Wow, this is the most beautiful hotel we have been to during our trip. Just go and see by yourself, favour a full chinese traditional experience instead of going to international brands. And the breakfast, amazing. Special thanks to Jinjin for her help at the reception !

Love the ancient feel of this hotel with court yard and winding path but inside each room is spacious  large  & unique!   Above all service is personable, friendly and helpful!!  And we had a wonderful stay at Gusu yard!!

My mother and I had a pleasant stay at Gusu Yard Xuanzhou. The staffs were all friendly and they tried their best accomodating us, even with language barrier. The place itself is gorgeous with lots of photogenic spots. Our room was spacious and well equipped. Breakfast (included) was huge and beautifully presented. Overall we loved our experience at Gusu Yard Xuanzhou and would highly recommend others to check them out.

Very friendly and helpful staff, the building is traditional and characteristic. Room facilities ok (very good shower with perfect temperature and pressure). In hindsight I wish I had booked one of the better rooms instead of a standard one because I think the level of comfort improves greatly. Breakfast is Chinese style, nicely put together. If you need coffee with your breakfast, please be warned that there is none at the property but you can just steps outside onto the Main Street and you will find several coffee shops for your fix. I do recommend staying at a Chinese traditional hotel rather than a modern hotel in Suzhou.

This hotel is beautiful. The staff was very nice and supportive ! My room was clean and surprisingly quite. The breakfast was good ! I’d like to come back soon !

Loved staying here, the only thing is that it's kinda hard to find but the staff was super helpful and came to us to help reach the hotel. The rooms are beautiful and big. Highly recommended.

The service from the staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really good.  The staff members, Xiao Chen, Xiao Li, Xiao Yao and Xiao Ma all helped to make our first and second stay very memorable.  They helped recommend restaurants, find tourist locations, adjust the heater and provide an early breakfast when we have to go to the train station.  The elegant and historic setting and the friendly and helpful staff made both our stays here very pleasant.  Highly recommended.

It was a pleasant stay, highly recommend if you'd like to experience staying in a chinese courtyard house (四合院). The staffs were all very helpful and accomodating. They have an amazing breakfast spread in a 9 tiled box, all different variety of Chinese breakfast. It's an amazing experience if you don't mind the rather thin sound proofing. There are some details that can be improved, for example, the carpeting should be changed since it felt a little stiff and old. There should be a hook to hang clothes while bathing, though they do provide bathrobes. P.S. I love the brand they used for toiletries.😉

We arrived late and the staff waited to check us in which was welcomed. Nice location although a little way out from the sights of Suzhou. Breakfast was not the best but the hotel is beautifully restored. The only downside of an old building is that it was very noisy early in the morning!

Beautiful hotel and great location. The room was beautiful and had everything you would need and was very clean and modern. The hotel is stunning. The staff were lovely and very friendly. The check in and check out was very quick and easy. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is a great old house, beatifully restored that really takes you to ancient times, but it feels really abandoned and important details are not considered. To keep such a establishment other type of management needs to be put in place. Aspects like the super dirty moquette in rooms or the ridiculous breakfast (both Chinese and foreign clients were absolutely shocked) can be easily improved. Definitely such an investment to restore a beatiful place needs better management.
