Hotel near Ocean Flower Island,Danzhou 61.1% of visitors choose this area
MMaotaikun 2026.03.18
February 21, 2026 – Stayed in a Sea View Family Room During our Spring Festival trip to the western side of Hainan, Ocean Flower Island was a crucial stop. We planned a two-night stay and, for convenience, chose the highly acclaimed Oubao Hotel on the island. 1. **Parking:** If you're driving, you can directly access the island and navigate to the Oubao Hotel. There's an underground parking lot, and if it's full, staff can direct you to other nearby parking areas. For those leaving the island, you can register at the front desk in advance to enjoy free parking. 2. **Hotel:** The hotel is massive in scale. The majestic lion sculptures and fountain outside the main entrance are grand, especially at night with the interwoven lighting, it feels like entering another world. It boasts the most single-unit guest rooms in Asia, composed of four interconnected Y-shaped European castles, each with a unique natural theme: forest, ocean, castle, and glacier. Our room was in the Glacier Castle, with corridors and rooms featuring a blue and white palette and abundant glacier and animal elements. The ground floors of the four castles connect to form the hotel lobby and check-in area. The space is vast, with a cathedral-like glass dome ceiling. In the center below, there was a festive New Year display, a vibrant and joyful scene. On one side of the lobby, two grand, symmetrical spiral staircases descend from the second floor, one white and one red, both adorned with flowers, creating a noble and elegant photo spot. The lobby has four exits, each leading to a different castle. After checking in at the front desk, you choose your path based on your room. Each castle has over ten elevators. The entire process left me with one impression: grandness! 3. **Room:** Both the main room and the bathroom were very spacious. It had one large bed and one smaller bed; the small bed, shaped like a train engine, was a nice touch, and the bedding was comfortable. The room's decor and configuration were quite simple and standard, but the glacier theme, with polar bear and penguin elements everywhere, added a refreshing touch. The shower was good, and it was quite rare that the shower enclosure hardly leaked. The window faced the sea, but there was a garden green belt between the castles, so the sea was distant and not a spectacular, unobstructed view. However, we were lucky enough to catch the sunset on our check-in day. The afterglow of the sunset painted the sea, fishing boats, bridge, and villa complex in our view a beautiful reddish hue. This combination and visual experience were stunning and definitely a plus. 4. **Breakfast:** The breakfast restaurant had palace-like high ceilings and space, arranged in a long strip, which made the food retrieval path a bit inefficient. The dishes were abundant and diverse, with local specialties. During our two-day stay, we sampled Hainan Yi noodles, Hou'an noodles, coffee cake, coconut cake, pumpkin cake, and other local delicacies. My elder child loved the Hou'an noodles so much she had two bowls every morning. The dessert selection was also very rich. 5. **Other Facilities and Offers:** During our two-day stay, we experienced the following: On the first evening, we attended a music festival and firework show at the Guanhai Park, with discounted tickets for hotel guests. There's a free bus shuttle near the hotel entrance that goes to places like the Ocean Park and the Fitness Center. We took this shuttle on the second day to swim at the Fitness Center. The hotel's own pool was unavailable, but we could use the Fitness Center's pool for free. It's a standard 50-meter lap pool, and it was my first time experiencing such a pool. There's also a mini-train station on the island not far from the hotel entrance, but we didn't use it. 6. **Service:** All the staff we encountered were very responsible and professional, indicating a high level of overall training. In summary, it was a truly perfect stay, making it a top choice for accommodation when visiting Ocean Flower Island. Besides meeting basic needs for food, entertainment, and lodging, it also offered a sense of grandeur that is quite rare.

We had a few issues at first, but after some communication and coordination, everything was resolved wonderfully. They even upgraded us to a Red-crowned Crane room type, allowing both families to stay together, which made us very happy with the outcome. First, let's talk about the hotel's advantages: 1. The restaurant is fantastic, with an excellent view. While the food selection isn't vast, the quality is top-notch. I tend to have high standards for hotel breakfast, and considering both the ambiance and quality here, I was very satisfied. 2. The shuttle service is incredibly responsive. The hotel feels like it's spread across the entire mountain, so you rely on the shuttles to get around. They're fast and comfortable. 3. The room views are superb, and the rooms are very clean. The mini-fridge is complimentary, and the amenities are comprehensive. It would be even better if the drinking water wasn't Nongfu Spring. Here are a few suggestions: The gathering areas need some maintenance; I noticed some broken stair treads. Since the hotel is quite spread out, there should be more staff to ensure service. Also, better communication between housekeeping and the front desk could prevent many information delays. And honestly, the glass skywalk was a total rip-off – it was scorching hot and exhausting to walk on. You can skip these attractions and just enjoy the hotel itself.

