"Hygiene: The toilet had a backflow odor. Closing the toilet door and turning on the exhaust fan didn't help (though the fan made noise).
The layout was strange; the shoe rack and disposable slippers were in the innermost wardrobe, not by the entrance.
The water dispenser filter might not have been changed on time, as the water from it had a taste.
The water pressure was excellent.
The lobby's air conditioning was stronger than in the room."
"This hotel is perfectly located, just a 3-minute walk from my friend's shop and very close to the MRT station. The rooms are incredibly clean and the facilities are brand new. Plus, the price is really affordable. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Kaohsiung!"
"The Hsiang-Chi Hotel (驳二旅馆) boasts an excellent location, just a convenient 5-minute walk from Yanchengpu MRT Station exits 1 and 4. Turning left from the hotel entrance brings you to the Pier-2 Art Center and attractions near Dagang Bridge. You can also catch the light rail to Hamasen or take a ferry to Cijin Island for some sightseeing. Nearby, you'll find conveniences like Cosmed, Watsons, 7-Eleven, and a variety of international restaurants. On level B1, there's a game room and a laundry room; washing machines are free to use, but the dryer costs about 50 NTD for 45 minutes. The 2nd-floor common area offers popcorn and complimentary tea and coffee starting at 3 PM, and you can even order takeout to enjoy there. Breakfast is delicious, with a different selection of dishes rotated daily."
"The service was great, and the facilities were decent, though a bit dated. The location is good, close to the night market and the metro. However, shortly after lying down, I discovered a huge cockroach crawling on the headboard – I've never seen one that big! I called staff, and they came with insecticide to kill and remove it, but it really left me with a lasting impression."
"Great location, 2 minutes walk away from the pier 2. The culture shops in warehouses are 1 minutes away. It is also right next to the international music center with beautiful architecture, as well as a park around. Light rails and bus stops are also close by. Great trail along the water way. The rotating bridge, the longest in Aisa rotates every day 3pm SHARP, is right in sight. Plenty restaurants and shops on the other side of the water way across the bridge. Many noodle shops (at least 3) as well as convenient stores are within walking distance. The hotel room is relatively small, but cozy. It is clean and has good layout inside. The room has a good view of the street. The hotel staff are also friendly, quite accessible and helpful, with one exception when one of the days it ran out of tooth paste, which is unreasonably expensive if you had to buy one in OK shop right next to the hotel. The hotel provides a coffee machine with free ground coffee, very convenient if you want to grab a cup of Americano or cappocciino in the morning right out of the bed. The hotel also provides laundry facilities in the basement with a washer and a dryer, even though the capacity is way over the amount of worn clothes in several days. Had wished the hotel had a simple gym, well, I guess I have to do without this time. Overall it has been a good staying experience."
"The location is fantastic, not far from the subway station, with plenty of food options nearby. The Love River is right next door, perfect for a stroll. The hotel lobby is comfortable, and there's a wide variety of breakfast choices. The only minor drawback is the limited parking, but there are many parking lots nearby, and the hotel offers a NT$100 subsidy."
"I recently stayed at the Mood Island Yancheng branch. The location is really convenient. The TV wasn't working, so I informed the front desk, and the staff went above and beyond to fix the issue. While there's no on-site parking, there are plenty of street parking spaces nearby and a parking lot close by. Plus, there's a Pxmart right next door, so no worries about stocking up on snacks and instant noodles!"
"There were a few issues during my stay that I feel are worth mentioning for future guests.
Before arrival, I received a very large number of automated messages from the hotel in a short space of time. Unfortunately, some of the information provided was inconsistent - including one message containing a different and incorrect address shortly after the original check-in information was sent. There were also conflicting details regarding the WiFi password. While these may seem minor individually, receiving repeated messages with inaccurate information became confusing rather than helpful.
If you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, I would also be cautious when booking here. Despite the property stating that smoking is not permitted, there was a noticeable smell of smoke throughout the accommodation during my stay.
One thing I would strongly encourage the hotel to reconsider is placing guests’ full legal names visibly on room doors. While intended as a welcoming gesture, as a solo female traveller I personally did not feel comfortable having my full name publicly displayed where other guests could easily see it.
