With a stay at V Stay, you'll be centrally located in Seoul, just a 4-minute walk from Namsan Mountain Park and 6 minutes by foot from Myeongdong Street. This hostel is 0.4 mi (0.7 km) from Namdaemun Market and 1.6 mi (2.6 km) from Dongdaemun History and Culture Park. Make use of convenient amenities, which include complimentary wireless internet access and a communal living room. Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and coffee/tea in a common area. Make yourself at home in one of the 23 air-conditioned rooms featuring heated floors and flat-screen televisions. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and digital programming is available for your entertainment.

"Staying at V stay was really nice. The room was clean and had all the things needed for my short stay. On top of that, there is a water dispenser and towels readily available at the common areas. There is also a laundry area where you can wash some clothes, which would definitely save luggage space. The staff is also very friendly and would readily help if you need it. The location is great as it is walking distance to the tourists areas as well as the subway station. Do take note that it is situated on a slight hill, which may be a little bit of a climb, but it was not an issue for me. Nonetheless, cars and taxis can easily access the hostel, which is great as you do not need to lug your baggage up and down the hill if you can afford them. Really recommend for people to come and stay here, especially for friends."

Conveniences include safes and desks, and housekeeping is provided daily.

"Transportation: Two bus lines stop right outside the hotel, one of which is the 6001 airport bus to Seoul Incheon. It's about a dozen stops to Gimpo Airport. While the subway station isn't far, it's quite a walk underground, taking at least 10 minutes to reach the turnstiles. Cleanliness: If you want your room cleaned, you need to hang the 'make up the room' sign on your door, otherwise, the cleaning staff won't come. Service: The front desk staff were all very helpful. Breakfast is 1000 Korean Won per person. Facilities: There's a machine at the front desk where you can buy transportation cards and SIM cards, exchange money, and even process in-hotel tax refunds. Another machine sells disposable toothbrushes, facial cleansers, and other convenient items. Overall: The hotel facilities are good, but it's a bit of a distance from the subway station. However, it's a good value for the price."

"A small hotel near Myeongdong. 1. Location: It's about 800 meters from Seoul Station, closest to Hoehyeon Station on Line 4, right next to Namdaemun Market, and there are many bus stops nearby. The hotel is hard to find! It's on the 10th floor of a building, and the building's signs are in Korean, which made it a bit difficult to figure out. I had to look closely at the entrance to see a small sign with the hotel's name. I was a bit disoriented. 2. The hotel's interior is thoughtfully designed, with many cute signs. There's drinking water, paper cups, tissues, towels, and coffee available for self-service. 3. When I arrived, there was someone at the front desk cleaning. They kindly showed me to my room and explained the various facilities. However, after 9:30 PM, the front desk is unstaffed? I guess you need to contact the hotel in advance for self-check-in? It's a bit inconvenient. 4. Safety concerns. I noticed my room door wouldn't lock? Although I was given a key card, it seemed like anyone could open it? Fortunately, nothing bad happened. Also, the hotel's main door isn't locked before 11:30 PM."

HOTEL MARGUERITE

9.4/10
Amazing

Location wise, Marguerite Hotel is almost perfect - nearest exit is Myeongdong Exit 1 (bonus as it comes with escalator), the Daiso that is a must visit for all tourists, near to Namsan Tower, airport limousine bus (right across Hotel Prince), and of course, just opposite the Myeongdong shopping heaven. You can always return to the hotel to stash your stuffs or for a quick refresh. For Muslim travellers, ”Lepakla” restaurant is just 5 steps away from the hotel, and near to Kampungku and Mari Meokja. Facilities like water dispenser (located at Ground Floor and second floor), tea and coffee is available 24/7. Iron is available upon request, bur ironing in your hotel room requires a bit of creativity as the size of the room could not accommodate luggages, let alone an ironing board. The projector in the room was a nice touch, I asked the receptionist how to use it and he said I need to connect it to my own laptop. But I don't carry HDMI cables around, especially when travelling. So after fiddling with the remote, I found out that I don't need to conect it to my laptop after all, as YouTube and Netflix is already readily available on the projector. The down side is, the size of the room. I managed to lay open my 26 inch luggage, but that leaves me no more room for other things. But the worst part is, the service of the hotel. Due to my bad knees, I have made a request for a room on lower floors via Trip. Upon check-in, I politely requested again for a room on lower floors. However, I was assigned to a room on the highest floor. The staff said nothing could be done, which was really disappointing. The staff offered to bring my luggage to the room, which I was grateful for, however, I had to drag my luggages all the way from fourth floor through the narrow staircase all the way down, resulting damage to my luggage. So if going up and down the staircase (there's no elevator/lift), is an issue, you might want to check out other places instead.