After our trip to Shimei Bay, we arrived at the hotel with my entire family, including young children and elderly parents, along with several large suitcases. We were understandably quite tired from the journey. Upon arrival, it was clear that the hotel had a significant shortage of staff both inside and outside the lobby – a stark contrast to Shimei Bay, where service personnel were readily available everywhere. Although there weren't many guests checking in at the time, and the scene wasn't particularly busy, given our large group and numerous bags, I had to proactively request a luggage cart to make things easier. For a resort hotel that prides itself on the guest experience, the initial service response would be much better if it were more proactive and if staffing levels were more adequate. Regarding the room, the promotional pictures I saw when booking showed a sea-facing view with a visible beach. However, the actual view from our room was quite different from what we expected. While we could see the sea in the distance, our primary view was of the hotel's pool area, and the beach wasn't visible at all. The visual impression didn't match the promotional images. During the Chinese New Year period, the hotel organized various activities, some free and some with a charge, which is understandable. However, it was quite surprising to find that even digging for sand crabs on the public beach area required an additional fee. Compared to the hotel we stayed at previously in Shimei Bay, the activity planning here was indeed a bit lackluster. On the bright side, the breakfast was excellent. There was a rich variety of options, especially the Pandan Tofu Pudding, Pandan Pancakes, and various Hainan noodles. These were not only distinctive but also delicious, adding a wonderful culinary delight to our mornings. What truly impressed us was the mature food scene around the hotel. From Coconut Chicken, Wenchang Chicken, Ding'an Jumping Beef (which can be hotpot or BBQ), Baoluo Noodles, Hainan Noodles, to all sorts of desserts and snacks – the choices were incredibly diverse. This added a lot of local flavor and memorable gastronomic experiences to our trip. The hotel's beach area itself was quite good. The sea breeze, sand quality, and the overall experience were very relaxing and comfortable.

Out of the three hotels I stayed at for nine days in Sanya – Atlantis Sanya in Haitang Bay, Resort Golden Palm in Yalong Bay, and Pullman Sanya Bay Resort – all with sea view rooms, the Pullman had the most beautiful sea view from the room, and the sand at Sanya Bay was the most comfortable. The hotel staff were very warm and friendly towards children, always ready to answer questions and resolve issues, which was great. When checking out, my child didn't get to see Ms. Jiaojiao at the kids' play area and kept mentioning her even on the plane. Now, about the butler service, it was a bit disappointing. Responses were slow, usually taking over 20 minutes. Sometimes I couldn't wait and just asked the housekeeping staff directly for help, so I didn't find the butler very useful. At Resort Golden Palm, they provided a small yellow bag which was handy for carrying small items. At the Pullman, I noticed some children carrying Pullman-branded small bags. When I asked the butler if every room received one, they said it was only for VIPs. Honestly, it didn't really matter, as the Golden Palm bag worked fine. Then, the butler mentioned they had prepared a small bag and a teddy bear for me at check-out. My child loved the teddy bear, and I appreciate that, but the bag wasn't very useful by then; we wouldn't use it back home. I don't quite understand why they'd give it at check-out instead of during the stay. Anyway, I would likely choose Pullman again if I have the chance, but I hope not to encounter the same type of butler. Also, the breakfast wasn't very good.

I wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem of a hotel – my entire stay was absolutely flawless! From the warm welcome at check-in to the kind farewell at check-out, the service was professional and incredibly thoughtful throughout, with attention to every detail that exuded quality. The room layout was well-designed, with excellent ventilation and natural light, making for a wonderfully quiet rest. The dining was delicious, and the location was super convenient for getting around and exploring local eateries. It's perfect for both short trips and longer stays, truly five-star quality. I've already recommended it to friends and family, and I'll definitely be back for future stays!

The food selection was amazing, and the pho was especially delicious. The accommodations were great too – very quiet, and the bed and duvet were super comfortable. The hotel's pool and kids' play area kept both adults and children entertained. Being right by the ocean was fantastic; you just step out onto the beach. Plus, there's a jogging track, which is perfect for fitness enthusiasts. In the evenings, there was a singer performing English songs beautifully, creating a really romantic atmosphere. The service was also incredibly warm and attentive, from the lobby staff to the butler and even the team helping with pickups and drop-offs – everyone was so welcoming and thoughtful. It was a pleasant and satisfying trip, and I'd love to come back again.

