The hotel is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, with excellent hygiene. All the staff are incredibly warm and welcoming. The location is fantastic, very close to The Bund. The in-room amenities are very thoughtfully provided, even including a projector. It's an excellent choice and highly recommended.

This time in Shanghai, I opted for the Youxi Hotel right next to Yu Garden, and it was a superb experience! The location is absolutely fantastic – just a few minutes' walk to Yu Garden and Chenghuang Temple, with an abundance of delicious food options all around. The room itself was spacious, clean, and felt incredibly cozy. It also featured a massive projection screen with a rich selection of movies, making for incredibly enjoyable viewing. The front desk staff were exceptionally warm and attentive, even surprising us with complimentary popcorn. I was thoroughly impressed and will definitely be back!

The moment I stepped into the corridor, I was hit by a strong musty smell. Inside the room, the decor felt distinctly old-fashioned and looked quite run-down. There was a layer of dust on the kettle, and even the towels were ripped. Mold was noticeable in the wall corners and around the sink, making it clear that the room couldn't withstand close inspection. On the positive side, its location is very convenient, being close to Chenghuang Temple.

The room was tiny and filthy. Although I had booked through Ctrip, they claimed no rooms were available upon my arrival and assigned me a temporary one. This room had cockroaches, and I even found plum pits under the bed. But the absolute worst was their demand for a positive review before they would refund my deposit.

The hotel is in a great location, just over 600 meters from Yu Garden, and very convenient for getting to Pudong and The Bund. There's also a shopping mall close by. The room wasn't very spacious. On the first day, the room we were assigned had a noticeable drain smell, but the friendly front desk staff promptly moved us to a different room, which was acceptable. The second day, the smell returned. We had to block the drain and run the air conditioning for over ten minutes before it dissipated. It was late, and we were too tired to request another room change. The wallpaper was peeling in some spots, and there was some dust on the table and TV, which we had to wipe down ourselves to feel comfortable. However, considering it was just over 300 RMB for a room right in the heart of the city, it's still pretty decent.

I booked this place mainly for its proximity to the City God Temple. However, for the price, the value for money was truly disappointing. The room was old, dirty, and quite dusty. On the bright side, the staff were very good. I checked in in the early hours of the morning, and they gave me a free upgrade to a room with a window. From the bed, I could even see the spire of the Oriental Pearl Tower.

Smelly all around the elevator , rooms and corridors . Unpleasant smells and ac not cold . So many dust in the room and the furnitures , what a horrifying hotel at shanghai . Never seen a worse hotel than this movie hotel And also they claimed to have projector screen , and it's also not working Worst hotel i've stayed in CHINA , i've travaled to multiple cities .

✅Only location was good… ❌And every thing was so bad; Not clean, Not fresh air (humidity), Not safe (they open your door while sleeping), Not responsive to complains, when check in (all the doors of rooms were open!), only one elevator. If you think the price they are offering is less than the other hotels: then you are burning what you are paying because its still money on bad experience. I hope they refurbish every thing soon!!!

Within walking distance to Yuyuan Garden and the bazaar, in a room which was a little run down but large and comfortable, at a very reasonable price, it's definitely a good choice.

The room was generally good. Next to the mall. But the toilet was awful. I guess they didn't clean it up in good manner. Smelly of urine odor. Had to spray with my perfume to cover it up.

Booking for two consecutive days and found out that asking them to clean the room while we are going out results in nothing being clean but only to organize bed sheet. Disappointed

The receptionist that spoke English was fantastic. She was so helpful in securing a reservation for us at a specific restaurant as my Chinese is not fluent. The hotel is in a good location, however it is very old or looks old. It is also just has that dirty look from being old.. My friend had the same style room however I only had a chair in the other room but she had a couch and coffee table 😑 It wasn't a big deal as we were gona most of the time, bit proper furniturewould have been nice. Everything was old and run down though. There is NO electrical outlet in the bathroom, very important to know ahead of time. So to fix my hair for the nice restaurant, I had to run to a mirror and then run to where the kettle was to curl my hair. There was no mirror put in the living space either. The last day a roach came out to die in between the doorway of the bedroom and the living space. Sigh haha. At least it waited till the last day. The water pressure is really good and great hot water. If they did a deep clean and updated their furniture I would stay again, but until then... or bought furniture so they could properly decorate haha.
