Mantra Hobart Airport

It seems to be the former Travelodge hotel. It's built right by the road, with a huge floor-to-ceiling window in the room looking out onto it. The room itself is quite spacious, but the soundproofing isn't great. There aren't many shops nearby, just one Subway according to the map, and the hotel does have a restaurant. I guess many people stay here just for one night to catch a flight, as it's the only hotel close to the airport. They offer a paid shuttle service, $10 for one person and $15 for two, with the earliest shuttle at 7 AM. Our flight was too early, so we couldn't use it. Be warned! Even though it's close to the airport and a taxi should only be around $12, drivers might try to overcharge. Our taxi driver demanded $30. Since we had some extra time, we refused and decided to walk to the airport ourselves. It was almost 2 kilometers, and walking alone in the middle of the night with no one around was actually a bit spooky.

The room wasn't very big, and since I booked only a week in advance, the price was a bit higher than expected. Overall, the hygiene was acceptable, although there were hairs on the bed and in the bathroom when I checked in. The hotel staff helped us resolve that. I forgot to take photos of the room, but you can refer to the hotel's pictures and other reviews; they're all pretty similar. It's worth noting that international hotels aren't as accommodating as domestic ones when it comes to upgrades. Here, you'd either need to be a high-tier member or pay for a higher room category to get an upgrade. Each day, the room is stocked with two bottles of drinking water, a carton of milk, and the usual capsule coffee and tea bags – pretty standard. However, I don't understand why housekeeping moved my belongings. Several times, I returned to find my neck pillow on the floor, clothes I'd hung on the hanger had been moved, and my slippers were in a different spot. While it's not a major issue, it was a bit annoying for someone with OCD. I hope the hotel can pay attention to this aspect. I've included a few breakfast photos. On a side note, the fillet steak at the downstairs restaurant was very tender and worth trying.

We had the most amazing stay here, all thanks to the incredible hospitality! We arrived at Hobart Airport after a super long and exhausting journey, and we were honestly running on empty. Melissa at the front desk was an absolute lifesaver! She noticed how tired we were and immediately went to work trying to get us an early check-in. Since our room wasn’t quite ready, she safely stored our luggage for us and text us the very second it was clean. That meant the world to us!She also gave us a fantastic, super detailed rundown of all the hotel facilities. To make things even better, our room had a stunning, super beautiful view of the lake. We couldn't take our eyes off it!

The room was big and clean. King size bed comfortable. Location near to many shops and restaurants. About 9 minutes drive to cataract gorge. However the bathroom needs updating with mixers instead of 1 cold and 1 hot water tap.

Extremely Terrible Experience – Inhumane & Unacceptable Service I am writing this review to strongly condemn this hotel’s extremely cold-blooded and unethical service, and to warn all travelers never to stay here. 1. Inhumane treatment of an elderly guest with serious health conditions Check-out time is 10:00 AM, which is already unreasonably early. It was raining heavily that day, with nowhere to go. My father, nearly 70 years old, with 3 heart stents and long-term hypertension, felt unwell and exhausted from the trip, and desperately needed to rest longer. I communicated politely multiple times and even offered to pay extra to extend check-out until 12:00 noon, but was ruthlessly refused every time. I had already checked out one of the two rooms early; I only asked to keep one room for my father to rest. The staff were extremely harsh, rigid, and totally lacking in empathy. They only allowed a 1-hour extension until 11:00 AM, and spoke to me in a very severe and accusatory tone, as if we had committed a mistake. 2. Severe service failure upon check-in I had asked Ctrip to inform the hotel 3 DAYS in advance that I booked two rooms, one requiring twin beds. However, I still had to wait 2 FULL HOURS for them to rearrange the beds on the day of check-in. 3. Extremely poor value for money I spent over HK$9,000 for two rooms for one night, only to receive zero care and respect for an elderly guest with serious medical conditions. This hotel has no compassion, no service ethics, no humanity. Absolutely unacceptable. Strongly NOT recommended.

We didn't notice that we needed to check in before 6pm. When we arrived at the hotel after the Cradle Mountain hike, it was just over ten minutes. At first, we thought we had found the wrong entrance to the reception (it was a regular hotel, not a B&B, so we didn't expect that we couldn't check in so early. The sun didn't set until 8pm). There were two staff members sitting at the reception counter (glass door, visible from the outside), and no matter how we knocked or gestured, they just shook their hands. There was a small iron box on the door that needed to be opened with the password given in the email, and there was a key inside. But there were several big words in my email: Unable to display the content of the email! There was no way, we called the hotel, but they didn't answer and transferred the call to voice, so we had to leave a message. Just when we were about to contact Ctrip, the people inside finally came out, opened the iron box, and gave us the key. How arrogant!!!

The hotel itself is very beautiful, great location as well. However the room feels very stuffy, the balcony is locked only a small window is left open and the screen window is incredibly dusty, I don’t think it’s ever been cleaned. Also the housekeeping is very unprofessional, she came straight in without even knocking the door around 9am while we are still sleeping, just saying hello when unlocking the door. Unhappy about that.

Since we arrived in the early hours of the morning, the hotel was very accommodating. Knowing my wife is pregnant, they allowed us to check in a little early so she could rest properly. Overall, it was good, aside from some noise. However, I think this is due to poor soundproofing, which seems to be a common issue across Australia. Essentially, it's very convenient, with a bus stop and light rail station right downstairs, making it easy to get to different attractions.

Our favorite stay in Tasmania! We are connected with Telstra/Belong so we had internet access in our cabins. We stayed in a contemporary spa cabin— however I wasnt sure how to use the spa bath so better check with reception. Other than that, great well heated room with high ceilings in the middle of winter. Also, breakfast can be improved but not bad

Amazing hospitality from check in right through to check out. Friendly and inviting staff. Great food and drinks at the pub. Location was amazing, 1km from the historical site and easy to find being on the main road. The views through the ceiling to floor windows out to the sea was magical and nothing like I have seen anywhere else during my travels down here. Beds were comfortable and the room stayed nice and warm over the cold night. Very relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back when I travel back to Port Arthur