This trip with my child was fantastic! The hotel environment was clean and comfortable, and they even upgraded us to a family room. The breakfast restaurant was also upgraded to the Horizon Restaurant, which had an amazing view. The overall feel was warm and elegant, with complete amenities. Kim from guest services was attentive, enthusiastic, and prompt in her responses, making our stay smooth and stress-free. The service quality was excellent, providing a top-notch experience. This is my top choice for traveling with kids, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again for my next trip. Highly recommended!

My experience at The Westin Shimei Bay was absolutely perfect! I have to give a special shout-out to our thoughtful butler, Xinxin! ✨ This stay at The Westin Shimei Bay was an incredibly satisfying experience from start to finish. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were met with attentive service that made the whole trip comfortable and pleasant. It definitely deserves a full five-star rating! I especially want to thank our butler, Xinxin! As it was my two elderly parents traveling, she was incredibly thoughtful and professional throughout. Any request we had was handled immediately, she patiently answered all our questions, and proactively helped us with arrangements. Her detailed and considerate service made us feel incredibly warm and well taken care of. We didn't have to worry about a single thing, allowing us to simply enjoy our vacation. Having such an attentive butler truly doubled the happiness of our trip!

I cannot begin to describe how good this place is! First of all, they kindly gave us a free upgrade as there was building happening beneath our room and I’m allergic to dust. It must of been the nicest place we have ever stayed. They told us we had a Butler and Eason our Butler added us on WeChat. I thought ‘whatever would we need a butler for?’ Well I had a headache and he ordered and delivered medication then we ordered takeaway twice off Dianaping app and he translated and ordered it for us. Even when the pool towels had run out, he had some delivered to us at the pool! Incredible! The buffet breakfast was perfect every day for 6 days too! We liked walking to the night market, on the path by the water, and we ate at the nearby basic cheap restaurants. The convenience store at the bottom of the building is great too. Also, there’s a proper gym right there that is free to go to if staying at the hotel and it has a squat rack with 20kg bar. 100% recommend.

This stay was incredibly comfortable! The cafe on the top floor of the hotel is truly amazing, with a simple yet cozy decor. The greenery is arranged so pleasantly, making it perfect for both relaxing and working. The biggest surprise was the rooftop hot tub – the water was clean, and the high-altitude views were absolutely stunning. Soaking in it, feeling the breeze, and gazing at the city panorama was incredibly relaxing. Overall, the experience was excellent, and it offers great value for money. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting! 👍🏻

GGuest UserA perfect family-friendly hotel with incredible value for money! A huge thank you to our butler Krystal for all the arrangements! 1. **Check-in:** We cleverly avoided the Qingming Festival rush. Booked a Club Lounge package through Ctrip, and the price was fantastic – no surcharge, what a steal! 2. **Room:** The sofa bed converts into a double bed, making it perfect for 2 adults and 2 children – plenty of space! It was like having two king-sized beds, no need to squeeze together. Our butler had already added us on WeChat, so we checked in promptly at 3 PM and even got an upgrade to a sea-view room on a higher floor, close to the elevator – brilliant! 3. **Food:** Breakfast could be enjoyed either in the main building or the Club Lounge. The main building offered more variety but was busier, while the Club Lounge was more refined. My husband loved the Roujiamo (Chinese hamburger), and we also enjoyed jackfruit, pineapple, star fruit, and diced blueberries and strawberries. Afternoon tea included cakes and coffee. Dinner, served at 4:30 PM, featured five or six hot dishes, fried noodles, fruit cake, and coconut cooling soup. Eating brunch and then afternoon tea/early dinner was enough for the whole day! We didn't even need to order takeout once. 4. **Kids' Activities:** So many activities! * **Daytime:** When it was hot, we went to the Adventure Park (our butler gave us free tickets, yay!). There was complimentary face painting (the little princesses loved it!), and they could even change into princess dresses. Younger kids could play with building blocks, magnetic tiles, and a piano. Outdoors, there was a petting zoo, a zip line, and free mini-train rides (note the operating hours, not all day). The large lawn had hammocks, swings, canopies, and beanbag chairs. You could even climb coconut trees. There were also morning outdoor activities like frisbee and ball games. * **Evening:** After dinner at 5 PM, we headed to the pool for a bubble party. The heated, circular pool was perfect for swimming, and there was a massage pool. Lying in the pool, watching the clouds drift by, was incredibly relaxing! There weren't many swim rings available, though. * **Nighttime:** In the carnival area, there was go-karting, movies, trampolines, beanbag toss, and archery. There were also many classes, but we simply didn't have time to join any. 5. **Beach:** The beach just outside the hotel was very clean. It was just too hot and sunny, with no shade for sand play and no private umbrellas. But the sand itself was lovely and not dirty at all. We participated in a free crab-catching activity one evening, though it was quite challenging to catch any. 6. **Birthday Celebration:** Coincidentally, it was my birthday, and the butler surprised us with a small cake – thank you, Krystal! 7. **Travel Photography:** This time, we had photos taken of both the garden and sea views. The beach photographer also helped us out, as we simply couldn't capture the same effect ourselves. We stayed for five days and four nights, and I really miss those wonderful days of endless food and fun! We definitely felt like we could have stayed longer!

