GGuest User2026.04.05
The location is excellent, very convenient for checking in directly after a late-night arrival in Haikou. However, the room had an incredibly strong musty smell. I spent the entire night sleeping with that smell. Since it was already 2 AM when I checked in, I couldn't be bothered to ask for a room change. The front desk staff seemed untrained. When I asked if my Trip.com Diamond status qualified me for a room upgrade, she actually replied, 'Your Diamond status is from Trip.com, a platform, not from our hotel.' And the musty smell in the room they gave us was really overwhelming! Future guests checking in should definitely tell the front desk in advance to get a room without a musty smell!!!

February 21, 2026 – Stayed in a Sea View Family Room
During our Spring Festival trip to the western side of Hainan, Ocean Flower Island was a crucial stop. We planned a two-night stay and, for convenience, chose the highly acclaimed Oubao Hotel on the island.
1. **Parking:** If you're driving, you can directly access the island and navigate to the Oubao Hotel. There's an underground parking lot, and if it's full, staff can direct you to other nearby parking areas. For those leaving the island, you can register at the front desk in advance to enjoy free parking.
2. **Hotel:** The hotel is massive in scale. The majestic lion sculptures and fountain outside the main entrance are grand, especially at night with the interwoven lighting, it feels like entering another world. It boasts the most single-unit guest rooms in Asia, composed of four interconnected Y-shaped European castles, each with a unique natural theme: forest, ocean, castle, and glacier. Our room was in the Glacier Castle, with corridors and rooms featuring a blue and white palette and abundant glacier and animal elements. The ground floors of the four castles connect to form the hotel lobby and check-in area. The space is vast, with a cathedral-like glass dome ceiling. In the center below, there was a festive New Year display, a vibrant and joyful scene. On one side of the lobby, two grand, symmetrical spiral staircases descend from the second floor, one white and one red, both adorned with flowers, creating a noble and elegant photo spot. The lobby has four exits, each leading to a different castle. After checking in at the front desk, you choose your path based on your room. Each castle has over ten elevators. The entire process left me with one impression: grandness!
3. **Room:** Both the main room and the bathroom were very spacious. It had one large bed and one smaller bed; the small bed, shaped like a train engine, was a nice touch, and the bedding was comfortable. The room's decor and configuration were quite simple and standard, but the glacier theme, with polar bear and penguin elements everywhere, added a refreshing touch. The shower was good, and it was quite rare that the shower enclosure hardly leaked. The window faced the sea, but there was a garden green belt between the castles, so the sea was distant and not a spectacular, unobstructed view. However, we were lucky enough to catch the sunset on our check-in day. The afterglow of the sunset painted the sea, fishing boats, bridge, and villa complex in our view a beautiful reddish hue. This combination and visual experience were stunning and definitely a plus.
4. **Breakfast:** The breakfast restaurant had palace-like high ceilings and space, arranged in a long strip, which made the food retrieval path a bit inefficient. The dishes were abundant and diverse, with local specialties. During our two-day stay, we sampled Hainan Yi noodles, Hou'an noodles, coffee cake, coconut cake, pumpkin cake, and other local delicacies. My elder child loved the Hou'an noodles so much she had two bowls every morning. The dessert selection was also very rich.
5. **Other Facilities and Offers:** During our two-day stay, we experienced the following: On the first evening, we attended a music festival and firework show at the Guanhai Park, with discounted tickets for hotel guests. There's a free bus shuttle near the hotel entrance that goes to places like the Ocean Park and the Fitness Center. We took this shuttle on the second day to swim at the Fitness Center. The hotel's own pool was unavailable, but we could use the Fitness Center's pool for free. It's a standard 50-meter lap pool, and it was my first time experiencing such a pool. There's also a mini-train station on the island not far from the hotel entrance, but we didn't use it.
6. **Service:** All the staff we encountered were very responsible and professional, indicating a high level of overall training.
In summary, it was a truly perfect stay, making it a top choice for accommodation when visiting Ocean Flower Island. Besides meeting basic needs for food, entertainment, and lodging, it also offered a sense of grandeur that is quite rare.

