The view of the Dal Lake that we got from our balcony or while eating at the restaurant or walking around the property, in one word - magical. The entire Dal Lake surrounded by the Zabarwan Mountains at sunset is a sight to behold. The rooms were spacious and very well maintained. The property is immaculately maintained and really beautiful with such a wide variety of flowers blooming everywhere. The breakfast and dinner buffet spreads were absolutely scrumptious and always led to confusion regarding what to have as everything looked so good. But lastly, a huge shoutout to all the staff - from the helpdesk, housekeeping, restaurant and others. They are the ones who made our stay so magical!"

Dinner have to be booked in advance before 3PM. No much places around to get food and it becomes difficult."

Houseboat New Golden Flower
"strongly advise staying away from this place, as it appears to be a tourist scam with fabricated reviews. Before making a reservation, keep in mind that the houseboat is located on Nagin Lake, despite sometimes being falsely advertised as being on the quieter side of Dal Lake. In reality, it is far from Dal Lake and doesn't come close to matching its beauty. Furthermore, the houseboat was touted as an old and iconic one, but it turned out to be quite ordinary with basic interiors and minimal amenities. The pricing, in the name of legacy, is exorbitant for what it offers. There was no heating or cooling equipment, and a persistent foul smell lingered due to plumbing issues. Upon arrival, we were left unattended because the staff had supposedly gone to a wedding. One family walked out due to these issues within an hour. To add to the disappointment, the manager, Fayaz, continuously brought shikara hawkers into our room, invading our privacy. He also kept pushing us to book a shikara ride despite us refusing multiple times. Moreover, since there was no food available or facilities to cook, we had to return to the city to get our meals. Strangely, when we checked out, Fayaz charged us 500 rupees for a 2-minute shikara ride we had to take to fetch food, and he ganged up on us. Please keep this in mind while booking since as a tourist you will need to go sightseeing, and every crossing will be charged. Normally, houseboats on Dal lake have their own shikaras for free movement of visitors. When we contacted the owners to complain, they initially empathized and promised a refund but then didnt pick up our followup calls. This place is highly commercialized, with tourists being their last priority. Please be cautious of such unethical practices. If you are considering this houseboat, I suggest you to book the houseboat in person (there is very less rush here, so you will get a space everytime and you can negotiate terms better) keeping all these factors in mind, instead of paying upfrontonline and being at their mercy."

"We stayed in delux room of Wangnoo Sheraton Houseboat (on Nigeen Lake), Srinagar in September 2023. The room allocated to us was of good size and the entire boat was very beautifully decorated. The food provided was homely and good too. The 'Captain' of our boat, Bilal Bhai was always around and available in case we needed anything, a very courteous and welcoming person. Yousuf Bhai (boatman / rower) took us on a Shikara ride through floating vegetable gardens, bed of lotus and lilies. It was a very calming and scenic ride. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking to enjoy a houseboat stay in Srinagar as it's quieter & less crowded compared to Dal Lake. We are thankful for all the hospitality and a warm welcome by Kashmir and the management team."
