GGuest UserThe courtyard is obviously well designed, with winding paths and everything you need. The room is decorated with great texture, it seems very spacious when you move in, and the bedding and bathroom are also very clean. The scenery is beautiful when sitting in the courtyard. There are rape flowers in front of you and a stream flowing in front of the door. Many students sketching are also here, which has become another scenic spot. It is very convenient to go to other parts of the village from here, as well as to climb to the top to see the whole picture of the village.
The key is that the proprietress is warm and cheerful, and some of her cooking skills are great. I had the most sumptuous and delicious breakfast here. It felt like visiting relatives and I was reluctant to leave. If vacations could be unlimited, I really want to stay here for a few months, basking in the sun, petting cats, tasting the boss lady's cooking, digging wild vegetables and bamboo shoots. It would be so beautiful.

GGuest UserHighly recommended B&B! The location is wonderfully secluded, and the rooms are cozy and tastefully decorated in a Japanese style. The courtyard is very thoughtfully designed; every photo you take turns out beautifully. Most of the staff are *******, and they are incredibly warm and welcoming. Having just returned from a trip to Tibet this year, I felt an instant connection 🥰.
I especially have to mention the B&B's dinner. We originally planned to eat in Hongcun but couldn't find a restaurant we liked, so we decided to head back to the B&B (they even offer shuttle service to Hongcun!). We pre-ordered our meal with the manager, so it was ready when we got back. We ordered stinky mandarin fish, free-range chicken soup, and stir-fried eggs with stone ear fungus. Every dish was made with super fresh ingredients and tasted absolutely amazing, especially the chicken soup. It was definitely made with free-range chicken, something you just can't find in Shanghai – so delicious! The portions were generous too; we couldn't finish it all. The manager even suggested saving the rest for chicken noodle soup the next morning. Wow, such thoughtful service! They also gave us a parting gift when we left. I love the atmosphere here and every single staff member. If you're coming to Tachuan, choose to stay here – you definitely won't regret it!

GGippiThe property is located in the heart of Hongcun, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the historic village on foot. As guests, you’re also entitled to discounted entrance tickets: just let the ticket office know you're staying here and they'll give you 50% off tickets. Room was exactly as in the photos, spacious, perfectly clean and featured a very comfortable bed and many accessories (bottled water, tv, haircomb, hairdrier, etc). The building’s traditional Chinese architecture was absolutely beautiful and on a rainy day, it created a wonderfully romantic atmosphere we will treasure forever in our memories. The staff were exceptionally helpful. They kindly met us to guide us to the hotel (since Apple Maps and AMaps can be a bit confusing in the area), provided umbrellas free of charge and even bring us back to the parking lot when we left. We had an excellent stay and highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Hongcun!

It's incredibly comfortable to stay here, and this particular room has a small balcony, which is perfect for enjoying the view – a great choice! The owner confirms your itinerary beforehand to arrange pick-up and drop-off, and even helps with luggage. They're really nice.

SShijunzibuqiAs a top-tier domestic hotel brand, Banyan Tree generally excels in every aspect. My family and I stayed there during the May Day holiday, and our experience was absolutely perfect. The hotel's gardens are particularly serene and comfortable, with expansive views, offering a truly relaxing garden atmosphere. There's a pond right outside the room, which adds a lovely touch. Inside the room, the window view is superb, and the bathtub is perfectly situated, with excellent hot water. I was particularly impressed by the intricate carvings on the internal doors. For breakfast, the freshly squeezed juices were fantastic, and there was a great variety; on the day we stayed, they even had delicious lamb chops. Finally, regarding the service, the staff were all very professional, clearly well-trained, yet also very friendly and approachable. Although the hotel was quite pricey during May Day, it largely justified its value. Especially breathtaking are the wild clouds and mist right outside the hotel, and it's also very close to Hongcun Village. Absolutely stunning.

BBaiwenburuyijianyaThis was my second stay. Hongcun is a great place to relax on weekends, and Zhang's Mansion is as cozy as ever. I told the manager in advance what I wanted to eat, and we ate right away. The food was all bought by the aunties at the manor that morning—fresh and delicious. The rooms are still in the same style, with a classic, antique charm. During the day, I strolled around the village, and in the evening, I went back to the manor to eat, drink, and sleep, relieving the fatigue of work.

The hotel environment is better and the facilities are complete. The bed is very comfortable. The breakfast in the hotel is also delicious. The staple food, fruit, milk and coffee, are all available. LldidiAbsolutely loved the hotel's design! From the moment you step into the elevator from the parking lot, it feels ancient and charming. As you walk through the corridors and enter the lobby, there's even a fireplace where you can roast mandarins and marshmallows [milk tea emoji]. The entire design blends oriental aesthetics with unique Southern Anhui features like bamboo, tiles, and stone slabs throughout. The only downside is that rooms on the ground floor can get a bit damp, and the air conditioning is a bit loud [facepalm emoji]. Design and functionality are completely fine though, with an indoor onsen, kids' area, gym, and breakfast – all good for a short stay of a few days. However, compared to a true resort hotel, it might fall a little short.

It is within walking distance to Nanhu Lake and the core attractions. The door is the ancient charm of the ink-water Jiangnan. The rooms are light, luxurious, clean and comfortable, the floor heating configuration is intimate, and the living experience is very comfortable.

GGuest UserPig's Inn is a charming little hotel in a beautiful original building - the spaces are just incredible and endlessly photogenic. The village of Bishan itself is very quaint, still inhabited by locals but with a few cafés and bars, design stores and a wonderful bookshop. The breakfast and dinner at the hotel are fabulous - we had dinner here twice. We stayed here for two nights in January, as most of the spaces are open, the hotel was a little chilly, but we were very cosy in front of the fireplace in the living area.
Very happy we chose to stay in the small village of Bishan rather than the beautiful, but more touristy villages of Xidi or Hongcun. There are bikes and it was easy to get a Didi to visit the surrounding villages.
