The customer service staff seemed to be unable to speak English. They knocked on the door even after the do not disturb function was turned off, and they also opened the protection lock without permission. The hair in the bathroom of the room I stayed in before was not cleaned, and the tissue box was not replaced in time (there were only a few left when I checked in)

The kitchen facilities are very complete, but the dishwasher seems to be broken. The location of the hotel is good, but the surrounding facilities are average, so it is suitable for traveling with a car. Cars can be parked in the parking lot under the office buildings around the hotel, and many people park on the side of the road. It is said that there is a charge for parking in the hotel

1. Because I rented a car, I chose a hotel with free parking and a lot of parking spaces.
2. I arrived at 2pm, checked in, and asked for toothpaste and a fork. The service was pretty good.
3. The room is average, domestic three-star level, but it has drinking water and a microwave, which is rare.
4. The breakfast is very good, including fruits, yogurt, cereals, etc.

The hotel's greatest asset is its superb location. La Jolla, an affluent San Diego neighborhood, is a bit removed from downtown but offers a safer, cleaner environment. It's conveniently close to UCSD and La Jolla Beach, boasting picturesque views and fewer crowds. Directly across from the hotel, a massive dining and shopping complex provides every amenity for entertainment and culinary pursuits.
The hotel itself feels a bit dated, with room amenities appearing about two decades old. However, the rooms are quite spacious. Our family room was configured much like a one-bedroom apartment, featuring a separate door that allowed for complete privacy, which was a definite plus. The room was well-equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker, making it ideal for family stays.
While the hotel is large and frequently busy with numerous guests, which can lead to some noise, and the breakfast area often gets packed, it does offer a very convenient on-site parking garage.
Daily Resort Charge includes: 2 glasses of wine or tap beer daily; 2 bottled waters daily; 15% off Torrey Pines ProShop; access to Shiley Fitness Center including full-service gym, track & classes; 20% off hotel gift shop; Wi-Fi; sports court/equipment rental; resort games, toys & yoga equipment.

Checked in late at night and it went smoothly. The staff was very helpful. They brought my luggage up, placed it in my room, got an extra bed for my child, and brought a baby playpen for my baby. Very quiet hotel which I preferred. We also got to see some weddings out our balcony which was beautiful, overall we had a wonderful weekend! Great amenities and hospitality! We will definitely be back.

We loved our stay at resident inn la jolla. We have to go the ucsd regularly during our stay. The location of this hotel is close to the university. Bus stations just a few walk. Supermarkets are also not very far away. A little more walk can reach the blue line. Given that we dont drive, the location of this hotel is not bad indeed. The room is equiped with a full kitchen setup so we can cook. Also the room is spacious and bed is comfortable. At night the neighbourhood is quiet too which is good for resting. The breakfast of this hotel is also good, though not a lot options. The only downside is the TV in our room is not working all the time. Sometimes it won't take command from the remote or the buttons on the side-board which is weird. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

It's OK. It's close to UC San Diego. The hotel facilities are old and the noise is a bit loud at night! The front desk service is OK. You can order food at the hotel, but the taste is average.

The bedding was satisfactory, and the location was close to USCD; overall, I was satisfied. However, there were a few minor issues: 1. Two bottles of purified water were provided in the room on the first day, but not after that. The front desk said that they could only be purchased in the adjacent room, where a 500ml bottle of purified water cost $6.70 (this same bottle costs 17 cents in a supermarket). During my 9-day stay, purified water was mostly not provided, occasionally one bottle was provided, and then two bottles were provided on the last day. I suggest the hotel management standardize this practice, either providing two bottles for all stays or none at all, instead of leaving guests guessing. 2. The booking confirmation mentioned toothpaste, so I removed the toothpaste from my luggage. However, I couldn't find any in the room upon arrival and had to buy it myself. I don't know why. 3. The room description mentioned a balcony, which I thought I could sit on and enjoy the breeze, but it turned out to be very narrow, not even big enough for a chair, and seemed useless. I suggest future guests avoid choosing rooms with balconies. 4. The room is poorly soundproofed, and you can often hear outside noise. Fortunately, it is a relatively quiet community, but people with poor sleep should choose this option with caution.