The Shilla Seoul

My stay perfectly matched my expectations for The Shilla Seoul; if you're looking for an old-money vibe, this is a great fit. Hardware-wise, for a hotel with some history, it felt newer than I anticipated, and the crystal chandelier in the lobby is absolutely stunning. The room size was just right, with a wet and dry bathroom featuring a separate shower and bathtub. The windows and the view from the room are a major highlight. Even though my room this time didn't face Namsan Tower, it was still excellent. You'll need to bring your own toothpaste and toothbrush, but cotton swabs and shower caps are provided. The mini-fridge, snacks, and minibar are all chargeable. In terms of service, from getting out of the car to reaching my room, it met the high standards of a five-star hotel. The front desk staff spoke excellent English, and one even spoke Chinese to me during checkout (though I don't expect all of them to). This time, I also made sure to try the Room Service. The menu is in the desk drawer, and you can order using the in-room phone. The fried chicken and fries were very good; the portion was easily enough for two people or more. Regarding amenities, the bakery on the first floor of the hotel was bustling, mostly with local Koreans. I thought the taste was good, and the salt bread was particularly nice. The hotel lobby was almost always full, and there were constant business meetings and events happening on the left side, so you see a continuous stream of locals. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus, but you need to check the schedule carefully. Since I didn't use it, I can't offer advice. On either side of the hotel are Aesop and Moynat stores, and Shilla Duty Free is just a five-minute walk away. If your itinerary is well-planned and not rushed, staying at The Shilla is a great choice. It's not far to get to Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seochon, Bukchon, Myeongdong, Seongsu-dong, and Hannam-dong by taxi from here. However, if you're trying to pack a lot into your schedule and rely mainly on the subway, it might not be as suitable. Seoul traffic can be quite bad. Personally, I would consider staying at The Shilla again. The service experience was very satisfying.

This was the second time I stayed with L7 Myeongdong by Lotte Hotels. The hotel is in a convenient location where airport bus station is just within a minutes walk and Myeongdong shopping streets are just next to the corner. Staff was friendly as usual and cleanliness was excellent. The hotel is also close to all pickup points of which the local tours I joined. Breakfast was also good and the laundry room is a bonus point. I will definitely stay with L7 if I stay in Myeongdong next time.

The rooms are clean and tidy, the service is warm and attentive, and the location is convenient with excellent value for money. The bedding is comfortable and soundproof, and the staff are friendly. The location is superb, within walking distance to the subway station and shopping areas, with plenty of food options nearby. Some rooms offer views of N Seoul Tower, and it's close to Euljiro 3-ga subway station. It's relatively quiet, about an 8-minute walk to Myeongdong. The hotel is in the city center, making travel incredibly convenient. Highly recommended!

Grand Hyatt Seoul

I always used to do my 'hotelcation' at Lotte, but this time I stayed at the Grand Hyatt, and it was an excellent choice! 🫶👍 I regret not coming to the Hyatt sooner, honestly. Haha. True Wellness Point 1: The location and views are perfect for a quiet hotelcation and refreshing stay. 🫶 Even if it costs more, absolutely make sure to book a Namsan view or Han River view room! There's no need to wait in line at crowded cafes or rooftop cafes in the heat; you can relax in your room and fully enjoy a cafe-like atmosphere. If you convert time into money, this is much more reasonable. 🍀 Cafes in the central Hannam-dong area typically charge 5,500 to 7,500 KRW for an iced Americano. Hotel guests can buy an iced Americano from the 1st-floor deli for 6,500 KRW. ❤️ Wellness Point 2: There's a walking path connected to Namsan, so you can take a stroll after breakfast or even walk to Namsan Tower along the trail. ⭐ Truly the best! 🤗 Another great tip 👉 If you exit through the side path in the parking lot to the left of the hotel's main entrance (instead of the main entrance itself), you'll find Korean restaurants, convenience stores, and rooftop cafes. If the breakfast feels a bit too rich, you can easily balance it with some Korean food. ✨ The central commercial area of Hannam-dong, Itaewon, and Haebangchon are all within basic taxi fare distance, which is very convenient. 🫶 Wellness Point 3: If outdoor activities are too difficult in the heat, you can visit the Leeum Museum of Art right in front of the hotel to enjoy an exhibition and find some mental relaxation. Downsides: If I had to find any, the gym gets crowded. You need to be quick for breakfast. And if you go to the deli shop late in the afternoon, the salads are often sold out.

