My stay at this hotel was exceptional, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. As a brand-new property, everything is modern, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully designed. The amenities are top-tier: free-use washing and drying machines, a well-equipped gym, a stylish lobby, and complimentary water.
Some standout features were the delicious breakfast served until 11 AM and the option to extend checkout until 4 PM for a small fee. The rooms have everything needed for a very comfortable stay.
A minor point to note is that the location is a bit off from the main tourist attractions. As a first-time visitor to Shanghai, I found I needed to rely on taxis but it was easily accessible.
But what truly sets this hotel apart is its staff. The level of hospitality, from the front desk to the restaurant, was incredible. A special thank you to Eric and a senior gentleman (who speaks flawless English) for their outstanding service, and to the wonderful ladies on the night shift. Their kindness and professionalism made all the difference.

I stayed at Hongge Hotel with my friends during my recent trip, and it was a pleasant experience overall. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay, including the wardrobe! The staff were polite and helpful, always ready to answer questions and provide directions - they even remind me of what I should do, which I have forgotten previously.
The location is super nicd, with easy access to the subway and public transportation, which made my trip even more fruitful. The hotel’s pricing felt very reasonable for what I had, for the quality of service and amenities provided 100% recommend to stay there!!!! .

The room felt abit older and worn out. While it was clean, it felt like quite used, not that well maintained. While the shower worked alright, it leaked alot along the walls. The hairdryer wasn’t quite safe to use, the toggle between the switch was stuck. If you don’t mind an older place that’s quite basic. While the room was big, I prefer better maintained rooms/ facilities - For the price they charged, don’t recommend for families.

Very incompetent staff, only a quarter speak English. After a quiet night and a trip to the provinces, I came back 48 hours later and requested a quiet room on a higher floor with the same standard to have a better view. Either I asked for a noisy room without realizing it, or they simply didn’t understand me, because I ended up right in front of the railway tracks — with a train passing every 1 minute and 30 seconds, shaking the lights. HOOOOOORRRRRRIBLE. I simply do not recommend this hotel.

I had a comfortable stay at this hotel. The atmosphere was generally nice, but the rooms were a bit dark and could use more lighting. While the cleanliness was average, it met basic standards.
The breakfast was a highlight—much nicer compared to other hotels I've stayed at, with a good variety of options. The staff were friendly and helpful, which added to the overall positive experience.
However, the fitness area definitely needs some renovation and better cleaning. Investing in yoga mats would be a great addition for guests looking to maintain their routines.

The hotel's location was easy to find, with plenty of dining options nearby. It's a tranquil oasis in a bustling area. The bedding was excellent, and it was wonderfully quiet at night. The expansive view from the window was a bonus. I usually struggle to fall asleep, but the complimentary goodnight drink combined with the peaceful environment ensured I had a perfect night's rest.
The service was also incredibly attentive. The staff were all soft-spoken, and their thoughtful guidance and detailed tips made us feel very well looked after.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The mixed noodles (拌面) and mini wontons (小馄饨) were exceptionally fresh and flavorful, perfectly complemented by a wide variety of fried egg options. It was a truly delightful culinary experience, definitely worthy of being on a 'must-eat' list. I would love to return and experience it again if I get the chance.

The hotel is in close proximity to the subway station at least 3 minutes walk. There's a mall across the street for food and shopping. Taxis are easily accessible and reasonably priced. The rooms are very clean, housekeeping service daily. My room includes a washer/dryer, fridge, stove and microwave. The staff have gone above and beyond and I KNOW because I work in the hospitality industry. Big thanks to Juliet at the Front Desk. My room attendant Sicily, she's the best!!!!! Room supervisor Cindy. I have extended my stay an extra week because everyone has been so AWESOME!!!!! I have a 15 night stay in China so I booked a week at this property to have a feel of the place before committing to 15 nights, yes I am WOWED!! They have all won me over!! There's a server at breakfast that's absolutely outstanding, I will get her name on my next review. Thanks to all the staff for all the hard work you do!!! Continue to shine!!!!

While not too far from a metro station, there are few, actually, non-existent restaurants or other amenities nearby. The staff was pretty generous with water bottles and service was not bad. There was a bit of construction going on, but not disruptive to the hotel operations or guests. Breakfast was included, but uninspiring. The breakfast could be improved by heating up the food or keeping it warm.

The 25th-floor lobby was impressive with powerful air conditioning. However, a faint sour odor lingered in the air. The elevators to the upper floors were very smooth but lacked air conditioning.
Breakfast on the 26th floor was split into Chinese and Western sections. The food stations were quite spread out. The Western section had good AC, but the Chinese section was uncomfortably hot due to insufficient cooling.
We stayed in room 4901. The view was excellent, but the bedding was very ordinary, and there was noticeable dust.
The main issues were:
1. The air conditioner was incredibly noisy.
2. Its cooling performance was completely inadequate. I'm unsure if this was due to a fixed thermostat setting or a system restriction, but I woke up twice during the night because of the heat. (We called maintenance around 2 AM, and after some adjustment, it was slightly better... A fan was requested and delivered around 3 AM). This is how my child and I ended up enduring a noisy and hot stay in what's supposedly a five-star hotel.
Regarding service, despite making several calls during the night, there was no follow-up from staff whatsoever. This lack of proactivity and communication feels quite outdated in today's hospitality industry, indicating a clear lack of handover between shifts.

In addition to the poor air quality, you can only turn on the air conditioner the whole time, which will be relatively dry. The air is stuffy. It's quite quiet. The most convenient thing about it is that it is close to the subway entrance, so it is easy to travel around. There are no large shopping districts around, so it is fine for pure living. There are many pricing channels, including store price, platform price, online price, and internal membership price. Offers vary.

GGuest UserThe bathroom in the room is very clean, the bedding is very comfortable, and there are warm lights, curtains, and card storage cabinets by the bed. It is a very thoughtful design. There is air conditioning in the room. I felt very good after staying there for a few days. My roommates are also relatively quiet and polite. If you have any needs, tell the front desk and they will actively respond and solve them. I recommend the experience!

The staff are friendly and rooms have all the amenities including air conditioning, free wifi, toiletries, towels, hair dryer, toothbrush, shampoo and soap. It is very close to Global Harbor shopping mall where there are tons of places for dining, coffee and shopping. Close to metro to go anywhere in the city.

While there are no windows, they've ingeniously drilled two holes for ventilation. I appreciate the disposable cups – honestly, I wouldn't even trust the ones in luxury hotels. The young woman at the front desk was very friendly and approachable. I'd recommend this place for anyone on a tight budget who just needs a comfortable place to sleep for the night.

AAnonymous UserIf you are used to traveling in China, the room is just about acceptable. It was a Chinese student dormitory-level room, far from as clean as the photos on the website.
The website says the rooms are on the 16th, 19th, and 29th floors, but in reality they are on the 3rd to 30th floors, so we were assigned a room on the 10th floor.
The noise from lines 3 and 4 is loud, so if you are not used to it, it is best to avoid it.
We stayed for 4 nights and the towels were never changed, and the elevator to the entrance on the 2nd floor was broken both going up and down, so it was difficult to carry our luggage.
It was convenient that it was close to Exit 10 of Zhongshan Park.