AAnonymous UserThis is an old hotel with rich cultural background, all the staff are very friendly, the room service is timely and in place, the bedding and mattress are very comfortable, the breakfast is not to mention, the weekend menu will be replaced with the brunch menu. All the above advantages allow me to tolerate the only disadvantage of zero view from the window. Parking is valet, there is a cvs at the door, and there is a taco that ranks first in the United States within five minutes' walk, which is pretty good, but there is homeless on the roadside
周周The hotel room is very old. The location and environment are very good. However, after the departure, the authorization deposit was deducted for more than 28 US dollars. No one mentioned it, including Ctrip and the hotel front desk. I don't know why the previous comments didn't mention Everyone should pay attention to when considering hotels.
RRANThe location is very good, it is recommended that the sea view room, the landscape is better, you can see the US military base in the distance, park the aircraft carrier, there are always black Hawk helicopters constantly rising and falling during the day!
LLindy_LFor a colleague, display the pre-authorization. As a result, the credit card shows consumption. Colleagues at the front desk are also paying. It has been three months since now, and I have not returned the cost of the card before returning. Still studying how to
KKhadija.Upon check-in, I was asked to pay for the room, which I did. However, I noticed the amount charged was higher than the total from my original booking. I asked the receptionist (I believe his name was Raul, though I’m not entirely sure) why that was. I explained the amount I had been quoted during booking. He then mentioned, almost as an afterthought, that a $150 deposit is taken at check-in.
I told him this should have been communicated before processing the payment, as it’s standard practice to inform guests of such charges upfront. While I wasn’t pleased, I went ahead and paid.
I also mentioned that I had submitted a request in advance for a room away from the elevator with a good view. He told me the hotel was fully booked, which confused me, since I had booked well in advance and included my request at the time. He assigned me Room 503, which was directly across from the elevator, not away from it.
I didn’t want to complain as I had just traveled over 12 hours from London to San Diego and was extremely tired. I planned to grab some dinner and get straight to bed. However, the room was quite noisy—there was a lot of hallway activity, and the family next door had their TV volume quite high. I decided not to go downstairs and complain, hoping I could just fall asleep.
Unfortunately, I was woken up around 3 a.m. by a crying child, and again at 5 a.m. At that point, I was extremely frustrated and went to speak to the receptionist on duty, Matthew. I explained everything to him, and he was very understanding. He said there was availability and offered to move me immediately…this was surprising, considering the earlier claim that the hotel was full.
He moved me to Room 204. While it wasn’t far from the elevator either, he assured me it would be quieter since there were no large families on that floor. He was right—the room was much more peaceful, and I appreciated his help.
At checkout, I saw the same receptionist who had checked me in and decided not to approach him. Instead, I spoke to Antonio at the other desk. I asked about the deposit, and he informed me it would take 2–3 business days to be released. Naturally, I wasn’t thrilled to hear this, especially after the earlier issues, so I shared my entire experience with him. He apologized sincerely and mentioned the initial receptionist may need additional training, which they would look into.
Overall, the stay was decent for a short 3-night visit, but the start could have been handled much better.
XXingzoudebeibeiThe location is a bit out of the way; it takes over 15 minutes to drive to any attractions, and there's not much at the nearby mall.
Parking costs $40 a night.
The mattress was uncomfortable, sagging in the middle with the foot end higher than the head end. The water pressure at the sink was very low.
Breakfast was $27, and with tax and tip, it came to nearly $34 per person. There wasn't much variety: two types of eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, and mostly carbs, with no vegetables. There were some fruits and yogurt, though. The staff were very good, offering to pack drinks to go, like iced lemonade, coffee, or tea.
JJunnel08i like that the place is clean and the breakfast is also good. they also have a free storage facilities to leave your luggage. it was a good stay.
AAllgo𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱. I stayed there for 2 weeks, working from home during the day, going out at night. Pros:
- excellent value for the comfort and amenities at under $65/night
- great desk & comfortable chair for laptop work
- nice modern Philips large-screen TV you can connect to via HDMI
- the Internet was ok (~10Mbps) but disconnected daily (reconnecting the WiFi restored it)
- pretty quiet considering the proximity to the freeway: just white noise, haven't heard any revving or sirens
- walls don't provide much sound insulation but I've heard only ONE neighbor conversation during my 2-week stay. It did help that I chose a room on the top floor, and next to the janitorial room (#522)
- the wall-mounted A/C was surprisingly quiet, and heating worked fast
- ventilation was okay if you keep the window open about 1ft
- only saw 3 flying insects, and a crawling one in the shower
- clean room, only found a few hair strands in the shower
- mini-fridge was quiet and held a week's worth of food
- great use of space: 4 large drawers, rack with clothes hangers, space for suitcases to be out of the way, 2 mirrors
- the staff was very kind of provide a microwave, can opener, paper plates
- pool was clean
- two hot tubs were great, and MUCH cleaner than my friend's who stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott next door
- coin-operated laundry on site ($2.50 + $2.50 W/D, $1.50 laundry soap)
- nice landscaping and you could smell eucalyptus trees
Neutral:
- the pool/hot tub area closed at 10pm
- there's nothing to do in the walkable area (just other hotels), but North Park is only a $10 Uber ride away, and the Fashion Mall is right across the freeway
- construction in front of the lobby should be finished by the end of 2025
Cons:
- gym was tiny and lacking: only 3 cardio machines (one elliptical that felt awkward) and one cable stations with fixed cable points; no free weights, towels, or watercooler cups
GGuest UserI like the bedroom everything look clean and comfortable to sleep. I was able to sleep well. Thank you! Would recommend this place I hope to come back again!..
FFeisitelaweiliaoThe facilities are a bit old, and you have to climb a hill to get to the main entrance of the hotel. It is not far from old town transit and fashion valley, so it is quite convenient.
