Hotel near Ocean Flower Island,Danzhou 60% of visitors choose this area
MMaotaikun 2026.03.18
February 21, 2026 – Stayed in a Sea View Family Room During our Spring Festival trip to the western side of Hainan, Ocean Flower Island was a crucial stop. We planned a two-night stay and, for convenience, chose the highly acclaimed Oubao Hotel on the island. 1. **Parking:** If you're driving, you can directly access the island and navigate to the Oubao Hotel. There's an underground parking lot, and if it's full, staff can direct you to other nearby parking areas. For those leaving the island, you can register at the front desk in advance to enjoy free parking. 2. **Hotel:** The hotel is massive in scale. The majestic lion sculptures and fountain outside the main entrance are grand, especially at night with the interwoven lighting, it feels like entering another world. It boasts the most single-unit guest rooms in Asia, composed of four interconnected Y-shaped European castles, each with a unique natural theme: forest, ocean, castle, and glacier. Our room was in the Glacier Castle, with corridors and rooms featuring a blue and white palette and abundant glacier and animal elements. The ground floors of the four castles connect to form the hotel lobby and check-in area. The space is vast, with a cathedral-like glass dome ceiling. In the center below, there was a festive New Year display, a vibrant and joyful scene. On one side of the lobby, two grand, symmetrical spiral staircases descend from the second floor, one white and one red, both adorned with flowers, creating a noble and elegant photo spot. The lobby has four exits, each leading to a different castle. After checking in at the front desk, you choose your path based on your room. Each castle has over ten elevators. The entire process left me with one impression: grandness! 3. **Room:** Both the main room and the bathroom were very spacious. It had one large bed and one smaller bed; the small bed, shaped like a train engine, was a nice touch, and the bedding was comfortable. The room's decor and configuration were quite simple and standard, but the glacier theme, with polar bear and penguin elements everywhere, added a refreshing touch. The shower was good, and it was quite rare that the shower enclosure hardly leaked. The window faced the sea, but there was a garden green belt between the castles, so the sea was distant and not a spectacular, unobstructed view. However, we were lucky enough to catch the sunset on our check-in day. The afterglow of the sunset painted the sea, fishing boats, bridge, and villa complex in our view a beautiful reddish hue. This combination and visual experience were stunning and definitely a plus. 4. **Breakfast:** The breakfast restaurant had palace-like high ceilings and space, arranged in a long strip, which made the food retrieval path a bit inefficient. The dishes were abundant and diverse, with local specialties. During our two-day stay, we sampled Hainan Yi noodles, Hou'an noodles, coffee cake, coconut cake, pumpkin cake, and other local delicacies. My elder child loved the Hou'an noodles so much she had two bowls every morning. The dessert selection was also very rich. 5. **Other Facilities and Offers:** During our two-day stay, we experienced the following: On the first evening, we attended a music festival and firework show at the Guanhai Park, with discounted tickets for hotel guests. There's a free bus shuttle near the hotel entrance that goes to places like the Ocean Park and the Fitness Center. We took this shuttle on the second day to swim at the Fitness Center. The hotel's own pool was unavailable, but we could use the Fitness Center's pool for free. It's a standard 50-meter lap pool, and it was my first time experiencing such a pool. There's also a mini-train station on the island not far from the hotel entrance, but we didn't use it. 6. **Service:** All the staff we encountered were very responsible and professional, indicating a high level of overall training. In summary, it was a truly perfect stay, making it a top choice for accommodation when visiting Ocean Flower Island. Besides meeting basic needs for food, entertainment, and lodging, it also offered a sense of grandeur that is quite rare.

