The hotel is new with great facilities! It's about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit (Kyoto Station has two exits: Central and Hachijo). The location is excellent, quiet yet central! The room is spacious at 16 square meters, easily accommodating two large suitcases, and there's even a table with two chairs inside so you can eat in the room, which is fantastic! It's also very convenient for those joining day trips around Kyoto, as the tour bus meeting point is right opposite the Hachijo Exit.

So its very near the temples and attractions so thats nice. Also away from the kyoto station so consider that if youre also into that. The hostel allowed me to leave my bag before and after checkout so thats perfect. It is also clean and well maintained, though toilet locks can be a bit tricky. They also have a cafe below, then a place to hangout with people and strangers. Have small kitchen with everything in it. They dont have free rental towel so heres that but its fine. Overall i will recommend this to my friends.

The location is very good, just a few minutes walk from the subway station, but there are not many food options near the hotel, only convenience stores, and the hotel does not have an elevator. Guests with large luggage need to pay attention, because they need to carry their luggage upstairs by themselves

My four-night stay at Iwatoyama Hostel was truly fantastic, and it's definitely a place I'd love to visit again. From the moment I arrived, I felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The lobby is spacious and bright, and the common areas are tastefully and simply decorated, making it easy to relax, chat, or organize luggage. It’s also a great spot for travelers to connect.
The room was clean and tidy, with a comfortable bed and fresh-smelling linens, ensuring a good night's sleep every night. The bathroom was kept very clean, well-stocked with amenities, and had stable hot water and good water pressure. Throughout my four-day stay, I could tell the hostel paid great attention to cleanliness; the common areas were always spotless, which made me feel very comfortable.
The location is a major plus. It’s conveniently located near the station, making public transportation or walking to attractions very easy. There are also convenience stores and restaurants nearby, so finding something to eat in the evening was never an issue. It’s an ideal base for exploring Kyoto, saving a lot of travel time.
The friendly and welcoming staff truly enhanced my stay. The front desk staff provided clear explanations and patiently assisted with any issues, making me feel right at home. Even brief conversations showed their genuine care. They offered detailed advice on travel information and transportation, which was incredibly helpful for an out-of-town guest.
The facilities are excellent too. The communal kitchen is well-equipped, so it's easy to prepare simple meals. The laundry facilities are convenient, especially for guests staying multiple days. The overall environment is quiet and comfortable, with no noisy disturbances, allowing for a restful night.
These four nights made my trip even smoother and more enjoyable. The cleanliness, location, service quality, and overall ambiance all met or exceeded my expectations. If I return to Kyoto in the future, I will definitely choose this hostel again and recommend it to my friends. A big thank you to the hostel team for such a wonderful experience!

This is a very unique hotel. It has no central heating, making it impossible to sleep in the evenings and at night. There's air conditioning, which is supposed to replace the heating, but it's not up to the task. One downside is that the toilet and sink are located outside. Washing up in the morning requires all the strength you need to go outside in November in light clothing and wash your face with cold water. I didn't book food at this hotel, although they served watery rice porridge in the morning, which we ate reluctantly. One positive is that the building is 100 years old, making it truly the most traditional accommodation available at a low cost. However, be prepared to pay for ALL necessary services and amenities. Towels and face towels are extra, as are dental supplies. I definitely won't be returning to this hotel again when visiting Kyoto.

Excellent location. Very close to a konbini and all transport. Fast wifi. Free coffee. They provide towels and you can change your towel every day. On the 1st floor you can dry your hair with a Dyson hair dryer. There's also a hair dryer (a simple one) in the room. The shower has a shampoo, hair conditioner, shower gel and a garbage bin located very conveniently. There are also swabs, tissues and paper towels. There's a fridge and washing machines for 300 yen (coin activated) and a dryer for your clothes for 100 yen. I would definitely recommend this hostel for a friend

The place is super close to alot of mainstream attractions. Easily walking or one train stop away from Kyoto main station.
The host is super knowledgeable on the Kyoto attractions and very helpful. Everyone in the team speaks English extremely well . The place is super clean and very organized. You can see the love given to his place.
Dont skip the chat in the main lobby as you can learn alot from the host and other staff. Kudos for their passion.
Definitely a place for me to come back.
Very nice place with very thoughful owner.
There are some unusual things like closing the place from 12 to 17 and extra charges for luggage keeping, but it's ok for travelers, not for remote workers.
Owner keeps everything perfectly clean. He cooks amazing sandwiches for breakfast. They are enough for people who don't like to eat much for breakfast.
The place located in a living area with same small private houses nearby. No noise after 9pm. It's a renovated Japanese house. Great choise for those who want to live in Japanese house.