GGuest UserThis is a true resort hotel. While the decor isn't the most modern, those seeking privacy will absolutely love it. Each room is a standalone unit with its own yard, and you hardly see other guests except during meals. The beach sand is quite fine, and it's mostly deserted. There's also a very photogenic pier that looks just like something out of La La Land! Our butler, Henry, was very responsive, even checking if we'd received our dessert at 9 PM. The front desk answered the phone on the first ring, and the shuttle was almost always immediate. Everyone's service was exceptional, really showing the quality of a five-star hotel. It's also perfect for a run; a 5k at sunset is absolutely delightful!

GGuest UserI travel for business a lot, and most of the time I choose Hilton. The Hilton Haikou has an excellent location and unbeatable views of the bay. You can see the entire Haikou Bay area, and even the long West Coast. You can enjoy the beautiful sunset from your room. Room service is prompt and thoughtful. There's a big exhibition these days, so it's very crowded, but the hotel's service and reception are well-organized, maintaining its consistently high quality!

CCeeCeeCcService: The butler contacted me in advance, thanks to Jill for her excellent service. The hotel offers complimentary pick-up and drop-off service from the airport and high-speed rail station, which is fantastic! They also provide turn-down service, big thanks to the staff. Facilities: The facilities are a bit dated but still perfectly functional. Both rooms are quite spacious. There are two restrooms, but only one shower. This was a minor inconvenience for our family traveling with grandparents, parents, and a toddler; it would have been much better if there were two showers. Breakfast: The buffet offers a noodle station, Hainan Zao Po Cu (a local sour and spicy soup), and a good selection of Western pastries. Lots of foreigners, indeed! 😂 The Chinese restaurant serves Cantonese cuisine for lunch and dinner. We found a great value four-person set menu. There's also a dessert shop and a bar with a very comfortable seating area overlooking the sea. It's a great spot to relax with a drink, and the prices are reasonable. The hotel only has an outdoor pool, which isn't heated. The deepest part is 1.3m, and there's a kids' pool at 0.5m. Free swimming rings are available. The artificial beach is sufficient for kids to play in the sand, and complimentary sand toys are provided. They partner with a photography service and offer five complimentary photos. There are many children's activities, and we participated in a few. The instructors were very patient, highly commendable! While Dadonghai can't compare to Yalong Bay, the overall value for money is still good.

GGuest UserEnvironment: As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the sunset and a refreshing ocean breeze. The hotel is absolutely stunning and massive! The coconut groves, lawns, pool, and sandy beach provide endless photo opportunities – it's just amazing! The room has a small balcony, and when you open the door, the view is expansive. Facilities: They had a baby playpen and bathtub ready for me. Although some online reviews mentioned the facilities being a bit old, everything I needed was there. Hot water was fine, hairdryer worked well. The only minor issue was the air conditioning wasn't very cold, but it was still acceptable. The small balcony was perfect for drying clothes quickly, which was very convenient. Hygiene: There were notices on the table about geckos, ants, and insects, but I didn't encounter any bugs during my stay. The cleaning staff were also very efficient. With all my baby's things making a bit of a mess, the auntie quickly tidied everything up for me. Service: My requests were met very quickly! I called for band-aids, to have dishes cleared, for room cleaning, to order a kids' meal, and for a late check-out – all were handled promptly! A special shout-out to Butler Tudou (Potato) – incredibly enthusiastic, proactive, and provided excellent service! Also, the staff at the pool area were very warm and patient, and they even helped me inflate my swim ring for free. Another highlight was the complimentary Magnolia photoshoot. The photographer was very professional. I just told him what I wanted, and he quickly found suitable locations and patiently helped me set up props. I initially thought the five complimentary photos would be enough, but after seeing the final shots, I didn't hesitate to pay for more. They made a perfect gift for my baby's first birthday 🎁. The breakfast and buffet dinner included in the package offered a rich variety of options and tasted great. The noodles for breakfast really suited a Hunan palate, and there were various snacks. Dinner was a DIY hotpot buffet, so we didn't eat out at all these past few days, even though it seems there's a food street nearby, haha. There were also some parent-child activities, but my baby was too young to participate. Overall, it exceeded my expectations. For a family trip, it offers great value for money.