We had a few issues at first, but after some communication and coordination, everything was resolved wonderfully. They even upgraded us to a Red-crowned Crane room type, allowing both families to stay together, which made us very happy with the outcome. First, let's talk about the hotel's advantages: 1. The restaurant is fantastic, with an excellent view. While the food selection isn't vast, the quality is top-notch. I tend to have high standards for hotel breakfast, and considering both the ambiance and quality here, I was very satisfied. 2. The shuttle service is incredibly responsive. The hotel feels like it's spread across the entire mountain, so you rely on the shuttles to get around. They're fast and comfortable. 3. The room views are superb, and the rooms are very clean. The mini-fridge is complimentary, and the amenities are comprehensive. It would be even better if the drinking water wasn't Nongfu Spring. Here are a few suggestions: The gathering areas need some maintenance; I noticed some broken stair treads. Since the hotel is quite spread out, there should be more staff to ensure service. Also, better communication between housekeeping and the front desk could prevent many information delays. And honestly, the glass skywalk was a total rip-off – it was scorching hot and exhausting to walk on. You can skip these attractions and just enjoy the hotel itself.

After our trip to Shimei Bay, we arrived at the hotel with my entire family, including young children and elderly parents, along with several large suitcases. We were understandably quite tired from the journey. Upon arrival, it was clear that the hotel had a significant shortage of staff both inside and outside the lobby – a stark contrast to Shimei Bay, where service personnel were readily available everywhere. Although there weren't many guests checking in at the time, and the scene wasn't particularly busy, given our large group and numerous bags, I had to proactively request a luggage cart to make things easier. For a resort hotel that prides itself on the guest experience, the initial service response would be much better if it were more proactive and if staffing levels were more adequate. Regarding the room, the promotional pictures I saw when booking showed a sea-facing view with a visible beach. However, the actual view from our room was quite different from what we expected. While we could see the sea in the distance, our primary view was of the hotel's pool area, and the beach wasn't visible at all. The visual impression didn't match the promotional images. During the Chinese New Year period, the hotel organized various activities, some free and some with a charge, which is understandable. However, it was quite surprising to find that even digging for sand crabs on the public beach area required an additional fee. Compared to the hotel we stayed at previously in Shimei Bay, the activity planning here was indeed a bit lackluster. On the bright side, the breakfast was excellent. There was a rich variety of options, especially the Pandan Tofu Pudding, Pandan Pancakes, and various Hainan noodles. These were not only distinctive but also delicious, adding a wonderful culinary delight to our mornings. What truly impressed us was the mature food scene around the hotel. From Coconut Chicken, Wenchang Chicken, Ding'an Jumping Beef (which can be hotpot or BBQ), Baoluo Noodles, Hainan Noodles, to all sorts of desserts and snacks – the choices were incredibly diverse. This added a lot of local flavor and memorable gastronomic experiences to our trip. The hotel's beach area itself was quite good. The sea breeze, sand quality, and the overall experience were very relaxing and comfortable.

Our trip to Sanya led us to the Pullman Sanya Bay Oceanview Resort, and we were absolutely delighted by the service from our butler, Lily, throughout our stay. She deserves a huge shout-out! Even before we checked in, Lily proactively reached out, offering thoughtful reminders about our itinerary and helping us secure a high-floor ocean view room. The moment we opened the window, we were greeted by the stunning sunset over Coconut Dream Corridor – the view was absolutely breathtaking. During check-in, she was with us every step of the way, patiently explaining the hotel's facilities and even presenting us with welcome fruits and a small gift. Our room was spotless, and the separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom were a thoughtful touch. The mini-fridge and high-end toiletries were all there, and Lily even went the extra mile to bring us soft bathrobes – truly, every detail was perfect. Just a 30-meter stroll brought us to the private beach, where the sand was incredibly fine. Watching the sunset there in the evening was incredibly therapeutic. The 2100㎡ outdoor pool features a kids' splash area, and our little one had an absolute blast. Lily was always on hand to help take photos, offer water, and even proactively recommended some authentic local seafood restaurants, which saved us from many potential tourist traps. Breakfast at the Fuwan Restaurant offered an incredibly wide selection, and the freshly made Hainanese Yi Mian soup was absolutely delicious. Children under 1.2 meters eat for free, which was a huge relief for us traveling with a child. At checkout, Lily helped us with our luggage and even gave us a souvenir. Her service was efficient and gentle throughout, making us feel like we were with a friend. Overall, the experience was perfect – the location, facilities, and service were all impeccable. A special thank you to our butler, Lily, for her exceptional dedication! We'll definitely choose this hotel again on our next visit to Sanya. Highly recommended!

I wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem of a hotel – my entire stay was absolutely flawless! From the warm welcome at check-in to the kind farewell at check-out, the service was professional and incredibly thoughtful throughout, with attention to every detail that exuded quality. The room layout was well-designed, with excellent ventilation and natural light, making for a wonderfully quiet rest. The dining was delicious, and the location was super convenient for getting around and exploring local eateries. It's perfect for both short trips and longer stays, truly five-star quality. I've already recommended it to friends and family, and I'll definitely be back for future stays!

This isn't just a sea-view hotel, it's right by the sea! The moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted by a lovely scent. Ivy, the front desk attendant, greeted me with a warm smile and processed my check-in. Seeing I had a child with me, she even proactively added me on WeChat to better assist me, which was a huge plus! After check-in, she also brought over a children's toothbrush. These small details really show the hotel's human-centric care and corporate culture. We originally planned to stay for just one night, but the excellent service made us extend our stay for two more days.

Choosing Le Méridien Shimei Bay for our family trip with kids was a fantastic decision! The hotel has an excellent child-friendly atmosphere. The kids' club is clean and safe, with a wide variety of indoor and outdoor play areas. Our child could play all day without getting tired. The beach has fine, gentle sand and clean water, perfect for digging, collecting shells, and playing in the waves. Adults can relax and enjoy the scenery while feeling the sea breeze. The room was spacious enough, and the children's amenities were well-prepared in advance, including a cot and toiletries for kids, which showed great attention to detail. The breakfast offered a wide variety, with pastries, fruits, and porridges that kids love. All the staff were very gentle and enthusiastic, always greeting us and even helping to look after our child, which was very heartwarming. The entire resort was quiet and uncrowded, with large lawns and kid-friendly pools, making it comfortable for strolls and playtime with the little one. It's away from the hustle and bustle, providing a one-stop solution for dining, accommodation, and entertainment. It's definitely our top choice for a family vacation with kids, offering perfect value for money and an excellent experience!

The concierge upgraded us to a sea-view room, which had a fantastic view. The bed was large enough and very comfortable. The greenery on the ground floor of the hotel was also lovely, and there were even evening performances. The only downside was the mini-bar, which only had two or three cans of Coke and Sprite and no snacks. However, the concierge later sent up desserts and small cakes. On the other hand, the hotel breakfast offered a wide variety and tasted great. For a vacation, the Westin is definitely a worthwhile choice.

I cannot begin to describe how good this place is! First of all, they kindly gave us a free upgrade as there was building happening beneath our room and I’m allergic to dust. It must of been the nicest place we have ever stayed. They told us we had a Butler and Eason our Butler added us on WeChat. I thought ‘whatever would we need a butler for?’ Well I had a headache and he ordered and delivered medication then we ordered takeaway twice off Dianaping app and he translated and ordered it for us. Even when the pool towels had run out, he had some delivered to us at the pool! Incredible! The buffet breakfast was perfect every day for 6 days too! We liked walking to the night market, on the path by the water, and we ate at the nearby basic cheap restaurants. The convenience store at the bottom of the building is great too. Also, there’s a proper gym right there that is free to go to if staying at the hotel and it has a squat rack with 20kg bar. 100% recommend.