Amazing
MMumutu0417My Kyoto trip was particularly satisfying with this Kyoto townhouse. It had a garden, a private hot spring bath, and was brimming with Japanese charm. The breakfasts were especially delightful, with a wide variety and different dishes each day. After breakfast, there was also a traditional Kyoto matcha and carefully selected sweets; the owner even patiently explained the proper way to drink the matcha.
It's a bit far from the subway, but there are several bus stops nearby, making it quite convenient. Strolling along Kyoto's charming streets and discovering hidden gems of little shops was also a delightful experience.
GGuest UserKyoto was the main stop on this trip, so I had high expectations for this hotel in Omiya. It's about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto's most prosperous Shijo shopping street, which isn't too close, but still very convenient. There are bus stops and subway stations nearby, so getting around is still very convenient. However, if you want to avoid walking, it's best to book a room in Shijo. There's free housekeeping once every three nights, but we didn't tell the front desk before 8 p.m. one night in advance, so we didn't use it. The toothbrush was very difficult to use, much worse than the hotel in Nagoya.
GGuest UserVery comfortable, spacious room, a sofa, a large clothes, washing machine, shampoo, clothes towels, clothes, hair dryer, ready to go to many The day is recommended here, not far from the train station, there are many restaurants, very close to the safety of the bottom, a little narrow, a very large soup, there are many restaurants, a little narrow, the cover is a little narrow.
AAnonymous UserI stayed for two nights at Hashidate Bay Hotel and was initially hesitant to book, thinking it might be too far from Amanohashidate Station. The nearest bus stop is about a 5–8 minute walk, and buses run only once an hour. But based on the reviews, it looked promising—and I’m so glad I went ahead with the booking.
To my surprise, I was upgraded to a much larger room, almost like a four-person suite. It was huge, and the view of Yoshino from my window was absolutely stunning. I was super happy with the stay—this upgrade felt like a real treat. They even provided bath lavender, which I thought was just for the first night, but they refilled it the next day.
Since I arrived early, I left my luggage at the hotel before heading out to explore Amanohashidate. When I checked in later that night, I was pleasantly surprised to find my luggage already placed in my room. That was a big plus—so comforting after a full day of walking.
I wish I’d told them I was arriving early—the locker at Amanohashidate Station was too small for my luggage. I ended up taking a taxi, which could’ve been free if I’d arranged a pickup with the hotel in advance.
The breakfast was good too—my favorite was the prawn tempura. And the lady who dropped me off at the station was soft-spoken and very pretty. Overall, a memorable and comfortable stay.
GGuest UserAlthough it’s a bit far to the Kyoto train station, if you know how to take the bus, there are 3 bus stops + 1 Shijouoomiya train station which are really closed to this hotel (only 6 to 10 mins walk), which can lead you to anywhere of the tourist spots !! 👍🏻 hotel located in a quiet street which gives you a well sleep at night. 😴The hostel of this hotel are helpful, they helped us to return our kimono via the local post since we are rush in time to travel around. 📤 They replied the email daily and fast, at the first day we couldn’t find their reception to check in (Just found out it’s a self check system that they had already sent you a password to your email earlier). 📧 They helped us to take care of our luggage after we check out our room, as we were going to nearby spots after the living. All the facilities and equipment are clean, you can tell they had mopped the floor, clean anywhere of the kitchen, restroom and sleeping room all the way around and leaving with no dust. 🪣👍🏻 my conclusion is, I will definitely come back to book their hotels, their signature brand “Risshisha”, next time when I come back to travel again. Once again, thank you for your 5 stars services !! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

GGuest UserMy stay this time was fantastic! From the moment I checked in, the front desk staff were professional and incredibly friendly. The room decor was modern and clean, with absolutely no strange odors, and the mattress provided just the right amount of support, making for a very comfortable sleep.
What surprised me most was the excellent water pressure in the bathroom; the hot water came quickly, which made for a very relaxing shower. The hotel's location is also very convenient, with a convenience store and local eateries just a short walk downstairs.
JJohnsonswsEveb though the hostel is a bit far from city, the facilities are very good, staffs are super friendly, breakfast that I pre-booked is worthe the value, overall a nice stay in this hoste
VVeldaThis time I chose an apartment-style hotel, which is about a 1-minute walk from Exit 3 of Marutamachi Station on the Karasuma Line and a 2-3-minute walk from the Kinkakuji/Kiyomizu-dera bus stop. It is very convenient to reach various attractions. There are FamilyMart, 7-11, McDonald's, and supermarkets nearby. The room is spacious 👍, with kitchen utensils, oven, microwave, washer and dryer, electronic scale...all available. There is a large table in the room, which is a place where our family of five can go home every day to have late night snacks without being crowded. The teenagers enjoyed their stay very much and will choose this place again next time they visit Kyoto👍.
