"The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the city center, making it easy to get to both the ancient city and commercial areas. Parking was also convenient for those arriving by car. Great value for money! The rooms were clean and tidy, with a good separation of wet and dry areas. The soundproofing was also decent. The butler was warm and patient, always ready to answer any questions, which definitely enhanced our positive impression of Datong."

"I read a lot of reviews beforehand, which mostly mentioned terrible room conditions and unhelpful front desk staff. This prepared me for the worst, but when we arrived in the early hours of the morning, the staff member at the front desk was incredibly kind and friendly. We're a family of four, and they proactively upgraded our room. We had originally booked a Cloud Elegant Twin Room with two 1.35m beds, but they upgraded us to a Cloud Family Room with two 1.5m beds – what a pleasant surprise! We're so grateful. The room size is already quite generous, and both the indoor and outdoor environments are very quiet. The interior decor, even down to the corners, isn't as bad as some reviews suggested. As for the issue of yellow water, I didn't experience it during my two-night stay. The breakfast area is very nice, with a wide variety of dishes, including Shanxi specialties, and the food tastes good."

"Facilities: The facilities are excellent, with smart home controls for everything – curtains, lights, TV, alarm clock, all powered by Tmall Genie. Everything looks quite new. Cleanliness: The hygiene was okay, but I'm not sure if it was an allergy specific to Datong or something else, but after one night, my nose felt itchy and I kept sneezing. It got much better after I turned on the air conditioning. Environment: The hotel's internal environment is good. It's about 2-3 kilometers from the ancient city, which is a comfortable bike ride away. The hotel also has slow-charging stations, so if you're driving, you can charge your car overnight. We just went directly into the ancient city for meals. Service: The service attitude was very good."

"The location is absolutely fantastic, right in the heart of the ancient city. For dining: Xi Jin Dao is downstairs, Fenglin Pavilion is a 10-minute walk, and Long Juxiang offers delivery directly to your phone. Every time we took a taxi back to the inn, we'd get off at Huayan Hotel and walk two minutes. The popular Heshengcai is a 10-minute walk (though the taste was just so-so, and none of the pastries even had an ingredient list). For sights: Huayan Temple is a 5-minute walk. I visited Shanhua Temple at night, which was about a 15-minute walk. During the May Day holiday, there were only about 10 people in the entire temple at night, so we could enjoy a peaceful visit. On the way back and forth, we also saw the city wall's light show and passed through a lantern festival. Rumeng Datong (Dreams of Datong) was also within walking distance. Service was great too. On our last day, we had to leave for the train station at 7:30 AM, and the owner even packed breakfast for us. The lamb offal soup with vermicelli every morning was delicious. The furniture is all elm wood. The loft family room was perfect for our family of three. The only downsides were that the room rate was expensive during May Day, and the bathroom design was a bit impractical."

"The accommodation at Datong Hotel Yingbin Building is excellent and meets the 3-star standard. I especially want to highlight the Chinese restaurant in the VIP building. The chef cooks for government guests, so you know the food must be top-notch! Picture three shows the mixed hotpot, and picture five is the 'Guo You Rou' (fried pork). The sliced noodles are also very well made, and the yellow rice cake is authentic. Overall, it's delicious and not expensive. If you stay at Datong Hotel, you absolutely must try the Chinese restaurant."

"We stayed here with our child, and the hotel's location is excellent. It's very close to the East Gate of the ancient city, and if you walk south from the hotel, there are many small eateries. The interior environment is clean and tidy, and the facilities are very functional. The sleeping environment is great, quiet with no noise, and the bedding is comfortable. The service attitude is superb; they genuinely care about guests and provide many conveniences and benefits."

"I visited Datong this week and stayed at the Meijing Heyang Hotel. From the outside, the hotel looks unremarkable, but after checking in, there were many highlights that impressed me: The service was attentive and thoughtful, and the staff were warm and patient with guests. The lobby always had several types of tea available, and in addition to standard toiletries, the room also provided laundry detergent, skincare products, and hand cream. It's clear they pay great attention to detail for their guests, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms were clean, and housekeeping was prompt and thorough. The facilities were well-arranged, making for a very comfortable stay. Furthermore, I noticed over these past few days that the hotel was almost fully booked every day, which speaks volumes about its mature operations and professional, dedicated staff. The only minor drawback was that the bathroom vanity was a bit too low, making it slightly inconvenient for washing up. If it could be raised a bit in the future, the stay would be even more perfect."

This place truly elevated our entire trip for all three families. The location is superb, right in the heart of the ancient city, making transportation incredibly convenient. In just about ten minutes on foot, we could easily reach various attractions within Datong's ancient city, like Dongnanyi, Daiwang Mansion, and Huayan Temple – all closely connected and bustling with activity! My friend meticulously researched and selected this hotel. It's relatively new since its opening, with modern and well-equipped facilities, including smart voice control (Xiao Du). It's impeccably clean, tidy, and its convenient location is beyond reproach. They even have a washing machine, a tea area, and a reading nook for kids. The complimentary buffet breakfast offers a wide variety of options, many of which are local specialties, and it was quite good. Finally, what truly impressed and touched my friends and me was the thoughtful and warm service from the owner and staff, from top to bottom. When we arrived in Datong after transferring from Taiyuan by high-speed train, two cars were arranged to pick us up right away. Despite the light rain, the staff had umbrellas ready and were waiting for us at the intersection, helping us with our luggage and getting us settled in. Everyone was delighted! They also provided plenty of snacks, toys, and complimentary fruit that the kids loved. Any request, big or small, was promptly addressed and arranged. The service level was on par with a five-star hotel! A heartfelt thumbs-up! 👍 I sincerely wish the owner a thriving business and believe that with such a sincere service philosophy, they will surely prosper for a long time!"

"This guesthouse has a lovely, lively atmosphere. The animals in the courtyard really bring the place to life, and their caretaker is so kind. The animals are well-behaved and adorable! The interior furnishings are very practical, and the two-story, loft-style room was a big hit with the kids. It also has a small balcony full of plants and flowers, which was perfect for drying clothes. The owner is incredibly welcoming and even brought fresh fruit every day at noon. The location is excellent too. Highly recommend!"

"This was my first time in Datong, and I have no regrets about my choice. As Datong's renowned five-star hotel, everything was perfect, except for the slightly outdated facilities and lack of smart technology. The service was exceptional, and the breakfast was plentiful. A pleasant surprise was the bathhouse on the fifth floor, which was great for unwinding after a long day. Fresh fruit was provided daily, and the mini-fridge had complimentary drinks. My two daughters absolutely loved the LOFT room type, and the soundproofing was excellent. The hotel's Chinese restaurant was also fantastic, with delicious food at reasonable prices – a great option for dinner when returning to the hotel feeling tired. The location is also superb, within walking distance of the Ancient City, Parkson, and Xingmao Hui. While I might try other hotels next time, Yungang Jianguo Hotel has left a deep impression on me. I would definitely recommend it to friends."
