorly; there are many hotels with better value for money at this price point and location.
To put it simply, this hotel has almost no supporting services. Breakfast isn't even served in the cliffside restaurant, which would better showcase the hotel's advantages, as it has been converted into a bar. The complimentary breakfast at the Red Chopsticks restaurant by the entrance was very mediocre, and I only ate there once.FromNZD 360

Here's my honest review! Overall: Recommended.
Pros:
1. The hotel is relatively new, and the interior, including the very popular rooftop pool, is beautifully designed and aesthetically pleasing.
2. The room type I booked was very large and spacious, with a separate refrigerator and counter, which was very comfortable.
3. The hotel breakfast was incredibly rich and varied, with a wide range of options. It's served until 11 AM, making it perfect for those who want to sleep in and have brunch, or wake up early, take photos and swim at the pool, and then enjoy breakfast.
4. It's an adults-only hotel, which is ideal for guests like me who prefer not to deal with noisy children during their vacation. The entire hotel is very quiet.
5. There's a Let's Relax spa located within the hotel, which is very convenient.
Cons:
1. The large slope at the entrance is genuinely steep. I'd read about it in other reviews, but didn't truly grasp it until I saw it (please refer to the attached photos). It's incredibly strenuous, and you definitely can't walk up it with luggage.
2. After going down the slope, it's not far to the beach and 7-Eleven, but it's quite a distance from the commercial area of Kata Beach, making it feel rather secluded.
In summary, this hotel is a great choice for those who prefer new facilities, enjoy a quiet hotel stay, and like leisurely beach walks. However, it's not suitable for those who want immediate access to shopping, or prefer a lively nightlife with bars.FromNZD 116

The hotel is a bit dated. Although the common areas use central air conditioning, our smaller room had an individual AC unit. It was incredibly noisy, making it hard to sleep, and definitely needs replacing.
Breakfast was decent, and the hotel's overall environment was okay. However, try to avoid the side near the corridor, as there's an unfinished building that looks quite eerie.
There are two Thai restaurants within a 5-minute walk of the hotel entrance, one to the left and one to the right. The one on the left is better and accepts WeChat Pay, though it charges a 3% service fee.
We chose this hotel mainly for its proximity to the airport, as we had a Similan Islands day trip scheduled for the next day. Staying here allowed us to wake up at least an hour later than if we had stayed at beaches like Patong.
We also noticed many flight attendants staying at the hotel during breakfast.FromNZD 187

We were asked to pay a 1,000 Baht deposit at check-in, even though this wasn't mentioned anywhere. We also had to wait for our room to be ready, despite arriving an hour later than the check-in time stated on our voucher. The hotel itself is nice, and the breakfasts are pretty good.FromNZD 126
