"It was a pretty decent hotel stay, we had a good room at the 12/F, Japan-themed. If the rooms are sold out, you can’t really choose which theme you could stay in. In the photos below are the design at the Greece-themed floor including the fitness centre. The last photo showed me on the Japan-themed guest room with a view of Tuen Mun. Although I can say on the last night of our stay, we asked the engineering department to fix our weakening water pressure for the shower. They changed it immediately but it seemed like they knew the problem beforehand and were just waiting for guests to complain about it much later so they can actually repair it. Overall the stay was good. I recommend if you want a simple breakfast, then you can enjoy their food. We tried their buffet breakfast for two days, their lunch and dinner buffet once each, and we never ate there again. Considering we stayed for almost 3 weeks (20 days consecutively) since mid-July 2025 under other bookings."

"I am currently pregnant and came back to Hong Kong to visit family before giving birth. The hotel staff is very accommodating and considerate, they upgraded me to a hardwood floor room for better safety. The room is much bigger than a normal hk hotel room. Room services are available everyday and the cleaning ladies are very nice. The environment is quiet and convenient, as there’s lots of restaurants just right downstairs in the shopping mall. Delivery is also available and can be picked up at the hotel 24 hours reception. I extended my stay 3 times 6+7+3 nights. Recommended"

"We stayed on the 7th floor. The corridors were dusty and smelled stale however everything else was superb! Our room was clean and had what we needed. Reception lobby staff was very helpful and friendly and offered us adapters for our phone chargers. Would definitely recommend especially to anyone transiting because we had been our flight before 8am the next day to Wuhan! Best service from PNG citizens! Great food from the variety available at the buffet after we purchased dinner vouchers."

"It’s a nice and clean hotel, it’s slightly cheaper than the average price of 4-star hotels so it’s a choice for travellers who doesn’t want to live in 3-star hotels but at limited budget. The room is a bit smaller than average, but at such price I won’t be unhappy about it. And it even came with free morning refreshments! However, the water speed from the shower is very slow. And thank god the water is still hot - It’s still barely sufficient for me to get a shower but that would be one thing that I hope the hotel could improve on. Overall speaking it’s not perfect, but undoubtedly great for its price, highly recommended for ppl travelling on a relatively tight budget."

CCoconut331First time staying here - the room is decent and clean. The bathroom is more spacious than average 4 star hotel. There are tables and a sofa which not a lot of 4 star hotel will provide. And the best part of my stay is the bed. It is the most comfortable bed I’ve slept by far among all the 4 star hotels I lived in. Overall speaking, trip ranked this as top 20 4-star hotel and I think this speaks for itself. A bit sad that the swimming pool is closed due to renovation. But amenities are great, there are gym room, swimming pool and even massage service.

EEdiGThe hotel positions itself as a 4-star establishment, but it falls short of that mark. Here's a breakdown of my experience: Location: The location is excellent, if you don't mind a steep uphill walk. However, the entire island is built on different levels, which isn't a negative but rather a positive – a daily workout! There's a bus stop right by the hotel, making it easy to reach the metro instead of walking up and down, straining your leg muscles. Next door is a botanical and zoological garden where you can take a stroll. By the way, entry is free. A 10-minute walk down the hill leads to the cable car ”tram” stop for a trip to Victoria Peak. Check-in: Check-in was fast, but a USD 300 deposit is required, which isn't mentioned on either the trip.com website or the hotel's website. If you need an adapter for your electronic devices, ask for one right away – the receptionist won't offer it. Room: The room is relatively clean, though I did find some hair in the kitchen and on the bedding. For Hong Kong, the room is spacious, but there's nowhere to store a suitcase. You can set the temperature on the air conditioner, but it doesn't work. It only blows cold air, making the room humid. Kitchen: The kitchen is minimally equipped, but it's sufficient. However, upon check-in, they warn you that the stove can only be used for reheating food, not cooking, as the fire alarm system is very sensitive and might activate the siren due to hot steam. You must turn on the exhaust fan to full power and the air conditioner to avoid triggering the alarm. Why bother having a kitchen at all? Bathroom: The same situation as with the kitchen – you need to close the door and turn on the air conditioner at full power while showering to avoid the fire alarm being triggered by steam from the bathroom. The shower hose started leaking on the second day of my stay. It was replaced with a new one, which also leaked. When the technician replaced the hose, did he check if the equipment was working properly? I doubt it. Breakfast: Breakfast is only served from a menu, which is quite limited. It's delicious, but not diverse. Is this the service you'd expect from a 4-star hotel? The breakfast organization is chaotic – staff running around and clanging dishes. Two slow coffee machines and one toaster keep guests waiting in line. By the way, there are plastic mugs for tea and coffee. The only fruit options are two types of apples – red and green. Service: The service is polite, but I'd say it's ”on demand.” You need to ask for shampoo, shower gel, and dishwashing liquid to be refilled. The housekeeping, for some reason, doesn't notice the need to replenish hygiene products in the bathroom and kitchen. Environmentalism: As in all of Hong Kong, they no longer provide water in plastic bottles. That's good, but come up with an alternative so guests don't have to go to the store for water. In my opinion, this environmental concern is simply an opportunity to reduce service costs while maintaining high accommodation prices. Speaking of breakfast again, the jam and butter are provided in small plastic containers, just like on airplanes. Is this really about caring for the environment? Conclusion: Overall, it's a good choice if you're not bothered by the minor service inconsistencies and if you don't have high expectations for a 4-star hotel. If you're visiting Hong Kong, I'd recommend Two MacDonell Road.

