Qingdao Metro Map & Key Lines

The Qingdao Metro currently operates 8 fully developed lines covering more than 352 kilometers with 172 stations. These lines reach urban areas, popular coastal tourist zones, and outer suburban regions. • Line 1 (Yellow): Cross-bay main line. Crossing Jiaozhou Bay, it connects Qingdao’s old downtown, main railway stations, Zhanqiao Pier, and Taidong Night Market.
• Line 2 (Red): A coastal sightseeing route that runs along the southern waterfront, serving May 4th Square, the Olympic Sailing Center, and Shilaoren Beach. The Tsingtao Beer Museum is just a short 10–15-minute walk from nearby stations.

Qingdao Metro Operating Hours

Most metro services start running between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. The majority of lines wrap up their final services between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. local time.

Times vary slightly between individual lines and stations, so if you're planning some late-evening sightseeing, always check the last-train departure times posted on the station information boards before you head out.

Line 8 airport services finish relatively early, with the final trains leaving Jiaodong Airport around 10:00 p.m. local time. If your flight lands very late at night after metro services have closed, you will need to take a taxi or private car service into the city.

The Qingdao Metro uses a distance-based fare system. A single-journey ticket starts at ¥2 (about $0.5 AUD) per trip.
