"The location is convenient, just a 10-minute walk from the central station, right next to the Lilla Bommen building (the 'lipstick building'). It seems newly opened, as the decor and facilities are very new. It's minimalist, neat, and clean. However, I must mention an issue I encountered. I went the wrong way and mistakenly swiped my card for another room, and it actually opened! There were guests inside. I reported it to the front desk, and they checked the records, confirming that my key card (A) had indeed opened room B. They re-issued my card, but this is a serious security lapse and should be taken seriously!"

Whether it was morning light reflecting off the buildings or the soft glow in the evenings, those views gave the place a special atmosphere that I won’t forget. A Studio Room That Feels Like Home Our studio room came with a small kitchenette, and I can’t stress enough how handy that was. For a longer stay, being able to cook a simple meal or make a late tea added such a homely touch. The room itself felt modern and cozy, just right for settling in without feeling cramped. A Breakfast with Heart Breakfast was always a cheerful way to start the day, not just because of the food but because of the people. The breakfast chef, a lovely lady with beautiful red hair, had the warmest presence. She greeted everyone with such kindness that it set the tone for the rest of the day. Looking back, what made Clarion Hotel The Pier memorable wasn’t just the location or the facilities—it was the sense of care woven through the stay. Between the quiet setting, the beautiful views, the comfort of the room, and those daily warm greetings (especially at breakfast), the hotel managed to feel both professional and genuinely personal."

"Fint rum med mycket sköna sängar. Mycket bra frukost och bra service speciellt av Anton i receptionen. Vi fick extra uppvaktning pga av vår 40 åriga bröllopsdagsfirande. Det vi dock reagerade på var deras prideflaggor vid receptionen som inte var välkomnande. Handlar inte om alla människors värde utan om att alla inte delar deras extrema sexualpolitiska agenda. Det kunde vara nationsflaggor istället eller hotellets flagga."

"The air conditioning was too loud and wouldn't completely turn off for a break. I felt a bit claustrophobic in this room, and the window was too small. The furniture was too dark. The sink wasn't ergonomic; everything always got wet because the rim was so wide that you had to lean over, and then water would splash out. My wife didn't perceive everything the same way I did. The breakfast area was very nice, open, and pleasant. Overall, it's a mixed bag, unfortunately, I can't stay in this cramped room again, not willingly."

"Location is 10/10, right next to the central bus station and tram with multiple routes. Room is large, bed is a little bit small even for a single bed. Lighting is too scattered in the room. There is a coffee table attached to the sofa which is too steep you put anything on it, it slides away. Bathroom floor got wet after every shower cause the shower curb is too thin and short with no door. The ventilation was not good enough the bathroom kept foggy for a pretty while. The ac worked very well even sometimes was a little too cool. I couldn’t find anywhere to adjust the speed and temperature. Breakfast was very nice and replenished almost every single minute. Except one thing you have to slide the bread loaf yourself so everyone touched the bread which is not hygienic at all. Also if the breakfast time could be longer that would be perfect. The most indecent part would be the soundproofing of the rooms. The wall is too thin and room door is too heavy. When someone opened and closed the door it was way too noisy it felt like an earthquake (not exaggerating at all). On the third night of my stay, the guest in my next room was walking back and forth during the midnight (about 3am) probably to bathroom. He/She jumped onto the bed (We shared the same wall), it totally freaked me out I thought it was earthquake. My bed was shaking too bad. It happened like 3 times durning that night. The next day someone knocked my door at early 8am without saying anything. I reported to the front desk the other day and asked for a gentle reminder to my neighbor not to jump. Staff was really helpful and friendly. Honestly I was expected even more for this brand which is very popular worldwide. If the soundproofing issue could be resolved. I would definitely give it a 9-10 out of 10 with no doubt."

"The hotel’s location is excellent and very convenient for exploring the city, which was definitely a highlight of my stay. However, there were a few aspects that fell short of expectations. Firstly, my room did not have a view of the street as I had hoped, but instead faced an inner atrium, which made it feel somewhat enclosed and less appealing. Additionally, I had booked a double room but was given a twin room instead, which was disappointing. The reception staff were not particularly friendly or welcoming, which affected the overall first impression. On a more positive note, the food in the restaurant was of satisfactory quality, and the selection was quite diverse. Overall, this is a solid hotel in a convenient location for city exploration, but the experience was far from memorable."

"I booked this hotel for my birthday and it was honestly the best decision ever ! It was amazing, luxurious, staff were very nice and friendly . Housekeeping was done daily, we had a beautiful view to the garden and the pool. Would definitely come back again. Be aware there is a deposit you have to pay, £100 per night with a credit card or £200 per night with debit card which wasnt made clear on the website. Deposit was returned fairly quick."

"Because we travel with rented car so the location is not really a problem. They do provide private parking with additional charge which the staff at Front Office provided the information and explained very well. The room itself were fabulous. Everything is still new and all the tools are provided including kitchenette, washing machines, hair dryer, plates, cups, cutleries, and all the coffee & tea. The price was also very decent."

"The hotel’s location is excellent — just a short walk from the central station, which made getting around very convenient. However, I was disappointed by a few aspects of the stay. The hotel provides grey towels, which I found unappealing; white towels generally give a better sense of cleanliness. Breakfast was adequate, though some of the fruit offered was of poor quality. I also had concerns about the room’s cleanliness. After our first night, it didn’t seem like the room had been thoroughly cleaned — the drinking glasses we had used weren’t replaced, and some visible stains we had accidentally made were not wiped down. Additionally, the iron in the room tripped the power on both occasions we tried to use it, which was quite frustrating. The refrigerator in our room wasn’t working properly, so the drinks we stored inside remained warm. I also found the 11:00 a.m. checkout time to be inconvenient, as a later checkout would have allowed for a more relaxed departure."

"Overall a pleasant stay, conveniently located near to Gothenburg Central Station and right next to Nordstan shopping mall and tram / bus links. Easy walking distance to Haga and elsewhere too.  Hotel rooms are well appointed, though proper AC would be beneficial, there with comfy beds and the bathroom is comfortable too. The gym while not large, it's better equiped that majority of hotel gyms around and enough for a workout. Never tried the pool / sauna, you have to book a time slot which just made things a little awkward to fit into our day but it's a good concept.  Only downside is the wooden floors in the hotel rooms. You can hear people walking / moving furniture easily from several rooms / floors away. While not the hotels fault, guests are so unaware with how loud they are and need to take responsibility on this. Make noise late into the evening and from 6am everyday disturbed our sleep. That would be the only negative of our stay."
