Hotels ok for a weekend slash couple of days in st. Ives as it is very local to everything within walking distance.
Hotel appears to have had its day, needs a lot of love attention.
Staff are friendly and welcoming.
Didn’t eat there but there are facilities to eat if you need to
I used the bar but the wine was served an hot glass that appeared just to have come out of the dishwasher but was somehow still dirty and smeared.
Bed was comfortable and shower was hot, room could do with new carpets and a repaint.
The whole place could do with new carpets, a repaint and love and attention. The details are being missed.
The room, bathroom, walk-in cloakroom is very miniature. The toilet door is located in the middle of a single bed and the distance from the bed is only one person. It is very clean and hygienic. The window is facing the open-air swimming pool in the courtyard. Our room is on the reception floor of the hotel reception, and the floor of the room is a bit low; The corridor is very narrow, there are three rooms in the corner of our door, and they are very close to each other. The room is soundproofed and there is no interruption to each other. The location of the hotel is very convenient, there is a supermarket 7 or 8 minutes away
Classic English hotel, my room was recently updated and clean; strange not to have daily cleaning service.
Small Single room with sea view was expected and very cosy. Appreciate the soft, thick new carpet. Also the single armchair was well used to enjoy sitting by window for the view.
Bathroom was brand new, modern and didn’t blend into environment which is a shame. The water from shower was either too hot or cold; also the shower head could not be fixed into the rail so needed holding up.
Restaurant meal was very nice, service was especially friendly and attentive.
I would stay again in the near future but remind other guests considering that this is a 3 star hotel so you should appreciate that this is meeting the expectations of this grading.
Overall daily service at hotel reception was well appreciated and always greeted when passing . Well done and thank you to the hotel staff!
It was excellent. A lot of unreasonable bad reviews about this place but the cleaniness was fine, facilities more than adequate, and the staff was friendly. The on-site restaurant was excellent as well, again great staff, and the food produced looked like the chef took it seriously too. i.e. homemade tartar sauce, homemade sweet chilli sauce, fresh battered fish. Good beer selection on draught too.
Warm welcoming hotel with amazing views. Both the breakfast and evening meal were delicious with excellent service. The room was spotless. Will definitely return.
The hotel is in a suburb, the suburb of Bodmin, next to a highway service toll station, but there are few food at the toll station, just McDonald's, Subway and a Coop supermarket. If you want to go to Bodmin town for a meal, you can't do it without a car. Because it takes more than 2 hours to walk. So in theory, it should be normal to take away food. We bought food and prepared to eat in the hotel lobby, and then the front desk staff came and said that you can't eat, our place provides meals, and you can't eat takeaway food. To be honest, this is the first time I heard this reason. I'm not sitting in your restaurant, can't I eat takeaway in the lobby? I've stayed in many HIXes in the UK, and I came across this one, which was arrogant and acted like it had a reason. Other HIXes will let you use plates and knives and forks. This one will only drive people away. I thought they wanted me to buy their wine, so we bought it, and after buying it, they still drove people away. It was really annoying. Later I thought he was discriminating. Because the table next to me was eating pizza, so, see.
We had 2 nights here, 11-13 July. We arrived late, between 10-11pm, and the counter staff was very friendly n helpful.
We did not manage to get dinner due to train delays but the front staff was kind to inform us that we could purchase some cold sandwiches and he would make sandwiches for us. 😊
The room price includes breakfast for which we were glad. We enjoyed the breakfast thoroughly.
The views from the hotel overlooking the St Ives beach is truly amazing. The hotel grounds were immaculately maintained. You must walk through their walled garden … it is well landscaped and very beautiful. It felt like walking in some professionally well curated botanical garden. 👍🏼

GGuest UserA lovely welcome as we were greeted at the Bar by Tommy and shown to our room. We went back to the bar and had a drink. The bar offers a good selection of beer lager and wines.
The room was clean and tidy and was great for a short stay. The bed was a double with a mattress that was a little soft for us, however that is because we do have a very firm mattress at home
The staff were very friendly and polite. Unfortunately due to our stay being on Sunday and Monday we could take advantage of the restaurant as it was closed for these two evenings but the menu looked very nice.
We paid for the breakfast for two mornings at £15 per head per day and it was very good. Yoghurt, fruit, warm croissants and cereals were on the table on arrival and then we were offered a choice of cooked breakfast, either a full english, bacon or sausage sandwiches and Scrambled egg with smoked salmon. We had an issue one morning however this was sorted out to our satisfaction.
We would definitely recommend St Tudy Inn for a short stopover.

GGuest UserClean, comfortable room with good heating - which was appreciated during a cold snap that coincided with our visit. The wi-fi was reliable, and there was a TV, tea and coffee making equipment and a modern bathroom. Contrary to what some other reviews say, the beds are comfortable with good pillows. There is no fridge or in-room safe, but we did not require those things. The staff were friendly and bar and restaurant facilities were available if required. The ”full Cornish” breakfast was good although not over large. The location is excellent for a range of local services and beaches. Constructive suggestion: add a soap tray in the shower. even if this is just one that clips on to the shower head riser bar.
GGuest UserEverything we needed for a weekend break. Loved the names of the apartments, quirky. Plenty of lights and a lovely colour changing mirror in the bathroom. The owner was very helpful. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk provided, along with towels, t-towel, dish cloth, washing up liquid and multi purpose cleaner. Cutlery, plates, dishes and mugs as well as a microwave, toaster, table and chairs. A lovely bathroom and plenty of room/space. Unfortunately we found the mattress not firm enough and not that we watch the television just put it on to wind down before going to bed. You couldn't watch live TV. You needed to log in on Netflix and channels like that to watch anything. That said we had a lovely weekend break
GGuest UserThe Premier Inn suited our purpose but can’t say the same for restaurant next door!
Biggest complaint was the fact no toilet paper in disabled toilet! Really embarrassing situation and the floor generally needed a good scrub. Noticed mirrors in restaurant could do with a shine, table tops were sticky, window ledges outside have obviously not been cleaned for months and skirting boards the same . It generally needs a good overhaul. Food nothing to write home about and very mediocre. This sadly reflects on the
Premier and would think twice about staying again.
Sorry to be the bearer of this sad report but being honest l.
GGuest UserThe hotel itself catered for our specific needs, nice big room, warm, lovely bed, hot shower, tea, coffee, biscuits in room. Swimming pool and gym on-site which were fab. The hotel is a typical seaside hotel, dated and could use a paint job and windows need a clean but this didn't bother us. Breakfast was lovely, your usual help yourself to cereal, toast, croissant, jam, butter, yogurt, fruits etc plus you can request a hot breakfast e.g. fry up, eggs benedict etc. The hotel is right on the seafront, about a 10min walk from Falmouth Town station and 20min walk into town. Staff were helpful and friendly.