The electronic door handle to my room also felt quite loose and unstable, which was slightly concerning from a security perspective.
In terms of cleanliness, the property did not appear quite as polished as the listing photos suggest. There were visible smudges on windows, along with marks and general wear throughout the room.
On a positive note, the bedding and towels were clean and fresh-smelling, which I appreciated."
"The hotel is strategically located at yancheng district with 10min walk to nearest MRT station. There are many eateries around (behind the streets) for breakfast and lunch (maybe less of dinner choice). The only downside is the air condition control in the room where it was a bit difficult to change to the right temperature intended."
"Clean, reasonably priced, and the friendly and attentive service from the receptionist made for a pleasant experience. The room rate was also reasonable for a holiday trip. For those only staying overnight in a suite, it's excellent value for money and highly recommended. No parking available; it's suggested to find a street parking space nearby."

Excellent
PpohkThis was my third stay at this hotel since its grand opening. I visit Kaohsiung about every six months, and overall the experience has been consistently pleasant. The facilities are well designed and maintained , and the staff are friendly and professional
.
There was one issue during this stay—the shower drainage was clogged, so I had to use the bathtub instead. This is something that ideally shouldn’t happen at all, but the hotel’s response was okay. They came to fix it next morning as it was late.
The soundproofing and AC are excellent. I especially enjoyed the hot spring and the gym, both of which are well equipped and relaxing. I didn’t include the buffet breakfast this time, as I preferred grabbing local drinks, buns, and snacks from the 7‑Eleven or FamilyMart just across the street as well as leaving room for lunch later.
The desserts at the lobby café were delightful, and the Japanese restaurant was absolutely divine. It’s just a pity that I didn’t know the omakase needs to be pre-booked. The restaurant doesn’t reserve seats for hotel guests or ask about this in advance, which was a bit disappointing. The set menu was very nice.
Overall, it’s still a hotel I enjoy staying.
RRJHL5Great location less than 20 minutes from KHH airport. It is within 8 minutes walking distance from SOGO for those who love to shop department stores.
There are 7-11s ( more than one!) Family Marts and a PX Mart (grocery store) along each road. Very convenient.
The drinks at 7-11 will be cheaper priced than Family Mart and PX Mart and sometimes they will have a BOGO on select items ( I got an extra baby wipe pack by sheer luck).
The Family Mart will have more unique items (ex Kombucha, health teas etc). The food selection for both places will be a bit limited for grab and go eats. Think sweet pastries and snacks. They do have some sandwiches but not super healthy if you are vegetarian.
The hotel has complementary breakfast that starts at 6:30am ends at 10am. It is a buffet the fills up the entire room. There is a wonderful mix of local foods, one Western style pot.
There is a small salad bar, fruit bar, coffee/tea and a small short order cook that will fry up 4 items (eggs, scallion onion omelette, turnip cakes). There is an other side has at least 10 varieties of local foods.
The quality is great! Not too oily, 2 congee pots ( regular and Hong Kong Style). Fruits include what is season (Guava, apples, watermelon) and oranges, bananas.
I will warn you about the late night snack (Dim Sum) buffet. Located on same floor and it starts at 7pm. That is a busy mad house. The line to queue up starts earlier and it will go down the hall to the stairwell.
Lots of tour buses come to this location and tour groups will flood in each week during season. I went during early April for 9 days.
I would go to breakfast at 8 am and skipped the nighttime crush. Restaurants are readily available all around and very affordable.
This hotel comes with complimentary laundry DIY and laundry powder soap. Make sure you write your room number on the dry erase placard and stick it on each machine you use. Otherwise another guest may accidentally throw their items in and use the machine. The dryers are on top so hard to see what’s on the bottom.
There is a free lounge in the lobby that has complimentary ice cream, coffee/tea and jasmine flavored gelatin cups. You can sit there all day if you like and sip on a free espresso or other drink.
This hotel comes with a lot of amenities at a reasonable rate— I will stay here again next time.
KKatherine PeiExcellent hotel! The rooms are spacious, and the bed was really comfortable. The soundproofing was decent. The breakfast was fantastic – you can choose from a menu, plus there's a buffet, and they even have Haagen-Dazs ice cream. They also provide complimentary drinks and snacks in the room, which was a very thoughtful touch.
