I was thoroughly impressed. The property is modern, well-appointed, and clearly designed with the business traveler in mind.
Check-in was seamless — the staff were sharp, professional, and proactive. The room was well laid out with excellent lighting, reliable Wi-Fi, and an outstanding bed — easily one of the best I’ve had in a hotel. The in-house restaurant exceeded expectations. Breakfast was efficient, the quality of the food was high, and the coffee stood out. The bar carried some excellent wines, and the team were sharp with their wine knowledge — a nice surprise. The gym was another highlight, fitted out with premium Technogym equipment — far above the usual hotel standard. Overall, a strong addition to Auckland’s hotel scene — I’d be happy to return and recommend it for business or leisure stays.
As it is located in CBD, it gets noisy at night. I could hear the noises from outsiide during weekends which was quite annoying. Other than that, above average marriot hotel.
Single beds for Twin room are too small, will be better if it’s super single beds.
Breakfast is perfect! Wide range of varieties and good quality!
Will definitely stay here again when we are back in Auckland.
The receptionists Camila, Chloe and Henry were very warm, friendly and helpful. The Executive Lounge was well presented and provided adequate drinks and snacks. The bedroom was spacious and the breakfast had various options. The chef who took the orders was friendly and efficient. The swimming pool was well maintained, however the bathrooms in the change room appeared to be not adequately maintained and cleaned.
Nice city and harbor view from the room. Staff are friendly with excellent service. Walkable distance to the britomart station, close to city center and viaduct harbor
We loved our stay in Mövenpick Auckland . I stayed with my family . The room is clean and spacious .The beds are soft and comfortable. Our room is on the 8th floor and the view facing the pier is spectacular. There was a rally at the square down below and we could barely hear it. No problem with soundproofing that we encountered. The bathroom is spotless and water pressure of the shower is lovely. Room service is prompt and the service was top notch. I would definitely stay there again. My kids aged 6 and 9 also had a wonderful time . The loved the chocolate hour and the ice cream . They always look forward going back to the hotel from a busy day out exploring Auckland.
I am travelling with family with kids and elderly. The grand is probably the best central location that you can find in Auckland if you are taking public transport. The pickup and dropoff for Skybus to Auckland airport is a 5 min walk away. The surrounding has plenty of restaurants including japanese & Chinese food. Facilities wise it has a gym and a heated swimming pool which the kids enjoy. Room is clean & spacious. Hotel price wise is on a high but weighing all the plus points, I will book it again for all the reasons above.
The hotel facilities are very modern. The room is a bit small but has a sense of design. The staff is warm and friendly. Special thanks to the staff for picking up our mobile phone in the hotel lobby and helping us put it back in the room. In addition, the food in the hotel restaurant called kingi is also delicious.
The location of the hotel is very good, just in the center of Auckland, it is very convenient to go everywhere. The Sky Tower and the Harbor Bridge can all be reached on foot. The overall hotel is a bit old, but it is well maintained. Especially worthy of praise is their breakfast, which is delicious.

AAnonymous UserGreat location and service. Stayed in the M Suite which was incredibly spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was great. Would definitely stay here again soon.
GGuest Userthumbs up:
1/ location - right on the viaduct harbour
2/ room is spacious & with practical layout and furnishing
3/ nice to see beau the labrador, the ambassador of the hotel
4/ concierge staff mr kim was professional for addressing us
thumbs down:
1/ check in - checked in at about 3pm and waited for more than 40 minutes to have the room ready ... luggage wasn't even sent to the room and needed to wait for another 20 minutes
2/ housekeeping - an area needed big improvement ... it' was not up to park hyatt's standard ... missing replacing tea cups, wine glasses, body lotion, soap, slippers, water, and etc ... the floor was with dust after staying 9 nights ... soap dishes weren't cleaned everyday
3/ breakfast - so apparently short of staff and training ... there were times proper cutlery wasn't prepared when seated and needed to ask for it .. missing orders like cup of coffee and water
4/ guest services - please don't expect calls to be picked up timely

SshirleyleehomThis hotel is brand new, and its location is absolutely superb. Queen Street right downstairs buzzes with activity, much like Shanghai's Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. From here, you're within easy walking distance of restaurants, shopping, the ferry terminal, and the Sky Tower. The rooms are incredibly smart – the lights and curtains automatically open upon entry, which is a fantastic touch. I also loved that they provide Byredo toiletries. And the breakfast was truly lavish! I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit to New Zealand!
JJohn WilloughbyWow wow wow. We were amazed at our time here. We were not expecting such quality from an airport hotel. The room was lovely and modern with a great view. The most spectacular part was the hotel restaurant 10/10. The food was glorious. We had just come in from 18hours of travel. Dinner was out of this world. If you stay here the restaurant is well worth the added expense.