GGuest UserI chose this hotel to celebrate my husband's birthday, and it was absolutely stunning! Watching the underwater world from our room was incredibly dreamy. Our private butler started coordinating with my birthday planner two weeks before check-in, cooperating fully, arranging gifts, and even asking about my husband's preferences to prepare a surprise cake and a huge bouquet. Besides assisting the planner, the butler also decorated our bed. To my surprise, they even prepared an underwater birthday message, which I had initially planned to arrange myself – another lovely surprise from the butler! We also had a beluga whale interaction, and my husband, while diving, specifically arranged to interact with me through our room's glass panel. In short, their service was outstanding, fulfilling every request! The breakfast spread was so abundant it couldn't fit on one table. Upon departure, they even arranged a car to take us to our next hotel, which was incredibly thoughtful. P.S. The gigantic osteoglossid fish was amazing! 🐟

Service: Our butler, Rose, was incredibly responsive and even arranged a late check-out for us. Excellent service! (thumbs up emoji) Facilities: There's a kids' play area, a water park, and a family pool with a very comfortable water temperature! The beachfront has a coconut grove and a lawn, perfect for taking photos! The 'Island Flavor' seafood BBQ buffet dinner for two: This dinner is definitely worth it! The ingredients are fresh and high-quality, and there's a great variety. The hot dishes and BBQ items all taste delicious! Breakfast every day is also fantastic! It's served for a long time, tastes great, and offers a wide selection. Recommended for family trips: They provide bed rails, a child's toilet seat, kids' slippers, toothbrushes, shower gel, and baby tableware. The kids' club also has a lot of activities.

LLost_in_the_JungleLet me first say, hotels are always looking for a good review, but I will only give a good review if I honestly feel they deserve it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Qixian~ the resort grounds are absolutely stunning. My husband and I were so pleasantly surprised to discover that the resort has been thoughtfully designed to feel part of the rainforest. Everywhere you look there are giant boulders, gurgling clear streams, ancient trees and hidden trails that make you feel you are walking deep in a forest. All you hear are the birds and the water rushing in the streams! We have travelled all over China, and this is the quietest, most authentic feeling nature spot we have ever experienced. In addition, there are so many hot springs you can choose to relax in, or you can use the hot spring attached to your balcony! The restaurant has a good variety and we liked everything we ordered, it was fresh and flavorful, we tried the pork ribs and braised tofu, both delicious, but the green coconut filled buns were a perfect ending! The lobby staff was friendly and helpful, and gave us all kinds of upgrades! You can get pickup on the carts anytime, but we preferred to walk and enjoy the beauty, the resort grounds feel huge, but honestly its well designed so you can reach any spot in 5-10 minutes. Also, they have all kinds of activities you can join. We really enjoyed the rainforest walk, the lady from the Li family that conducted the walk was so lovely, we could tell she really had a connection to the forest and just radiated joy as she showed us all the plants, it was one of the highlights of our stay! Our room was clean, the sheets were soft and the bed was comfortable. The view onto the palm forest was so relaxing to look at as we soaked in the spring. The infinity pool was spectacular, the setting is gorgeous and peaceful. The coconuts and dessert we ordered were really good, however, the drinks we ordered were awful and maybe they can get some more outgoing staff to work at the pool bar, maybe because it was winter time and less people are at the pool? Breakfast is served in a building that overlooks the river, there is ALL kinds of food, if you are a Westerner you can find fried eggs, toast, and pastries. But I recommend going to the area where fresh rice noodle is made for you on the spot, add toppings and fried eggs, it was delicious! There are some rustic areas to the resort- it feels a bit abandoned in areas, like its just too big to keep up with ie. Giant empty pools, some of the buildings look in desperate need of refurbishing, but overall we felt like the resort was truly beautiful and amenities really made this a great value for the price we paid. We are already planning to come back when we need a break from the city!

GGuest UserThe room wasn't brand new, but it was perfectly acceptable – no musty or unpleasant smells. The resort itself is huge with multiple beautiful pools. We originally booked a garden twin room, but the butler was incredibly kind and upgraded us to a sea-view room on the 12th floor, and the ocean view was stunning! You do need to use an underpass to get to the beach, but honestly, it's not a long walk at all. Our butler was also very responsive to all our requests. Despite a couple of minor hiccups, we were extremely satisfied overall. This is definitely a five-star hotel that offers incredible value for money. To top it off, they even thoughtfully extended our check-out time. Overall, a really nice stay.
