It's very safe, so solo travelers can walk around and explore the local food scene without their moms worrying about them getting robbed."

The location was highly convenient, allowing easy access to major attractions such as Table Mountain and the Waterfront. The apartment-style layout suited our family well, offering sufficient space for luggage, children, and downtime. The room was larger than expected and exceeded our initial expectations in comfort. While there was a slight lingering smoke smell upon arrival, airing out the room improved the environment. Staff were helpful and accommodating, especially when allowing us to store luggage prior to check-in. The overall experience balanced independence with hotel-style convenience. It was especially helpful during a busy sightseeing phase of the trip. HAVN offered a reliable, well-located option for families seeking flexibility and space in Cape Town."

"Excellent hotel. Great location, with the embankment and a Spar supermarket within walking distance. It's a quiet area with secure parking. The room was comfortable and had everything needed for a stay. The hotel and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant offers good breakfasts, and the cuisine overall is excellent; we tried many things from the menu, and everything was delicious. The hotel might not be brand new, but that doesn't detract from it; if anything, it adds to its charm."

"I had heard it was in a not-so-safe area, but there were no issues as cars could pull right up to the hotel entrance, and there's a security guard at the parking entrance, which made traveling by ride-sharing app perfectly fine. However, I'd definitely advise against walking, even for short distances. The staff were very helpful, and my stay was comfortable. I was too lazy to go out, so I ate at the hotel's restaurant several times, and it was excellent – delicious and inexpensive. I'd love to stay here again when I next visit Cape Town. I've attached photos of the delicious burger and T-bone steak I had at the restaurant."

"Had a great stay at The Tokyo Aparthotel. The apartment had everything I needed and the location was close to all the main attractions in the city. The staff was friendly, welcoming and made me feel at home. There is construction going on in the area at the moment, but besides that, I would highly recommend staying here. "We visited the hotel in January 2026. We loved everything, the studio room with a balcony was absolutely top-notch! 🔥 The location is convenient, and there's parking available. The only downside was that the washing machine in our room wasn't working, and we constantly had to ask for access to a laundry room, which was a bit annoying. Also, a rather unpleasant incident was being charged 350 for a stained sheet. This was purely accidental due to unavoidable feminine circumstances..."

"The breakfast, freshly prepared in the kitchen, was okay, though a bit salty, and the buffet had limited variety. The room was clean, but the sockets were South African standard, requiring adapters. The lighting consisted of two spotlights and a hidden ambient light in the ceiling, with no sleep mode. It was confusing to see that some rooms of the same type had washing machines and some didn't. Overall, the price was a bit high."

"An excellent hotel in a perfect location in Capetown. Minutes walk from the V&A Waterfront. All staff we came into contact with were friendly, professional and very helpful. We had breakfast included which was immense with a beautiful buffet and a chef standing by to cook you whatever you wanted. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and tables and towels round the pool were cleared regularly. The room was spacious and very well equipped. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to discover Capetown."
