Poetic and picturesque Jiangnan

This time in Hangzhou, I also visited two ancient towns, Xitang and Wuzhen, where I experienced a different kind of small bridge and flowing water residence. Considering the transportation issue, I joined a one-day tour of Xitang and Wuzhen Xizha, visiting Xitang in the morning and Wuzhen in the afternoon. I think this itinerary was very well arranged. Xitang ancient town is more primitive and simple, with wider water surfaces. Taking a sculling boat in, it costs 70 yuan for half an hour, with 8 people per boat, leisurely reaching the core area of the scenic spot. The willows on both sides cast a shade, with white walls and black tiles. It was overcast that day, with a drizzle, which added to the feeling of the misty rain in Jiangnan, as poetic as a painting. After getting off the boat, I strolled through the streets and alleys of the ancient town. The two-kilometer-long Misty Rain Corridor is very distinctive, as well as the very narrow Stone Skin Alley. Lunch was settled here, ordering local specialty dishes. The lotus leaf chicken was good, the rest were average. It takes about 40 minutes to travel from Xitang to Wuzhen. Wuzhen is a newly built ancient-style architectural complex, famous for the Time-honored Water Town, Internet Conference, and Drama Festival, with a strong commercial atmosphere, but the service facilities are very good. Several tourist rest areas have been set up, where you can sit and rest when tired, read books, and drink tea. The guide said that in this place, scanning a power bank with Alipay is free of charge. Xizha is just a commercial street where you can eat snacks. The scallion-stuffed bun, spring rolls, and baked buns are all very good, with many people in line. The most distinctive feature is the night view here. When the lights are on at night, the warm yellow light reflects on the water surface. Sitting on the shore, listening to the sound of water, watching the boats, just like the poem by Bian Zhilin, you are on the bridge watching the scenery, and the person watching the scenery is on the boat watching you. The bright moon decorates your window, and you decorate someone else's dream.
