The room was quite spacious, but I still prefer a bathroom with a separate wet and dry area (this one didn't have it). During my stay, there was an earthquake, and the hotel swayed a bit. The broadcast informed guests that the hotel was safe and there was no need to worry. If I heard correctly, it was announced twice in Japanese and once in English. Even though I could understand the general meaning in Japanese, I really wish there had been more English broadcasting, especially in an emergency. Given its Ginza location, there must be a lot of foreign tourists staying here; perhaps more than half the guests aren't Japanese, so English broadcasts are quite important.

This was my second stay here. I was initially drawn in by the platform photos of the reception area when I booked. Mitsui Garden is a chain that definitely has its unique charm. The room was 24 square meters, spacious enough to open up a large suitcase, and the bedding was very comfortable. The location is incredibly convenient; the Yamanote Line pretty much covers all my transportation needs, and with the Asakusa Line too, it gets me to about 90% of the places I want to visit. There are plenty of food and drink options nearby, plus Tokyu Plaza, which has a supermarket, a huge Matsumoto Kiyoshi, and other small convenience stores. It's extremely handy.

The hotel's location is excellent. You can sit in the lobby and enjoy the night view of Tokyo Tower, and it's within walking distance of Ginza for shopping. Plus, there are two FamilyMarts and one 7-Eleven right downstairs, which is super convenient.

However, the room was incredibly small. After putting down two suitcases (one large, one small), I couldn't even open the fridge door, and there was hardly any space to move around.

The service was subpar. The charging socket by the bed broke at night and couldn't be fixed. They suggested we move to another room of the same type, but it felt like too much hassle, so we didn't. We didn't book a room with breakfast, but we walked in and ate. Later that night, we found a collection letter from the hotel at our door, as if we were going to skip out on the bill? Don't guests usually pay upon check-out? It's not like we didn't pay a deposit. How desperate for money do you have to be to send a collection letter? It was a terrible experience! On the other hand, there wasn't even an apology for the broken charging socket that couldn't be fixed promptly. The service was really bad!

Stayed here for a few days in late autumn/early winter (Chau winter vibes). The location is really convenient – just one stop from Shinjuku Station, so getting around central Tokyo is super easy by train. That’s probably the biggest plus.
However, once you step out of the hotel, there’s literally nothing around. No convenience stores, no cafes, no supermarkets… nothing. Felt like we were in the middle of nowhere even though we’re technically in Tokyo. Had to walk quite a distance just to grab some snacks or drinks.
The air conditioning/heating system is terrible. It barely works. We were lucky because it was winter and we didn’t need much cooling, but if it had been summer, I’m pretty sure we would’ve melted. The room temperature was hard to control properly.
On the positive side, the room itself is surprisingly spacious for Tokyo standards – one of the bigger ones we’ve had. The place was also clean overall, no major complaints there.
The bathroom design is a mystery though. There’s ZERO space to hang anything – no hooks, no towel racks, nothing. We ended up hanging towels on the door handle or just leaving them on the floor. Very impractical.
Overall, it’s okay if you just need a place to sleep and don’t mind the lack of nearby amenities or the wonky AC. But for the price, I expected a bit more comfort and convenience.

This hotel feels remarkably spacious for a Japanese hotel; you can fully open your suitcase without it getting in the way. For my last three trips to Tokyo, I've chosen the Ueno Garden hotels, and each one has been very comfortable.

There's a convenience store right across the street if you turn right, and plenty of dining options nearby. The only minor drawback is that you have to cross a pedestrian bridge when coming from Ueno Station, which can be a bit confusing. I think it's easier to exit from the Panda entrance. Google Maps led me down a path without an elevator, so I just ended up wandering around without navigation! 😂 Also, the pedestrian bridge elevators stop working at night, so if you have luggage, that's something to keep in mind.

Tokyo Accommodation Recommendation | Mitsui Garden Hotel Toyosu

I've stayed here three times this year, making this my fourth visit to Mitsui Garden Hotel Toyosu.

Since it was a weekend during the National Day holiday, the room rates were quite high. A standard king-size room was over 2400 yen per night – truly Tokyo prices!

The view, as always, was stunning. Although the room was small, it was very comfortable.

Previously, you could pick up facial cleanser, makeup remover, and skincare products yourself. Now, a fixed set is provided in the room daily. Other toiletries can be collected at the elevator entrance in the lobby.

This Mitsui Garden Hotel is incredibly popular! It wasn't this crowded on my previous visits. This time, the rooms were fully booked, and the lobby was often packed. I have to admit, its location is absolutely superb, making it incredibly convenient for everything from dining and shopping to transportation.

After staying at the same hotel in Yokohama, I had high expectations for my stay in Roppongi. However, the Superior room I’ve booked was smaller than expected, room was dusty and quite dark. Fortunately, the hotel staff is nice and kindly allowed us to upgrade to 2 Deluxe rooms; otherwise, we might have considered moving to another hotel to enjoy our stay. Breakfast was presented in a fine-dining style, and the staff were pleasant and accommodating.

The more experienced staff at the front desk were great in every aspect, but the less experienced ones seemed nervous and hesitant when they had to speak English with foreigners. The main issue was that one evening, after buying water from the 13th floor and returning to my room, I didn't pay much attention. The next day, I realized my credit card was missing. It was either dropped in the hallway or still in the room, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I asked the hotel, but they had no news. I don't know if another guest picked it up or if it was taken by one of the foreign cleaning staff from the floor in my room.

The hotel is right next to Higashi-Ginza subway station, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. Major department stores are all nearby, so shopping is a breeze, and there are plenty of dining options, plus convenience stores for picking up breakfast for the next day. If you don't want to drag your luggage onto the crowded subway (it gets incredibly packed), you can take the airport bus to Narita, but you'll need to walk about 10 minutes to the bus stop.

