"Residence well placed 1 km from the city centre. Sympatic home by the responsible, Isabelle. Correct building but would still deserve a good sparkling. The entrance is overrun by the estates. The studios are pleasant and have a lot of rooms but there are no electrical catches and a sabble door in the shower. A bemol: at the floor of the sea view is partly hidden by trees that were left to grow and which were not on the photos of the website of Pierre et Vacances. The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable."

"The hotel isn't far from Deauville train station, but it's quite close to the boardwalk on Trouville beach. However, this Mercure hotel was truly disappointing. Due to the French railway strike, our previous reservations had been adjusted. The hotel staff didn't check their emails carefully and kept assuming the reservations were cancelled. Only after repeated reminders did they check their emails. Then, because the room wasn't prepared in advance, or perhaps they were checking their accounts to see if the payment had been received, we had to stand and wait for a full half hour. Next, the twin room we booked wasn't available, and we might have to readjust. We agreed to a double room, but insisted on seeing the room first. The staff randomly led us to a room, which turned out to be a disabled room. We refused and then they adjusted it to a standard double room. The room had an unpleasant smell, the window faced a garbage can, and flies swarmed around the room that wouldn't leave no matter how much we shooed them away. It's unbelievable that this was a Mercure… Luckily, we were only staying one night… If you're going to Deauville or Trouville, book your Mercure in Deauville well in advance…"

"I chose this hotel because I love French sea/harbour front hotels. On arrival the man on reception was very welcoming and upgraded me to the next level because the hotel wasn't full. Since there is absolutely NO free parking in Trouville he persuaded me to take advantage of the hotel's private parking @ 15 euros a day. Street parking is 9 euros a day but you cannot guarantee where you'll be able to park. The hotel's parking area was a quite a walk back to the hotel, so I only took what I needed for two nights. As it turned out I only stayed one night. The room was very comfortable and clean but nothing really special. I had a side view of the harbour and street, but I wonder what my original room would have been like if this was an upgrade. Pillows were not standard size, but two small squares. Shower very underpowered. However paying 15 euros for breakfast is a rip off. Fruit juice, tea and bread with a selection of jam. I expected at least to have a choice of eggs after all the breakfast room is on top the restaurant kitchen, where substantial lunches are prepared for the hotel staff. There was a cafe around the corner that served omelettes for 8 euros but was closed. Had I had the time I would have tracked down another cafe. But as there were no tea making facilities in the room I was desperate for a cuppa. Why no tea making facilites? There are other hotels where parking and breakfast is included in the daily rate. If I travel again to Trouville I'll stay in one of those."