After our trip to Shimei Bay, we arrived at the hotel with my entire family, including young children and elderly parents, along with several large suitcases. We were understandably quite tired from the journey. Upon arrival, it was clear that the hotel had a significant shortage of staff both inside and outside the lobby – a stark contrast to Shimei Bay, where service personnel were readily available everywhere. Although there weren't many guests checking in at the time, and the scene wasn't particularly busy, given our large group and numerous bags, I had to proactively request a luggage cart to make things easier. For a resort hotel that prides itself on the guest experience, the initial service response would be much better if it were more proactive and if staffing levels were more adequate.
Regarding the room, the promotional pictures I saw when booking showed a sea-facing view with a visible beach. However, the actual view from our room was quite different from what we expected. While we could see the sea in the distance, our primary view was of the hotel's pool area, and the beach wasn't visible at all. The visual impression didn't match the promotional images.
During the Chinese New Year period, the hotel organized various activities, some free and some with a charge, which is understandable. However, it was quite surprising to find that even digging for sand crabs on the public beach area required an additional fee. Compared to the hotel we stayed at previously in Shimei Bay, the activity planning here was indeed a bit lackluster.
On the bright side, the breakfast was excellent. There was a rich variety of options, especially the Pandan Tofu Pudding, Pandan Pancakes, and various Hainan noodles. These were not only distinctive but also delicious, adding a wonderful culinary delight to our mornings.
What truly impressed us was the mature food scene around the hotel. From Coconut Chicken, Wenchang Chicken, Ding'an Jumping Beef (which can be hotpot or BBQ), Baoluo Noodles, Hainan Noodles, to all sorts of desserts and snacks – the choices were incredibly diverse. This added a lot of local flavor and memorable gastronomic experiences to our trip.
The hotel's beach area itself was quite good. The sea breeze, sand quality, and the overall experience were very relaxing and comfortable.

Facilities: The facilities are relatively new. My only complaint is that the twin room's bathroom has a glass wall that can't be fully obscured.
Environment: Quite quiet.
Service: The front desk staff were very polite and their service was excellent!
The hotel's breakfast standard is also very high, with a wide variety of food! The hotel has an underground parking garage.
Facilities: The facilities are quite comprehensive, with a swimming pool and a water park. The kids had a blast, and the staff were very responsible, helping to look after them. If you need to leave for a short time, you can ask the water park staff to watch your children, and they do a great job. However, I couldn't find a self-service laundry area, so if you're staying for an extended period, you'll need to figure out your own laundry. There are very few charging stations; only a few above ground, and the underground parking only has dedicated Tesla chargers. The staff weren't very clear on this; we circled around several times without finding any, and only after asking customer service were we told there weren't any. Later, needing to charge urgently, we had to go to Dajiao Park for a fast charge.
The hotel has a restaurant, and the prices are reasonable. You can also go to Changhua Town to eat; there's a small shop there that serves more than just noodles, and their dishes are delicious. The owner is very welcoming, and things aren't expensive. They even have my favorite pea and minced pork noodles.
Environment: The environment is great, the scenery is beautiful, and it's very close to the beach, perfect for clamming.
Hygiene: Clean and tidy, and trash was promptly removed. The day before, the breakfast had pancakes, and they had made a lot. A guest saw a fly land on them, so the staff threw them all into the trash. The next day, there was a chef making them fresh on the spot, so hygiene is definitely assured.
Service: If you need anything, you can contact the front desk, and a service staff member will respond quickly. We brought our child and requested extra blankets and drinking water, which were all delivered for free.
There's a third-party photographer, but their skill level is very average. Just take the complimentary photos; don't choose extra photos for fine-tuning, as they look like fake Photoshop jobs. Their skill really isn't good.