The room's price definitely reflects its prime location. However, I wasn't impressed with the toiletries and hairdryer. I'm not sure if the Refa hairdryer was faulty or just designed that way, but it made an extremely harsh, high-pitched noise that left my ears ringing every time I used it. It also dried hair slowly and overheated easily, making it quite unpleasant to use. The shampoo and other bath products were also just average.

Overall, I'd still recommend staying here. The location genuinely can't be beat, and despite being on a main street, it wasn't noisy at all.

The room was very spacious, with plenty of room for our luggage. The generously sized 2.4-meter bed was perfect for our family of three, and we would definitely choose this hotel again for future stays. Housekeeping was prompt; even when we accidentally left the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on, staff would thoughtfully bring fresh towels to our door. The hotel also offers laundry facilities, along with ice and a microwave for guests. Overall, we had a great experience.

The beds were quite comfortable and the room was spacious. The mini-bar by the entrance was very convenient to use. I deducted half a star for service because the young female staff member who assisted with self check-in had a habitual scowl, especially when she thought no one was looking; she did the same with the elderly white couple before us.

This is also a Mitsui Garden Hotel, but unlike the typical 'Japanese' style I usually associate with them, it's much more modern. The public areas are excellent, and the steam room and sauna are definite highlights! They also maintain that modern aesthetic. All the showers are stand-up. The decor and material quality in the rooms and on the guest floors are a bit subpar and overly simplistic. Because the 'base color' is so dark, it tends to show dust bunnies more easily (not necessarily dirty, but it doesn't look good) 😂. The bed, however, is comfortable, and the curtains are great at blocking out light (though it's a shame the windows don't open, I just wanted some fresh air). The TV is high-definition, but its use is limited if you're out all day. The hotel is conveniently located near a bus stop, making it easy to get to attractions like Kiyomizu-dera and Eikan-do. It's actually not far from Shijo and Kyoto Station; on a nice day, you could easily walk, but if it's cold, judge your own stamina. The Gojo subway station entrance, right outside, isn't very friendly for those with large luggage as there's no elevator. Overall, the hotel service deserves a thumbs-up. The front desk staff, both male and female, speak good English and are very friendly and proactive in offering assistance. I noticed a larger number of Western guests during my stay. Just a heads-up: room trash is only collected every two days.

Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Kawaramachi Jingo-ji

A truly unique experience, only available at a hotel integrated with a temple, is the 'Morning Service Experience' (500 yen). Exclusively for guests, this Jodo-shu Buddhist service is held daily in the lobby. I received a paper detailing the service flow and participated from my seat. It was a refreshing and optional activity.

Environment: This is the most comfortable hotel I've stayed at during this business trip. It's very spacious! Japanese hotels are usually small, but this one is huge! The entire lobby feels very pleasant, and it smells nice too!

Facilities: Excellent and very comfortable.

Hygiene: Very clean!!

Service: They even gave me Decorté skincare products upon check-in!

Breakfast: Breakfast is on the first basement level, which is the only drawback, but the food is delicious and there's a wide variety!

Location: It's right next to Kyoto Station, opposite Kyoto Tower! The location is great!

The room wasn't very big, and it definitely wasn't the 32.4 square meters I booked. When I talked to the front desk, they just said it was the largest room they had. With a double bed and a sofa bed, there was very little floor space left. I contacted Trip.com customer service, but the hotel still insisted it was 32.4 square meters. There was nothing more I could do, as I had several meetings there for a few days, so I just made do. The hotel environment itself is quite nice, with a Wabi-sabi aesthetic, and the surrounding streets are very quiet. Not too far away, there's a bustling commercial street, making it a peaceful spot amidst the lively area. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance. Many thanks to Trip.com customer service for their active help in trying to resolve the issue.

Highly Recommended Stay in Kyoto

I would like to strongly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Kyoto. The staff demonstrate exceptional professionalism and hospitality.

In particular, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Miss Yuki, who assisted us with our check-in and kindly introduced many wonderful sightseeing spots and activities in Kyoto, as well as to Miss Tsai, a ********* staff member who supported us during check-out with great warmth and care. Their thoughtful service truly reflects the welcoming spirit of Kyoto and the hotel’s commitment to excellence.

I am genuinely impressed by the quality of the team members who bring guests happiness and satisfaction through their dedication. They truly deserve recognition and applause for their outstanding service.

Our two-night stay was far too short, and we are already looking forward to returning in the near future.

The hotel is only four stops from Fukuoka Airport, and it's just a few minutes' walk after you exit the station. Next door is the original Ichiran Ramen, and seriously, every time I pass by, I see a huge line of people! 😅 There are also yatai (food stalls) open nearby in the evening, so the location is great, very close to Tenjin and Hakata. The hotel rooms are a bit small and cramped. However, the large public bath on the top floor is a nice touch; you can relax and soak there every day after coming back. The breakfast has some unique local flavors, worth trying. It's also very quiet at night, which is great for rest.

The room wasn't overly spacious; while the twin beds could be pushed together, we could barely open our 28-inch suitcase by the wall due to limited space.

Location-wise, it's fantastic for subway users, with the station entrance right outside the hotel. However, for those focused on shopping, it's somewhat inconveniently situated between Hakata and Tenjin, meaning it's not truly close to either major shopping district.

That said, breakfast was absolutely delicious! The cute little bowls used for serving food were a charming touch, and it certainly put me in a great mood to start the day.

There's a free rooftop onsen (hot spring bath) available, but remember to bring your own swimwear.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel for first-time visitors to Fukuoka. For a maiden trip, most people would prefer to be closer to Hakata for its dining, sightseeing, and easy access to day trips, or near Tenjin for serious retail therapy. This spot is much better suited for returning visitors.
