"The room was clean and tidy, with a good outdoor view, comfortable room, good location, and a small outdoor swimming pool. The service was also warm and thoughtful. The only drawback was that it was under the flight path, and there would be noise when the planes flew over, but there were not many planes in Nelson, so the impact was not too great."

"We stayed here on our way home from the South Island. The owner - Cobber was a lovely man and supplied us with a heater after we told him the heating in our unit wasnt working. The fan heater was not great but we werent too worried as we werent there long. The worst part of our stay was that the motel is in a suburban street and right across the road were 2 dogs behind a high gate. The dogs barked constantly at every single thing that moved or walked past their property. They were large and loud and acted like guard dogs, and it really was extremely annoying. This older motel is very typical of the dated tired motels that could really do with a modern makeover. Price was $170/night."

And finally when dropping off key on checkout didn’t ask how our stay was or anything so not happy with the service."

"We only stayed here one night but wished we could have stayed longer. You get a spacious apartment and outdoor terrace with beautiful sea views. The gardens are beautiful. The accommodation is located on a steep hill so you need to drive in and out with care. Nelson is a fantastic small city - we would recommend Melrose House with a lovely cafeteria and which is free to walk around. "
