Great location. Breakfast could be improved. Children themed rooms are great.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a few minutes' walk from MixC Mall. Despite being an older property, it feels remarkably well-maintained and not dated at all. The management and service are top-notch, including complimentary welcome fruits and drinks. Amenities are comprehensive, with an underground parking garage and a swimming pool. The breakfast spread is extensive, and the lamb offal soup, milk, and yogurt are particularly outstanding! The housekeeping staff on the 15th floor provided wonderful service. Highly recommended!

Not too far from Hohhot train station, the lobby looks nice and features a Mongolian yurt display. The room is quite spacious, though it’s clear that the hotel has been around for quite some time. There is also a ******* locker near the entrance, which makes food delivery very convenient.

Average 5-star hotel. Service not as good as the previous hotel but much better than the next hotel. Considering the price, worth it.

Room: I was assigned an end-of-corridor room, which thankfully I didn't mind. Even though it was located right by the elevator, it was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. Executive Lounge: The service was excellent. The staff members were warm, polite, and provided detailed explanations. They were always happy to assist with any requests, especially Ms. He Changju and Ms. Zhao Min, whose service truly stood out.

A nice hotel in a strategic location, close to the shopping malls and park. We could see the park and mountain from our room window. We loved our stay, thank you.

Everything about this hotel was terrible. The service at the Chinese restaurant downstairs was appalling, and we couldn't even get a table because of the ridiculously long wait. To make things worse, many guests were being bitten by mosquitoes, and I personally found *nine* in my room! Is this truly a traditional five-star hotel? There was no one to help with luggage, and no complimentary fruit was offered or delivered. The overall experience was incredibly disappointing. To top it all off, I developed a severe allergic reaction after only one night. This hotel deserves a strong negative review.

For my trip to Hohhot, after checking out several hotels, I specifically opted for the Shangri-La, which is considered one of the pricier options in the city. Its location is decent, nestled between Dazhao Temple and the Inner Mongolia Museum, and also conveniently close to Kuan Alley. However, the hotel seems to have been open for quite a while, and its facilities are showing their age. The rooms aren't very large, and the toiletries provided are quite basic. While this might be understandable for the region and likely considered acceptable by local standards. The breakfast spread wasn't particularly diverse, and I personally found it quite average. If you're visiting as a tourist, I'd recommend eating breakfast at Kuan Alley instead – it offers better value for money and tastier options.

The Shangri-La Hotel, Hohhot boasts an excellent location, making it incredibly convenient to get around. The hotel's breakfast, along with the Executive Lounge's afternoon tea and evening happy hour, were all fantastic. They offered a wide variety of incredibly delicious dishes!

The room was quite clean, and while the decor showed its age, it didn't feel outdated. There were more hooks than in typical hotels, which made it very convenient to hang clothes and bags. The window soundproofing was excellent; as a light sleeper who is genuinely sensitive to noise, I barely heard any outdoor sounds once I was in the room. There was also no peculiar smell when I turned off the air conditioning. Crucially, I didn't see any bugs or get bitten by mosquitoes during my stay. The mattress was neither too soft nor too firm, offering good support. I usually prefer a firmer bed, so this one was just right – definitely much better than those so soft you feel like sleeping on the floor. I really liked the hotel's location. Right downstairs, next door, is a large sports field, and just past the field is Qingcheng Park. A short stroll from there takes you to Kuanzhai Alley, which was perfect for someone like me who loves to walk around. Breakfast was quite plentiful. They offered shaomai (steamed dumplings) and milk tea; I ended up eating 7 shaomai! 😂 The milk tea was unremarkable, but I much preferred the soy milk. The cheese selection was a bit limited, seemingly only cheddar and Gouda. I didn't see any other varieties. Service-wise, it's a matter of personal opinion, I suppose. The staff I encountered were all quite young and didn't come across as particularly warm or enthusiastic. However, their service quality and efficiency were definitely on point. They were helpful in solving problems; for example, when I called for earplugs close to 11 PM, they were delivered to my room within minutes. A minor downside was that food delivery couldn't come directly to the room; I had to go downstairs to the lobby entrance to pick it up. I stayed at three different hotels over three nights in Hohhot, intending to compare them all. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, it's highly likely I'll choose to stay here again next time I visit.

