Iara CheesecakeWe only had two days in Manila for the grand finale of our honeymoon before heading back to China. The vibe? Total luxury. We crashed at Discovery Primea, right in the heart of Makati. Our room was spacious, super comfy, and the 24/7 room service was basically a honeymoon dream come true đ.
Just outside the hotel, you're spoiled for choice: a lush park for morning strolls, tons of restaurants, and a massive shopping mall (Glorietta Mall, Ayala Center, Makatiâopen daily from 10AM to 9PM). We hit up the supermarket inside for a Filipino snacks haul, so our suitcase was loaded with local goodies for the trip home.
Why we liked it:
- Perfect central locationâsteps from cafes, shops, and all the action
- Rooms are big and super comfy, with ultra-soft beds
- Everything is spotless! Clean and fresh vibes everywhere
- Loads of restaurants around Discovery Primeaâjust stroll and pick whatever looks tempting
- Stock up on Filipino snacks at Glorietta Mall for the perfect souvenir
đ Tips
- Grab rides are easy and safeâplus, you can pay with Alipay
- Donât stress over the service in some spots, just chase the good food!
- Discovery Primea is super convenient for both exploring Makati and chilling out
- Double check your bill for extra charges at hotels or restaurants, just in case

Guest UserStayed for one night and genuinely understood why people love The Peninsula.
The room felt incredibly clean and dry â no humid feeling at all. The bed and sheets were extremely comfortable, and even something as simple as taking a bath felt relaxing here. After weeks of stress and moving around, this stay honestly gave me a rare sense of rest.
The atmosphere throughout the hotel was elegant and calm, and everything felt thoughtfully maintained. Definitely one of the most comfortable hotel experiences Iâve had in Manila.

Oc$I had an exceptional stay at Ascott Makati. The location is unbeatableâright in the heart of Makati with direct access to Glorietta Mall, making shopping, dining, and exploring the city incredibly convenient.
The rooms are spacious, modern, and very well-maintained. I especially appreciated the fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living space, which made it feel like a home away from home. Housekeeping was consistent and attentive, ensuring everything stayed spotless throughout my stay.
The staff went above and beyond in every interaction. From the warm welcome at the front desk to the efficient service at breakfast, everyone was friendly, professional, and always ready to help.
The amenities are top-notch, with a relaxing pool, well-equipped gym, and great dining options. The buffet breakfast had a wide variety of choices, all fresh and delicious.
Overall, Ascott Makati delivers the perfect balance of comfort, luxury, and convenience. Whether for business or leisure, I would highly recommend staying here and will definitely choose it again on my next visit to Manila.

The location is excellent, and the rooftop bar with its amazing view is simply amazing. The room was very clean, as were the hotelâs common areas. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and polite. The breakfast  was absolutely delicious.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and will definitely choose it again on our next trip to Makati. Thank you!

Guest UserThis is a classic hotel, well located, full service (though a little slow at times) and it was very busy when we were there at Chinese New Year. The staff are friendly and helpful. This room was small but comfortable. Breakfast is fabulous but be careful of the queues (as well as when checking in and out). The gym is well stocked and the pool area is pleasant although the pool is a little small. The food is good all round. It is conveniently located next to the giant malls of Makati where there is plenty to eat and shop! I enjoyed our stay and would stay again. The lobby is lovely.

reubenferrerThe hotel is a pleasant surprise in the heart of Makati. The hotel facilities are very clean and the lobby is very welcoming. Breakfast in the morning is also very filling (albeit not a buffet breakfast offering). Internet connection at this hotel leaves much to be desired. If you are on a work trip, do not count on being able to do a work call in your room.

mariascapesLocation wise, it is the best! There wwre hiccups where in (1) there were drillings at the next door room and I must say it was loud (2) there were issues on the toilet I had to fix it myself.
Pro: location.

It's such an old place, but the location is ok. Unfortunately the lift didn't work and it was manually operated (in a good efficient way but still quite slow to go up and down).
Being abto to open the window in one of the highest floor, and look down, seems quite unsafe especially if there are kids around (but I want to believe people with kids are not given this room).
The bathroom had some sewage smell coming from toilet.
Good bed and decent shower. Good AC
2000 php deposit seems too high and unnecessary
Staff was friendly

The price is affordable, rooms are clean enough, and people are friendly. Also, it is convenient to travel to all destinations, equally close.
However, there's only one hairdryer in the building, which makes it super inconvenient, and no slippers are provided. Another concern would be safety, Pasay city is more local, you can experience authentic lifestyle, but there are risks of getting into trouble I think.
All in all, after living 3 days there, I would still recommend travelers this hotel.