NNicethorWe were extremely impressed with our stay at this hotel! We absolutely loved the unlimited snacks available throughout the day, including coffee, tea, junk foods, and especially the ice cream. One of the highlights of our stay was the complimentary 24-hour laundry service, which was very convenient and added great value to our experience. The breakfast buffet exceeded our expectations with its wide variety of delicious dishes. Our room was clean, comfortable, and relaxing, providing the perfect place to unwind after a long day. The hotel's location was also excellent and convenient for exploring the area. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and outstanding amenities. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
GGuest UserThis hotel is right at the intersection in front of Kaohsiung Main Station, so the location is absolutely fantastic, and transportation is super convenient! You can leave your luggage before check-in, which is incredibly helpful for travelers from out of town.
The front desk staff's explanation was very clear and easy to understand. We checked in just as the afternoon tea service was ending, and I really appreciate that the staff allowed us to enjoy the items in those last few minutes – thank you! 👍 The breakfast offers three main courses to choose from, and they were all incredibly delicious. There's also a wide variety of snacks and options for breakfast; it was so good we didn't want to leave. The room comfort is excellent, and everything is super clean and tidy. When you turn on the TV, there's even a special welcome message thanking you for staying, which made us feel really happy. We will definitely choose to stay at JOHO again when we come to Kaohsiung! 👍
TTravel ChilledI booked this hotel because of next day flight. However, this hotel still needs to be access by taxi.
Hotel is quiet, room is clean. 2 Water bottles are avb.
Theres no facilities avb in this hotel except breakfast and almost all day coffee/tea and chips/biscuits (forgot the exact time). Nevertheless, the breakfast is really below so so, all food is not warm at all and limited choices. We finally went to Starbucks across the street.
AAnonymous UserThe location is very convenient, as it is very close to the MRT, making it easy to travel around
The room was spacious, clean, and well equipped with amenities such as a hair dryer, towels, soap, and shampoo, which made the stay very comfortable
We were also pleasantly surprised to find a large onsen style bathtub in the bathroom, which made the stay even more relaxing
However, guests need to bring their own toothpaste and toothbrush. The staff were very friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better🫰🏻❤️
GGuest UserHotel is relative clean. Stayed in a single room with a semi double bed. Size is decent but didn’t realised it was behind the lifts, could hear the lift moving through out the day.
The shower head position is pretty bad. It’s not on an angle it’s pretty much like spraying directly into your body. It would be great if they could address this.
It’s 15 mins walk from the metro station so not closed.
Also there was a cockroach in the bathroom. Crawled out of the drain
MMiss BeanEasy to find the location. The owner were very understanding and kind since we arrived almost late from the check in time, they speak english. The view were so beautiful especially at night. There is an in-house police in the building as well as 711 convenience store. And outside there are lots of convenience store to be found. The train station is very near too. And also the elavator is very spacious.
GGuest UserSingle’s Inn was a functional and reasonably priced stay for three nights. The location is one of its strongest advantages: the inn is around a ten-minute walk from the main station, where buses, local railway services, bus stations, and the metro are all easily accessible. Breakfast and a small hot pool is included, and guests are provided with pyjamas, slippers, one regular towel, and one smaller towel. The inn also has a laundry room and a common room. The staff were able to communicate in both Mandarin and English. Overall, the inn offers the type of experience one might reasonably expect at this price point: basic, convenient, and sufficient for a short stay.
The main limitation is sound insulation. The walls and doors are very thin, and I could hear people in nearby rooms coughing, talking, and snoring. Noise from the corridor was also noticeable, including doors opening and closing, people walking in slippers, and general movement. Sounds from the washroom, especially hair dryers and doors being opened or closed, were also easy to hear from the room. The hair dryer in the women’s area worked well, but became a recurring noise issue in combination with poor soundproofing.
Overall, Single’s Inn worked adequately for a short stay, especially due to its proximity to transportation and the inclusion of breakfast and basic amenities. However, I would not personally stay here for more than two nights, particularly as someone sensitive to noise.