I stayed at the VOCA Hotel Seoul Myeongdong (part of IHG) throughout my entire shopping trip to Seoul. It's hands down the most stress-free accommodation choice for exploring Myeongdong, Shinsegae Department Store, and getting to the airport. Traveling with luggage was completely hassle-free, so I absolutely have to recommend it! **Location & Transportation** are absolutely top-notch. The hotel is right next to Exit 3 of Hoehyeon Station on Subway Line 4, just a 1-minute walk after exiting. Myeongdong main street, Shinsegae/Lotte Duty-Free are only an 8-10 minute walk away, and Namdaemun Market is a mere 2 minutes from the hotel. This means you can drop off your shopping bags and clothes at any time without having to carry heavy loads around. The biggest bonus is that Airport Limousine Bus 6001 stops directly in front of the hotel. For your return journey to Incheon Terminal 1, you can catch the airport bus right across the street, no need for detours or subway transfers. This is incredibly convenient for those with large luggage, or traveling with multiple people, and perfectly suited for catching your flight on the last day. **🛏️ IHG Brand Quality & Exquisite Details** 1. The overall design is modern light luxury with warm tones. The lobby's blue and white marble color scheme is sophisticated and photogenic. The public areas, with their book and coffee corner, are great for relaxing and taking photos. Although the guest rooms are typical for a city hotel in Korea – a bit on the smaller side – the layout is very efficient. You can fully open and store two 28-inch suitcases without feeling cramped or crowded. 2. The double-glazed windows provide amazing soundproofing! Even though you're in the bustling Myeongdong area, once the windows are closed, you can barely hear the street traffic or people. With blackout curtains and a mattress that's just right – not too soft, not too firm – you can truly get a good night's sleep after a full day of walking around. 3. The amenities are incredibly thoughtful: a complimentary minibar replenished daily, a smart toilet, and a bathtub are all provided. The toiletries are from the British organic brand Bamford, with a premium scent and excellent quality. The high-floor 'tower view' rooms offer direct views of Namsan Seoul Tower at night, and once the lights come on in the evening, it feels just like a Korean drama! 4. The hotel features an indoor pool and a 24-hour gym, perfect for relaxing after a long journey. The executive lounge on the 18th floor offers panoramic city skyline views, making it an excellent spot for an afternoon tea break and enjoying the scenery. There's also a 24-hour convenience store on the first floor, so you can easily grab snacks or water late at night. **✅ Service & Breakfast Highlights:** The front desk has Chinese-speaking staff, ensuring seamless communication. Luggage storage and route inquiries were handled promptly. Housekeeping was meticulous and thoughtful, even folding clothes that were left casually. The buffet breakfast offers a good mix of Korean dishes like noodle soup and simple kimchi sides, as well as Western options like bacon and bread. While the variety isn't extravagant, the taste is authentic and the ingredients are fresh, ensuring a satisfying meal even when you're rushing for your itinerary.

Location was strategic, one of the subway station entrance is accessible from the hotel. There was a convenient store right on the ground floor. We travelled from airport, we took bus which stopped nearby. It was manageable even with big luggage. Room with necessary kitchen amenities -microwave, fridge, pots/pan, knife, cutting board which allowed simple food preparation. There was a washing m/c with drying functionality that allowed us to do some laundry and don't need to bring extra clothes and could keep the luggage space for shopping items. However, since the room is not big, the noise from the washing machine may impact your sleep. Hence do it while you are away or still awake. Room is clean and with a nice view where N tower is visible from the room. Breakfast was simple but they changed menu daily. It was a combination of Korean and continental cuisine. I stayed there for 3 nights, there were no repeat of the dishes and all those tasted good. Unlike another chain hotel, have lots of choices but same dishes, even the banchan were the same daily.

Right outside Chungmuro Station, Exit 8 on Subway Line 4 – just turn around and you're there! It's about one stop from the busiest part of Myeongdong, either a walk or a subway ride away. There's unlimited self-service drinking water in the lobby. Rooms are cleaned every 3 days. The soundproofing is pretty good, so it's quiet, and the room itself is spacious with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom. The shower pressure is fantastic! And you can even see N Seoul Tower from the room, how cool is that!

Stayed at Myeongdong Merlin Hotel for a short transit and overall it was a good experience. The location is convenient about 15–20 minutes to Myeongdong Night Street, which is great if you want easy access to shopping and food. We arrived quite late (around 10pm) after traveling from Busan and checked out early at 5am to head to ICN airport. Even with the short stay, everything went smoothly. Check-in was quick and hassle-free, which we really appreciated after a long journey. We were traveling in a big group (18 people), and the hotel managed us well. Rooms were clean and facilities were sufficient for a short stay. Service was also efficient. Overall, a solid and convenient choice especially for short stays or transit in Seoul 👍

The only highlight of this hotel is the location as it is in the central of Seoul . Subway exit is just merely 2 minutes of walking distance with various restaurants and shopping malls too. Suitable for solo travelers who want a small private space to rest and at the same time keeping their stuff at the most affordable way .
