2-Star Hotels in County Dublin, Ireland

Facilities: This hotel is actually a hostel, and most rooms are sold by the bed. However, we booked a private room, and to our surprise, it was fully equipped with two separate beds and a private bathroom. Unlike some hostels that offer private rooms without private facilities, this one did. There's also an elevator in the building, which was very convenient for us with our large suitcases. Though, the elevator is a bit old-fashioned; you have to open the door manually. Cleanliness: The cleanliness was surprisingly good. Both the bathroom and the room were very clean. The only minor drawback was that the bed sheets and duvet had some pilling. Service: The service was excellent. After booking, they sent many emails with useful information about nearby transportation, restaurants, facilities, and hotel policies. I was traveling with my 80-year-old father, and he had no issues staying at this hostel. The building has a laundry room and a kitchen, making it ideal for travelers who want hostel-like amenities but prefer not to sleep in a dorm. Plus, the price of their private rooms is cheaper than other hotels. The location is very convenient, with a bus stop nearby that offers direct access to the airport. It's also about a 10-minute walk to the city center. There's a small supermarket and a large park in the vicinity.

The hostel is a little bit disappointing, if I’m honest. Pros: -very clean bathrooms -amazing hot shower -location -free locker (deposit required) -keyless -free coffee pods and water The biggest downside is the sleeping pods. They are incredibly squeaky and flimsy, every more you make makes a ton of sound. What does not help is the fact the rooms are pretty much empty apart from the pods, so there is virtually zero sound dampening. I kid you not, but laying in the pod I could hear stomach rumbling of the person in a pod above me. It was very weird and awkward. If you or someone is snoring/coughing- you’re done. The nights were not very sleepless. Additionally, no charging ports worked in my pod and I had to use the kitchen Other cons: -towels and sheets are cleaned, but they are overused. Although washed, they have old stains and are generally worn out If you’re looking for a social hostel - this is not it. There aren’t any common areas (apart from small backyard and kitchen, which are always empty) and the hostel does not facilitate any activities If only the pods were a bit more convenient and a tiny bit more soundproof, it would be much better, but this issue really outweighed lots of positives for me

The location is very convenient, the place is clean, and overall it was a great option for a three-day stay in the city. Unfortunately, one night was very difficult because there were two people in my room who snored very loudly and continuously throughout the entire night. I couldn’t sleep at all and eventually got up at 5 a.m. and went for a walk around the city. As a suggestion, perhaps the management could consider the issue of guests who snore heavily and create a separate room for them, similar to the separate room for women. Guests could indicate this in advance when booking. Alternatively, earplugs could be provided. Apart from this, everything was good, and I would otherwise consider this an ideal place for a short stay in the city.

The hotel is in the city center. It's a 10-minute walk from the Dublin Express airport bus stop. There are many bus options nearby to get to other attractions, and most Galway tour group meeting points are also in this area. The bathrooms and showers are very clean, and the staff cleans them frequently. The only downside is that accommodation prices in Dublin are generally very expensive.

I so much loved the lodge, it was so very clean, the location was so easy as it is just few minutes walk from the Dublin city center, the most amazing part is that the airport bus 41 stops right in front ot the Abbott Lodge so using google map is also very easy. The service is top notch and the reception is 247. Room so clean and the bed is big even with extra bed for kids.

I really enjoyed my stay. The pub is great in the common area. Amazing price for the pint. The people were also great, they made us feel very welcomed. The only thing to be aware is that some of the rooms have little space between the beds. So it can become a bit claustrophobic if you want to move around a lot. But I only used for sleeping so it didn't bother me.

The hotel isn't far from the station. The room was actually quite spacious, but the layout wasn't very practical, making it cramped when trying to organize belongings around each bunk bed. The top bunk was too low, and you couldn't even sit up straight on the bottom bunk. Underneath the bottom bunk, there were two large metal baskets for luggage, which looked big, but my 22-inch suitcase couldn't fit, so I could only use it for my backpack. There were no privacy curtains, but each bunk had a light, an outlet, and a small shelf. The room had a private toilet and shower, but the exhaust fan would loudly hum as soon as the light was turned on. You also had to make your own bed (put on the sheets, pillowcase, and duvet cover) and remove them and take them to the front desk when checking out. There's an elevator, which is a plus.

Great experience. The room was clean and smells good when we arrived. They provided the toiletries, utensils, and they have washing machine, tumble dryer, water kettle, and microwave. They have almost what you need. They are very accommodating, and responsive. The location wasn’t too far from all places that we went. We’ll recommend this hotel.

The beds are comfortable. Quite well located, not too far from the center (25 minutes on foot). The Yellow Café next door is excellent for breakfast. The shower for the room isn't actually in the room itself, but it's very close by, quite spacious, and clean.

The hotel is right next to a bar that plays music and has live bands until 2.30am. Our room was on the first floor the side of this, it was not good after a long travel day. The hotel itself was a good location and clean, if you’re going for nightlife I recommend, if you’re going for day drinking and a good nights sleep steer clear!
