This hotel boasts an excellent location right by Putney Bridge, making it super convenient to get around. There's a Waitrose supermarket next door and plenty of restaurants nearby. The hotel itself is quite new, with a clean and minimalist decor – not luxurious, but very comfortable. I'd give full marks to the service in the ground floor restaurant; the staff were incredibly enthusiastic and accommodating, and the food was plentiful and delicious. My only slight complaint is that the shower stall was a bit narrow. Even for someone who isn't particularly big, turning around felt quite awkward; I'd estimate it's only about 60-70 cm wide. Everything else was perfect, though! I had a wonderful three days here.

Sold as a 5 star hotel and although it did look good from the outside,the inside was very dated and lacking tlc.the bathroom had what looked like black mould around the wall furniture and the sink had been covered in a wrap which was torn and some of the metal fixtures where corroded.the breakfast took over an hour as they seemed to take precedents over vips in the dining room who got food very quickly.from sitting down to receiving our breakfast took an hour both days.the staff where very apologetic but that does t make up for poor service and the quality was average.The Spa was also dated and the Gym was small with very little in it for a proper workout.

The location was amazing and easy by walking in town, meet the hotel standards on cleanliness, service and location. staff is very friendly with smile especially on the breakfast time, they are really helpful. However I have booked for 2 nights with the city view queen bed room, but It’s no city view at all. Also, this room is on the upper ground floor and nearby the storage cleaning room is not the good idea for customer especially on the early morning time. The problem is the room always has a terrible noise all the time which make me terrible and can’t sleep well when I am being on the room. I have requested the room which away from elevators and good view before booking but not get anything at all.

We booked 2 nights for a relaxing spa weekend. Based on it being a spa hotel. We planned on staying in the hotel for the whole weekend.  When we arrived we were told there was no restaurant or bar we can use as it’s only used for events.  We then had some lunch in the spa cafe. Food was ok. Service was terrible.  We then went to the room as we were able to check in. The cleaner was still there. Very apologetic extremely polite and lovely. The room was absolutely wonderful. Large bedroom bathroom and living room.  We went out and found a pub for food. When we returned to relax in the room we found the party was directly below us and in full swing. Very loud and noisy and the smoking area was right outside our window. We called reception but they were fully booked. Glad to say it all stopped at midnight.  We went down to breakfast at 9.30. Not much left and the full breakfast was cold. When we questioned it we were just told”well it has been there since 7” it had just sat on the side in silver trays for 2.5 hours, no heat or option to reheat. It wasn’t edible.  We skipped breakfast that we paid for on the second day.  We then thought we would spend some time in the spa. Ha! Well the pool is small, no where to relax just a couple of plastic chairs, not a spa at all. It had a very small sauna and steam room. The jacuzzi didn’t work it was just a pool of cloudy water with a few bubbles.  Would not recommend. Seems it used to be and could be a wonderful place to be but has been taken over and lost its sole. Such a shame as the building and grounds are wonderful.  I have to add the cleaning staff and lady on reception were wonderful, welcoming and friendly.

This is a bit out of the way but OK if you are touring the area. A rather faded Edwardian large hotel that is in need of a bit of renovation and redecoration to bring it up to standard. Our room was a bit small and showing its age. The staff were friendly

The location is incredibly convenient. It's only a few minutes' walk to the train station, and even closer to the Roman Baths and the Abbey – just a three-minute stroll. The breakfast was excellent, and the service was great too.

The room got upgraded to a bigger room. There was both a bath and a shower. There was a fridge too. There was hardly any noise from the road outside. The bedroom doors opening and closing were very noisy. The gym was standard for a hotel. The pool was open until 10, with a need to reserve a slot - no issues found with this. The steam room was undergoing renovation, but the sauna was available. The TV worked fine, but it's not one where you can cast to it. The air con worked fine.

I love Charlton house, it was really quirky. The way it has been styled is really unusual. It makes you feel like you're in a bit of a fantasy world with the little corridors and quirky little nooks and crannies. For me it fit the bill, it did the job that I needed but I understand for those people that do not get it on an offer and pay a lot of money to stay there I understand how they might say that it's a bit dirty a bit tired a bit grubby and needs a bit of TLC. There seemed to be one very sweet man that was running around doing pretty much everything and the rest of the staff were hidden behind doors or just not there. I'm not sure. There were staff present in the spa and they were lovely and helpful and kind. My little room was gorgeous and cute and cozy, and clean enough although tatty in places. For me I really had a nice day and I would definitely come back. The breakfast was extremely basic but I didn't have extremely high expectations, and I'm not really a breakfast person, so again it may not make the tick box for others but it did the job for me. Competent hotel with comfortable bed and good shower. Nice bar, didn’t try the food. Not happy to pay £10 for parking, but not knowing the town gave us little choice. Location is generally not good because the town of Bridgewater is really pretty dire. Would not return for that reason.

We had an amazing stay at The Bailbrook House Hotel. The staff were exceptionally helpful. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings and all the food was excellent. We had a small issue at breakfast as were quite late coming in for it and some of the fruit had gone, however having said that the poached egg and avocado on sourdough I had was to die for, and was delicious, and the full english was very good too. All in all it was all very enjoyable stay and would definitely return, and recommend the hotel to friends and family.