This stay was incredibly comfortable! The cafe on the top floor of the hotel is truly amazing, with a simple yet cozy decor. The greenery is arranged so pleasantly, making it perfect for both relaxing and working. The biggest surprise was the rooftop hot tub – the water was clean, and the high-altitude views were absolutely stunning. Soaking in it, feeling the breeze, and gazing at the city panorama was incredibly relaxing. Overall, the experience was excellent, and it offers great value for money. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting! 👍🏻

GGuest UserA perfect family-friendly hotel with incredible value for money! A huge thank you to our butler Krystal for all the arrangements! 1. **Check-in:** We cleverly avoided the Qingming Festival rush. Booked a Club Lounge package through Ctrip, and the price was fantastic – no surcharge, what a steal! 2. **Room:** The sofa bed converts into a double bed, making it perfect for 2 adults and 2 children – plenty of space! It was like having two king-sized beds, no need to squeeze together. Our butler had already added us on WeChat, so we checked in promptly at 3 PM and even got an upgrade to a sea-view room on a higher floor, close to the elevator – brilliant! 3. **Food:** Breakfast could be enjoyed either in the main building or the Club Lounge. The main building offered more variety but was busier, while the Club Lounge was more refined. My husband loved the Roujiamo (Chinese hamburger), and we also enjoyed jackfruit, pineapple, star fruit, and diced blueberries and strawberries. Afternoon tea included cakes and coffee. Dinner, served at 4:30 PM, featured five or six hot dishes, fried noodles, fruit cake, and coconut cooling soup. Eating brunch and then afternoon tea/early dinner was enough for the whole day! We didn't even need to order takeout once. 4. **Kids' Activities:** So many activities! * **Daytime:** When it was hot, we went to the Adventure Park (our butler gave us free tickets, yay!). There was complimentary face painting (the little princesses loved it!), and they could even change into princess dresses. Younger kids could play with building blocks, magnetic tiles, and a piano. Outdoors, there was a petting zoo, a zip line, and free mini-train rides (note the operating hours, not all day). The large lawn had hammocks, swings, canopies, and beanbag chairs. You could even climb coconut trees. There were also morning outdoor activities like frisbee and ball games. * **Evening:** After dinner at 5 PM, we headed to the pool for a bubble party. The heated, circular pool was perfect for swimming, and there was a massage pool. Lying in the pool, watching the clouds drift by, was incredibly relaxing! There weren't many swim rings available, though. * **Nighttime:** In the carnival area, there was go-karting, movies, trampolines, beanbag toss, and archery. There were also many classes, but we simply didn't have time to join any. 5. **Beach:** The beach just outside the hotel was very clean. It was just too hot and sunny, with no shade for sand play and no private umbrellas. But the sand itself was lovely and not dirty at all. We participated in a free crab-catching activity one evening, though it was quite challenging to catch any. 6. **Birthday Celebration:** Coincidentally, it was my birthday, and the butler surprised us with a small cake – thank you, Krystal! 7. **Travel Photography:** This time, we had photos taken of both the garden and sea views. The beach photographer also helped us out, as we simply couldn't capture the same effect ourselves. We stayed for five days and four nights, and I really miss those wonderful days of endless food and fun! We definitely felt like we could have stayed longer!

GGuest UserBanyan Tree Sanya went above and beyond to make my birthday absolutely perfect. They put special effort into decorating the bed for the occasion and kindly upgraded me to a two-bedroom villa. The villa itself was lovely, and the outdoor bathtub was a particularly interesting and enjoyable feature. I also added a few personal touches to the decoration. A special thank you to Lily Huang at the reception for organizing everything so thoughtfully—she also surprised me with a birthday cake and a small gift to celebrate. I would highly recommend Banyan Tree Sanya and look forward to staying here again in the future.