The night view was absolutely stunning! The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable, and the bedding was so soft. There was plenty of space on the vanity, and the toiletries smelled lovely. The room was spacious, clean, and tidy. I accidentally left something behind when checking out, and the front desk immediately called us to let us know – they were so efficient and on top of it. I'd definitely choose this hotel again!
Seems to be the hotel is ready to be renovated. Room was very clean. Staff gave all necessary information.
But… we arrived by taxi from Baisha, and supposed to be taken to Baoting as a next destination. To call a taxi to the hotel took around one hour.
Yes, we got some help, but is was mostly “talking”, not actual actions to be taken. No hotel’s car are available. So, plan how you are going to get out from this place in advance.

Our overall experience during this stay was fantastic, and I have to give a special shout-out to the front desk service! Check-in was very efficient, no long waits, and the process was super smooth. The staff were professional and reliable, answering all our questions clearly, whether about hotel facilities or local attractions. Their demeanor was excellent, making us feel completely at ease. Any small requests were handled promptly and efficiently, without any unnecessary hassle throughout our stay. The service was thoughtful yet down-to-earth, making us feel really comfortable and leaving us with a great impression. We'll definitely choose this hotel again when we're back in the area; such attentive and efficient front desk service truly adds to the experience. Highly recommend!

The hotel amenities are excellent, featuring a stunning outdoor pool and a well-equipped fitness center. Plus, the free parking is a huge bonus, with plenty of spaces and even EV charging stations, which is super convenient for those driving. The staff are friendly and the check-in process was efficient and smooth. The attention to detail in their service really enhances the vacation vibe.

I really love Sanya, and this hotel was fantastic! It was clean, well-equipped, and the environment was beautiful. The service was excellent; they provided airport transfers and even made us drinks. My friend and I both loved it. The hygiene was top-notch, the setting was absolutely stunning, and the service was wonderful. I'll definitely be back!

GGuest UserWe had a few issues at first, but after some communication and coordination, everything was resolved wonderfully. They even upgraded us to a Red-crowned Crane room type, allowing both families to stay together, which made us very happy with the outcome.
First, let's talk about the hotel's advantages:
1. The restaurant is fantastic, with an excellent view. While the food selection isn't vast, the quality is top-notch. I tend to have high standards for hotel breakfast, and considering both the ambiance and quality here, I was very satisfied.
2. The shuttle service is incredibly responsive. The hotel feels like it's spread across the entire mountain, so you rely on the shuttles to get around. They're fast and comfortable.
3. The room views are superb, and the rooms are very clean. The mini-fridge is complimentary, and the amenities are comprehensive. It would be even better if the drinking water wasn't Nongfu Spring.
Here are a few suggestions:
The gathering areas need some maintenance; I noticed some broken stair treads. Since the hotel is quite spread out, there should be more staff to ensure service. Also, better communication between housekeeping and the front desk could prevent many information delays.
And honestly, the glass skywalk was a total rip-off – it was scorching hot and exhausting to walk on. You can skip these attractions and just enjoy the hotel itself.

Very Good
GGuest UserFacilities: Pretty good, exceeded expectations actually. The only issue is that the bathroom tends to flood easily, likely a design flaw, but it's not a big deal. The room itself is quite spacious and open. The bottom bunk bed is large, and the main bed is also big, making it very suitable for three friends traveling together. The pool is nice too, but breakfast is just okay – edible, but not worth paying full price for.
Hygiene: Very good.
Environment: The hotel's overall environment feels quite decent. Some areas show a bit of age, but they are well-maintained. The location is great, with two night markets nearby and close proximity to the beach. Our room faced the lake, but it was too hot to spend much time on the balcony, so the external view didn't really matter.
Service: Gina from guest services was excellent. After adding her on WeChat, she provided enthusiastic service, actively answered our questions, and met our needs. I accidentally left my phone in the lobby, and after calling to provide my room number, the concierge arranged to have it delivered to my room. They also helped search for a forgotten item and arranged for it to be mailed.