JJonathanThe Mongkok Holiday Inn Express is a short walk down Dundas Street from the Yau Ma Tei metro -- f you have heavy suitcases, you are better off getting a taxi from the Kowloon Airport Express station. I moved here because the prices at the Golden Mile Holiday Inn were climbing through the roof over Christmas, and the Mongkok Holiday Inn was almost half the price. Very friendly and accommodating staff, who looked after my luggage through several comings and goings, saving me almost another £100 on storage fees. Breakfast is a choice from a set menu rather than a buffet, but it was nice enough. I'll definitely stay here again.... in fact, I will stay here again the day after tomorrow!

GGuest UserBeautiful hotel at also very good location! I will start with location: hotel is placed at Wan chai and for all main attractions you can find bus if front of the hotel. Subway is also close, but when is raining you must walk 10min to subway station. So generally speaking who will use most of the times subway you must walk a bit, but for busses and general location it is very nice and good. Hotel room: We took deluxe room, and we were comfortable with 2 big luggages inside and baby stroller. Room is very nice and clean with nice view. Hotel maid was changing sheets often and kept room cleanness on a high level. Meals - Breakfast (7-10am): We didn't have breakfast included in room package, but hotel is offering to pay breakfast per person any time you want, which was suitable for us because we were active all day long, so sometimes we ate it, sometimes we skip it. Food is very nice, there are nice food and ingredients to eat. Breakfast is not best I had, for sure you will be full, but for us fits perfect to go out for exploring the city and not worrying for eating outside, because in HK most of the food places start working after 9-10am. General impression with hotel experience for us was 10/10

HHark ManOnce if you take the chance to walk around its neighborhood then you will find It has very easy access to Victoria Park , Pattersons Street, Sogo department store - all within 10 minutes walk. Room size is acceptable for HK standard: adequate space to place/store your belongings! Higher level had much lovely views of city views ! Only complaint is the elevator is bit slow and the going down direction escalator was out of the order during our 5 days stay.

AalccitronThe room was very spacious. The location is in between two towns, which wasn't ideal given the day I was there was a typhoon day. View from the room is nice. It seems to be a good option for a long-term stay, less so for a place to crash overnight. Breakfast was expensive and not so tasty, but given it was typhoon I could have either that or stay hungry. But otherwise all is fine with the place.

MMandyliciousAnother extended pleasant stay. Finally feeling better. Always nice to see the happy familiar faces from the different teams at the hotel. Surely helps to make my recovery better. Thank you.

GGuest UserReasonably clean but could tell the building was very old with a musty smell. You could say the decorations were quite vintage/old depending on how you look at it. Room was big for hk standards and staff was friendly. One thing to note is that they are cutting down on disposable amenities according to chinese regulations but some that are not provided can be bought from a vending machine in the gym. Wanted to buy a dental kit but the touchscreen pad said it was sold out although it was stocked.

GGuest UserThis is my 4th stay in a room on the 39th floor. Everything was fine before. Unfortunately, this time I had to spend a lot of time and nerves, which was not part of my plans. The pool on the 39th floor next to the room was used by a homeless person to spend the night. In addition, he smoked, shook ashes into the pool, and drank alcohol. All this happened on the only sun lounger. This is only what I saw passing by in the evening and at night. Unfortunately, the staff could not solve the problem the first time I asked and I had to ask for help at least 5 times. In the end, they offered me to act as a surveillance camera and if a homeless person appears, to inform them. Thank you very much. Of course, I understand the mentality of people in Hong Kong, but in China, I can hardly even imagine such a situation. I strongly advise against using this pool and staying on the top floor due to a serious security breach. Anyone from the street can enter your territory, since it is separated only by a low partition. My things were not in the room, but after entering the door. Unfortunately, after leaving, I discovered that a bottle of perfume was missing. The money and documents were in the safe, everything was fine with them. I think this is due to this person entering my territory. I closed the door to the room at night and the balcony. Perhaps this saved my valuables. In the middle of my vacation, I found a huge cockroach in the bathroom. It was really gigantic. Thanks to the cleaning service. They were able to catch it and take it away. I hope the hotel management will take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of guests. Therefore, I will not give a bad rating to my favorite chain. I usually don't write reviews about hotels. And in such detail. But this time my wife made me write. She serves in the police and is very attentive to security issues. She said that she was very worried about having a stranger nearby. I think this is an exaggeration. She was probably offended that she was not congratulated on her birthday in this hotel, as she is used to in other hotels with a card or a compliment. She just happened to have a birthday when she checked in 😁😁😁