CCeeCeeCcService: The butler contacted me in advance, thanks to Jill for her excellent service. The hotel offers complimentary pick-up and drop-off service from the airport and high-speed rail station, which is fantastic! They also provide turn-down service, big thanks to the staff. Facilities: The facilities are a bit dated but still perfectly functional. Both rooms are quite spacious. There are two restrooms, but only one shower. This was a minor inconvenience for our family traveling with grandparents, parents, and a toddler; it would have been much better if there were two showers. Breakfast: The buffet offers a noodle station, Hainan Zao Po Cu (a local sour and spicy soup), and a good selection of Western pastries. Lots of foreigners, indeed! 😂 The Chinese restaurant serves Cantonese cuisine for lunch and dinner. We found a great value four-person set menu. There's also a dessert shop and a bar with a very comfortable seating area overlooking the sea. It's a great spot to relax with a drink, and the prices are reasonable. The hotel only has an outdoor pool, which isn't heated. The deepest part is 1.3m, and there's a kids' pool at 0.5m. Free swimming rings are available. The artificial beach is sufficient for kids to play in the sand, and complimentary sand toys are provided. They partner with a photography service and offer five complimentary photos. There are many children's activities, and we participated in a few. The instructors were very patient, highly commendable! While Dadonghai can't compare to Yalong Bay, the overall value for money is still good.

GGuest UserThe room was spacious with a partial sea view, and honestly, my stay here was even better than the luxury family room with a full sea view at Tianyu, which cost over 3000 more per night. Tianyu was incredibly chaotic and overcrowded, just a heads-up! There were even some inflatable rings left by the pool for guests to use, so no need to rent or buy, and the lifeguards were very diligent. A special shout-out to our butler, Tudou – their service was absolutely phenomenal. Unlike the butlers I had at Tianyu and Atlantis who rarely initiated contact, Tudou was proactively communicative from before check-in all the way until we left. I was extremely satisfied! The beach, though small, was lovely and well-maintained. The evening beach buffet was quite fun, and the performers were really nice and happy to take photos, which made my kids very happy.

GGuest UserI chose this hotel to celebrate my husband's birthday, and it was absolutely stunning! Watching the underwater world from our room was incredibly dreamy. Our private butler started coordinating with my birthday planner two weeks before check-in, cooperating fully, arranging gifts, and even asking about my husband's preferences to prepare a surprise cake and a huge bouquet. Besides assisting the planner, the butler also decorated our bed. To my surprise, they even prepared an underwater birthday message, which I had initially planned to arrange myself – another lovely surprise from the butler! We also had a beluga whale interaction, and my husband, while diving, specifically arranged to interact with me through our room's glass panel. In short, their service was outstanding, fulfilling every request! The breakfast spread was so abundant it couldn't fit on one table. Upon departure, they even arranged a car to take us to our next hotel, which was incredibly thoughtful. P.S. The gigantic osteoglossid fish was amazing! 🐟

Service: Our butler, Rose, was incredibly responsive and even arranged a late check-out for us. Excellent service! (thumbs up emoji) Facilities: There's a kids' play area, a water park, and a family pool with a very comfortable water temperature! The beachfront has a coconut grove and a lawn, perfect for taking photos! The 'Island Flavor' seafood BBQ buffet dinner for two: This dinner is definitely worth it! The ingredients are fresh and high-quality, and there's a great variety. The hot dishes and BBQ items all taste delicious! Breakfast every day is also fantastic! It's served for a long time, tastes great, and offers a wide selection. Recommended for family trips: They provide bed rails, a child's toilet seat, kids' slippers, toothbrushes, shower gel, and baby tableware. The kids' club also has a lot of activities.

GGuest UserThe room wasn't brand new, but it was perfectly acceptable – no musty or unpleasant smells. The resort itself is huge with multiple beautiful pools. We originally booked a garden twin room, but the butler was incredibly kind and upgraded us to a sea-view room on the 12th floor, and the ocean view was stunning! You do need to use an underpass to get to the beach, but honestly, it's not a long walk at all. Our butler was also very responsive to all our requests. Despite a couple of minor hiccups, we were extremely satisfied overall. This is definitely a five-star hotel that offers incredible value for money.