The Club Level room offered a fantastic view, with Qingcheng Park sprawling beneath us. Being on a higher floor also ensured a quieter environment. The Executive Lounge provided delicious afternoon tea and dinner, and the breakfast buffet was wonderfully varied. Downstairs, the ground floor lobby even features a Mongolian yurt, perfect for some unique photos. All the hotel staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. During weekdays, the swimming pool was pleasantly uncrowded. Overall, a truly comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The hotel's location is excellent, conveniently located near several key city attractions. The doorman at the lobby entrance was very welcoming, and the breakfast yogurt was delicious. However, for a five-star Shangri-La hotel, there are several areas that need significant improvement. The most concerning issue was that the hotel experienced two power outages late at night. Power was only restored after a considerable delay. Guests emerged from their rooms into the dark hallways, visibly confused and concerned about the sudden loss of electricity. With rooms plunged into darkness, this felt extremely dangerous, especially for guests with elderly family members, young children, or those who were showering at the time. Repeated calls to the front desk either went unanswered or were met with responses to contact the engineering department, leaving everyone feeling confused and helpless. Furthermore, the room's fixtures and fittings are quite outdated. The carpet looked like it could harbor dirt and stains; a thorough cleaning and disinfection is definitely needed. Soundproofing in the room was poor, and there was a noticeable smoke smell. The fixed showerhead in the bathroom was inconvenient as it couldn't be detached for use. The range of complimentary toiletries should be more comprehensive (items like combs and razors had to be specifically requested), and the quality of these amenities also needs improvement. The hairdryer was fixed to a shelf under the basin and looked quite dated. During peak breakfast hours, guests had to queue at the restaurant entrance to be seated. The hotel should consider expanding its dining area and increasing the number of tables. Also, food replenishment for breakfast items should be more prompt. Staff should be stationed to manage the car entrance/exit outside the hotel's main gate. Any issues should be handled promptly, preventing situations where no one is available to assist, and vehicles are left waiting for extended periods. Some front desk staff could be more welcoming and enthusiastic in their service. They also need to be more proficient in handling tasks to improve efficiency. I hope these areas can be improved and enhanced.

We stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel in Jinan last summer and had a wonderful experience. For our recent trip to Hohhot, we chose Shangri-La again and booked a 78-square-meter Executive Suite for two nights. Upon arrival, we were thrilled when the friendly front desk staff upgraded us to a 101-square-meter Executive Room! The room was incredibly spacious, offering expansive views overlooking Hohhot city. Our stay was very comfortable, and the three of us thoroughly enjoyed our two-night experience. We specifically requested a non-smoking floor, and the air inside was fresh. A big plus was having windows that could be opened for ventilation – we just needed to contact the service staff to do so, which we really appreciated. The room facilities were well-maintained, clean, and tidy. All the staff members were warm, welcoming, and attentive. A special thank you to the front desk staff who handled our check-in; they ensured we had such a pleasant experience. We will definitely choose the Shangri-La Hotel again on our next visit!

The swimming pool is quite large, with shallower sections at both ends and a deeper middle, reaching 1.4 meters at its deepest point. Our children had a fantastic time playing there. The executive dinner was decent; one evening, it featured dishes like clams, Mao Xue Wang, shrimp, and deliciously fried triangular hash browns and chicken nuggets. We also ordered some kid-friendly takeout, such as a children's meal from Xibei, to supplement the executive dinner, which made for a perfect meal for both adults and kids. However, we noticed far too many insects on the carpet on the swimming pool level, including cockroaches and ground beetles. I highly recommend removing the carpet from the changing rooms on the pool level.
