this hotel is good overall, but when we arrived, they told us that we didn't have a booking with them and they couldn't locate our booking and details. the room was also said to be taken, and they are waiting for a cancellation in order to get our room. There is a lot of confusion among staff. some visitors were told to leave their rooms once they have entered. we waiting 1 hr 30 min to get our room. so check in was at 4.30pm. parking was also very inconvenient, as we had to park at the basement, which was impossible to even get one if you came into the hotel late and a T&G card was also needed to get validated before leaving the hotel if we wanted a free spot. Room was very spacious and clean. the tea and coffee was hard like its never been changed.

Location: Situated right in the heart of George Town, Penang. It's within walking distance to the famous street art area, and Kimberley Street Food Night Market is just behind the hotel, a 5-minute walk away. The hotel is conveniently located next to George Town's tallest observation tower, making it easy to spot. There are also supermarkets right next door and across the street, which is super convenient for shopping. Hotel Facilities: The room size is a bit small. In the twin room, the two beds are practically pushed together, creating what feels like a super-king bed. There's an outdoor pool on the fourth floor, and the lobby has plenty of comfortable chairs. Breakfast: The breakfast spread is rich and varied, offering Chinese, Western, and Indian options. Very good!

I had a truly satisfying experience. First, let's talk about the location. There's a night market right downstairs. For breakfast, there's an excellent coffee shop nearby that serves Kaya toast and local specialties at reasonable prices – perfect for a morning meal. The night market offers a great variety of local food options for dinner, which is a fantastic experience. The hotel is also conveniently located for exploring all the attractions in George Town, whether you choose to walk or take a Grab. Now, a special mention for the hotel itself. Everything from the ambiance, room layout, and especially the concierge service and the professionalism of the staff, was outstanding. Although the rooms show their age, they are incredibly clean, well-maintained, and smartly designed. It was a wonderful experience overall, and I highly recommend booking here. If I visit Penang again, I will definitely stay at this hotel. Many thanks to the hotel for their thoughtful, attentive, and professional service!

Beyond imagination good! It's not very close to George Town, about a 15-20 minute drive, but it was fine since we were self-driving. Parking space was very ample. You can use your credit card to tap for parking, and the fee will be waived. The hotel's facilities are very new and clean. The room was large, comfortable, and spotless. The front desk offers a complimentary drink daily, you can choose between coffee, black tea, or orange juice. However, there's no water provided in the room, but there are water dispensers in the hallway if you bring your own bottle. The downside is the soundproofing is a bit poor. Some people nearby would sing morning prayers early in the morning, so light sleepers will definitely wake up. Also, the room cleaning was a bit haphazard and could be done better. Overall, highly recommended if you're self-driving! It would also be okay if you use Grab.

The hotel lobby on the 20th floor offers a stunning view of the distant sea, which is incredibly beautiful. On the 22nd floor, you can relax and unwind by the pool, and the breakfast on the 21st floor is also great, with two large, fully automatic coffee machines. The room facilities are also quite good.

What I liked: quick and convenient communication with the administrator during check-in. The room offered good value for money. What I didn't like: The pool rules weren't supported by its infrastructure. There's nowhere to change into dry clothes, but you're not allowed to leave in wet ones. The floor in front of the pool gets scorching hot in the sun, yet they require you to walk barefoot, even without slippers. They even came up with a dress code for visiting.

The hotel is eco-friendly which is good. Though they don't provide bottle of waters however they provide water dispenser which is easily located at the lift lobby. There is also coffee provided which is self-help for 24 hours. The staff are very friendly and welcoming upon entry which is a huge plus.

Compatriots, I do not recommend this hotel. Either stay in George Town, or head directly to hotels in the main beach area further down. This hotel is in an inconvenient location, far from everything and not lively. There's a mart opposite, but crossing the road is terrifying! What's worse is that the entire hotel has no concept of service, or perhaps, all of Malaysia doesn't. Yet, the price is comparable to established five-star hotels in George Town. This hotel is incredibly stingy; bottled water isn't provided. You have to go to the hallway yourself to get their glass bottled water. The water flow is incredibly slow. After finishing the water on the first day, housekeeping doesn't refill it on the second. Both toilet paper and tissues in the bathroom are stingily rationed. Unlike back home where they are generously replenished. The so-called hotel beach is a dirty, messy area with no proper beach chairs or anything. This hotel is not suitable for people from our country! The lobby has an overwhelming, strong, unpleasant fragrance.

We absolutely loved our stay at Capri by Fraser, Penang! 🥰 The hotel is new, modern, and spotlessly clean. The room was so comfortable, and the location was perfect.  The staffs are genuinely warm, friendly, and always greeted us with the biggest smiles. We stayed here for 6days and 5 nights. The room was as per described - great lighting, spacious, wonderful view of the city and amenities were more than sufficient. Location was great as well - right smack in the heart of George Town. Only complain we have is the lift service - almost everyday we had to wait ridiculously long for the lift and it’s always full. In total there were 4 lifts. If we wanted to head down from level 12 to level 1, for some reason some of the lifts would not come down to level 12 to pick us (stuck at level 18 or some other level). While the other two lifts are always full.