GGuest UserOur stay was fantastic! Our butler, Winnie, was incredibly thoughtful. She contacted us a day before check-in to ask about our needs and even upgraded us for free to a superb sea-view room – exactly the type with the bed facing the ocean, as advertised. Throughout our stay, Winnie was always responsive and provided excellent service for all our requests. We brought our 16-month-old baby, and she loved the free daily miniature train rides. The turtle feeding activity was also a lot of fun. Plus, getting to the duty-free shop was very convenient. Although the hotel has been open for a while, the room was spotless, and my biggest concern before arriving, a musty smell, was completely absent. Breakfast was varied and delicious, and ordering room service was very easy. The coconut chicken at the Western restaurant was also incredibly flavorful. We'll definitely be back!
GGuest UserA perfect family-friendly hotel with incredible value for money! A huge thank you to our butler Krystal for all the arrangements!
1. **Check-in:** We cleverly avoided the Qingming Festival rush. Booked a Club Lounge package through Ctrip, and the price was fantastic – no surcharge, what a steal!
2. **Room:** The sofa bed converts into a double bed, making it perfect for 2 adults and 2 children – plenty of space! It was like having two king-sized beds, no need to squeeze together. Our butler had already added us on WeChat, so we checked in promptly at 3 PM and even got an upgrade to a sea-view room on a higher floor, close to the elevator – brilliant!
3. **Food:** Breakfast could be enjoyed either in the main building or the Club Lounge. The main building offered more variety but was busier, while the Club Lounge was more refined. My husband loved the Roujiamo (Chinese hamburger), and we also enjoyed jackfruit, pineapple, star fruit, and diced blueberries and strawberries. Afternoon tea included cakes and coffee. Dinner, served at 4:30 PM, featured five or six hot dishes, fried noodles, fruit cake, and coconut cooling soup. Eating brunch and then afternoon tea/early dinner was enough for the whole day! We didn't even need to order takeout once.
4. **Kids' Activities:** So many activities!
* **Daytime:** When it was hot, we went to the Adventure Park (our butler gave us free tickets, yay!). There was complimentary face painting (the little princesses loved it!), and they could even change into princess dresses. Younger kids could play with building blocks, magnetic tiles, and a piano. Outdoors, there was a petting zoo, a zip line, and free mini-train rides (note the operating hours, not all day). The large lawn had hammocks, swings, canopies, and beanbag chairs. You could even climb coconut trees. There were also morning outdoor activities like frisbee and ball games.
* **Evening:** After dinner at 5 PM, we headed to the pool for a bubble party. The heated, circular pool was perfect for swimming, and there was a massage pool. Lying in the pool, watching the clouds drift by, was incredibly relaxing! There weren't many swim rings available, though.
* **Nighttime:** In the carnival area, there was go-karting, movies, trampolines, beanbag toss, and archery.
There were also many classes, but we simply didn't have time to join any.
5. **Beach:** The beach just outside the hotel was very clean. It was just too hot and sunny, with no shade for sand play and no private umbrellas. But the sand itself was lovely and not dirty at all. We participated in a free crab-catching activity one evening, though it was quite challenging to catch any.
6. **Birthday Celebration:** Coincidentally, it was my birthday, and the butler surprised us with a small cake – thank you, Krystal!
7. **Travel Photography:** This time, we had photos taken of both the garden and sea views. The beach photographer also helped us out, as we simply couldn't capture the same effect ourselves.
We stayed for five days and four nights, and I really miss those wonderful days of endless food and fun! We definitely felt like we could have stayed longer!
AAnonymous UserThe service at Hilton Haikou is truly heartwarming! From the moment I stepped in until check-out, the concierge service provided meticulous and caring attention. The room was clean and tidy, with high-end facilities, and the toiletries in the room smelled amazing. The hotel's location is excellent, right in the city center, making it convenient for getting around and shopping. The overall experience was perfect, definitely 100 points. It's my top choice for luxury hotels in Haikou~

