I recently stayed at this brand-new hotel (opened in 2024), and it was such a nice experience. If you want a place with lots of extras, this is it. They have two pool tables, a small rooftop pool, and two gyms—one for yoga and Pilates with all the equipment, and another with treadmills, bikes, free weights, and even a Smith machine. There’s also a laundry room with washers, which was really handy. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices, but you’ll want to arrive early to get the best selection. The staff were all very friendly, but Fei Xiu (绯袖) on WeChat was especially helpful—she answered all my questions quickly and made everything easy. The location isn’t right on the riverbank near the Starlight Market, but it’s not far from tourist spots either. It’s actually in a good spot if you want a quieter stay while still being close enough to everything. If you’re looking for a modern, well-equipped hotel with great service, I’d definitely recommend this one!

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to attractions like Guishan Park. Shangri-La has significant temperature swings, so it's convenient to return to the hotel anytime to change clothes, grab things, or rest. The entrance is also a popular photo spot, with amazing views both morning and night. If you love night views, the second floor of the hotel is also great for photos. The hotel's decor has a lot of local character. If you're not too particular about accommodation standards, it's worth experiencing. Although it's in the heart of the old town, it's very quiet at night. Upon check-in, you're offered a Hada (******* ceremonial scarf) and ginger tea. Breakfast includes savory butter tea, and in the evening, they provide highland barley bread and yak milk. The highland barley bread is quite tasty. One day when we went to Meili, the hotel thoughtfully arranged a packed breakfast for us. The hotel offers airport drop-off service, just request it a day in advance. I give the location full marks.

The biggest surprise of my Dali trip wasn't the ancient city or Erhai Lake, but this forest B&B nestled halfway up Cangshan Mountain 🌿. As we drove up from the city, the urban hustle and bustle slowly faded, replaced by lush greenery and the sound of pine trees swaying in the wind. 🌄 **The Rooftop is Pure Soul:** I was absolutely stunned the moment I stepped onto the rooftop – the nineteen peaks of Cangshan Mountain stood behind me like a majestic screen, with the entire Erhai Lake and scattered Bai ethnic villages stretching out below. The Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple were faintly visible. In the morning, drawing back the curtains revealed a sea of rolling clouds. In the evening, I'd sit on the swing chair on the terrace, watching the sunset paint Erhai Lake a honeyed gold 🍯. At night, a glance upwards showed the Milky Way so clearly it brought tears to my eyes ✨. 🌿 **Immersive Mountain Living:** Hydrangeas were in full bloom in the courtyard, and dappled sunlight filtered through the treetops onto the wooden floors. The natural wood-toned room had floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, making it feel like sleeping right in the forest 🌲. There were also three resident cats, each with their own unique personality, taking turns on patrol. Staying in the Jacuzzi Villa was an absolute delight! The Naxi-style courtyard was elegant and peaceful, and the private, temperature-controlled Jacuzzi was clean and comfortable. Soaking under the stars at night melted away all my travel fatigue. I must commend Elin, our butler, for her outstanding service. From coordinating before our arrival to her attentive care during our stay, she was always quick to respond to any needs. She was thoughtful and professional, never intrusive, which truly enhanced the relaxing vacation vibe. The facilities were excellent, and the service was an added bonus – a perfect Lijiang getaway! Highly recommended!

The room was very clean, and the host was super friendly and helpful with luggage. There's also a Samoyed named Mitsu who is incredibly friendly; my kids absolutely adored her and couldn't bear to leave. The dog was very clean and well-behaved. Overall, the guesthouse was very quiet.

Staying at this guesthouse in Shangri-La was such a pleasant surprise! It's an absolute dream for taking photos. There's a Yeluzi Cafe right next door. When you don't feel like going out, you can just sit in the courtyard with a cup of coffee and a piece of cake, gazing out at the distant mountains—it's so cozy and therapeutic. <div></div> The room was clean and comfortable. You just push open the window to breathtaking highland mountain views, and the air is amazingly fresh. The owner and staff were warm and attentive. I'll definitely stay here again next time!

The hotel is located just inside the South Gate of the ancient city, slightly away from the bustling downtown area. We stayed in the White Peacock room this time, which had a great view and a small courtyard. The hotel service was excellent; the ginger tea at the front desk was absolutely delicious, and I've become addicted to it these past few days! We also received afternoon tea upon arrival, and the latte was incredibly good! Our butler, 'One Fish' 🐟, was also super enthusiastic, always responding to WeChat messages no matter the time. The hotel even offered makeup and costume services; I didn't wear the costume but just tried the makeup and hair, which was definitely worth it! Overall, highly recommended!

The view was fantastic; I could see Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake right from my room. Service was excellent, with very efficient pick-up and drop-off services, and they even offered traditional clothing for photoshoots. The food was delicious; the Bai ethnic chef, working unhurriedly and methodically, prepared everything perfectly. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay!

We had a fantastic stay the MountainTrip resort. Even before arrival they helped coordinate a private transfer for us to get to Shangri-La. They picked us up from the airport for free (which is a long drive). We also used their free drive to nearby Baisha. The room was spacious, clean, and had plenty of amenities (fridge, free drinks, toiletries). The bathrooms were modern. When we arrived late they still offered us their daily tea and drinks. We had breakfast and a couple other meals at the hotel and always found the food delicious and well balanced. Attached a few of their daily menus. The family enjoyed petting and feeding their goats and ponies. They would give us food to feed them. The flowers were beautiful. Our stay will likely be a highlight of our trip to Yunnan. Returning to Dali from Jizu Mountain, I temporarily chose to stay at Jinsuo Island. I have been to Dali many times, and this is my first time on the island. This hotel is indeed the most satisfactory one. The room has an unbeatable sea view. You can see the sea and the sunrise while lying on the bed. The facilities are very smart and the hygiene is also very clean. Super cost-effective! The breakfast in the sea view restaurant is also a little surprise.