CCeeCeeCcService: The butler contacted me in advance, thanks to Jill for her excellent service. The hotel offers complimentary pick-up and drop-off service from the airport and high-speed rail station, which is fantastic! They also provide turn-down service, big thanks to the staff.
Facilities: The facilities are a bit dated but still perfectly functional. Both rooms are quite spacious. There are two restrooms, but only one shower. This was a minor inconvenience for our family traveling with grandparents, parents, and a toddler; it would have been much better if there were two showers.
Breakfast: The buffet offers a noodle station, Hainan Zao Po Cu (a local sour and spicy soup), and a good selection of Western pastries. Lots of foreigners, indeed! 😂
The Chinese restaurant serves Cantonese cuisine for lunch and dinner. We found a great value four-person set menu.
There's also a dessert shop and a bar with a very comfortable seating area overlooking the sea. It's a great spot to relax with a drink, and the prices are reasonable.
The hotel only has an outdoor pool, which isn't heated. The deepest part is 1.3m, and there's a kids' pool at 0.5m. Free swimming rings are available.
The artificial beach is sufficient for kids to play in the sand, and complimentary sand toys are provided.
They partner with a photography service and offer five complimentary photos.
There are many children's activities, and we participated in a few. The instructors were very patient, highly commendable!
While Dadonghai can't compare to Yalong Bay, the overall value for money is still good.

GGuest UserThe room was spacious with a partial sea view, and honestly, my stay here was even better than the luxury family room with a full sea view at Tianyu, which cost over 3000 more per night. Tianyu was incredibly chaotic and overcrowded, just a heads-up! There were even some inflatable rings left by the pool for guests to use, so no need to rent or buy, and the lifeguards were very diligent. A special shout-out to our butler, Tudou – their service was absolutely phenomenal. Unlike the butlers I had at Tianyu and Atlantis who rarely initiated contact, Tudou was proactively communicative from before check-in all the way until we left. I was extremely satisfied! The beach, though small, was lovely and well-maintained. The evening beach buffet was quite fun, and the performers were really nice and happy to take photos, which made my kids very happy.
GGuest UserI chose this hotel to celebrate my husband's birthday, and it was absolutely stunning! Watching the underwater world from our room was incredibly dreamy. Our private butler started coordinating with my birthday planner two weeks before check-in, cooperating fully, arranging gifts, and even asking about my husband's preferences to prepare a surprise cake and a huge bouquet. Besides assisting the planner, the butler also decorated our bed. To my surprise, they even prepared an underwater birthday message, which I had initially planned to arrange myself – another lovely surprise from the butler! We also had a beluga whale interaction, and my husband, while diving, specifically arranged to interact with me through our room's glass panel. In short, their service was outstanding, fulfilling every request! The breakfast spread was so abundant it couldn't fit on one table. Upon departure, they even arranged a car to take us to our next hotel, which was incredibly thoughtful. P.S. The gigantic osteoglossid fish was amazing! 🐟
XXiaomijiangzilalalaFacilities: The room has a balcony and a bathtub, and the sea view is absolutely stunning.
Cleanliness: Both the room and public areas are spotless.
Service: Our butler, Rose, was incredibly responsive and even arranged a late check-out for us. Excellent service! (thumbs up emoji)
Facilities: There's a kids' play area, a water park, and a family pool with a very comfortable water temperature!
The beachfront has a coconut grove and a lawn, perfect for taking photos!
The 'Island Flavor' seafood BBQ buffet dinner for two: This dinner is definitely worth it! The ingredients are fresh and high-quality, and there's a great variety. The hot dishes and BBQ items all taste delicious!
Breakfast every day is also fantastic! It's served for a long time, tastes great, and offers a wide selection.
Recommended for family trips: They provide bed rails, a child's toilet seat, kids' slippers, toothbrushes, shower gel, and baby tableware. The kids' club also has a lot of activities.
