"The experience has been very positive; it was our first time staying here, and we found it comfortable, with spacious rooms, everything very clean, and the staff very friendly."
"Location is super convenient for a short stay in Bilbao since it’s right above the terminal bus station for airport bus. It’s a nice walk over to Guggenheim museum as well as many places to eat/drink. I only stayed one night and because it was so hot mid day I just explored the surrounding area early in the evening. Wish the hotel of this size had a pool though. They gave me a great room by end of the hallway which was perfect for quiet rest. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, shower was great, overall perfect one night stay."
"The hotel is quite new overall. Check-in is strictly from 4 PM, but you can leave your luggage in the adjacent student dormitory building (up a small hill 😃).
Unfortunately, the room didn't have a kettle or cups, only glass tumblers. There was just one frying pan and one pot.
All other amenities were excellent. The gym is quite spacious and well-equipped for a hotel."
"Ideal stay for Bilbao city centre , close to all sights and restaurants / bars
We parked our car in the nearby Arenal parking lot as recommended by the hotel. Small discount for residents"
"Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It was clean and quiet – perfect for a night's rest. My room was on the first floor, very small, but had everything I needed for a good night's sleep. I was a bit surprised by the absence of a hairdryer and shampoo, so keep that in mind. I usually don't bring toiletries with me. Although, for a 'budget' status, I'd say it was quite expensive (I paid €111 + €9.5 for breakfast). Breakfast was decent, enough to fill you up, but there were no vegetables at all, only fruit. By the way, there's an excellent pastry shop across the street for those who don't necessarily want to have breakfast at the hotel. Personally, I like to have breakfast on-site, then get ready for the day. The hotel staff were very nice, spoke English, and explained everything. You can leave your luggage in storage for free after check-out, which was a pleasant surprise since my bus was at night. The location is good; I chose it for its proximity to the bus station. Public transport, bars, coffee shops are nearby, and all attractions are within walking distance. I liked it! Thank you!"
"The room, while not large, was clean. The hotel's location is excellent, making it easy to walk to nearby attractions. However, the air conditioning only allowed for fan speed adjustment; sometimes it wasn't cool enough, and the temperature couldn't be controlled."
"Отель расположен не самом центре. До музея Гугенхайма пешком минут 10, до старого города 25. В первый день шел сильный дождь и нас протек потолок. Нам сразу поменяли номер, причем на улучшенный. Очень хорошие завтраки."
"Everything was perfect, especially considering it was one of the cheapest options available. The hotel offered great value for money, with clean rooms and good service. It is located a little distance from the city centre, bus station, and train station, but it was still manageable and worth it for the price. Overall, a very good stay and I would recommend it for budget travelers. ⭐👍"
"The hotel staff were incredibly kind and friendly, and we felt very well taken care of. The interior design is also stylish and high-quality. However, the bathroom is transparent, which might make some guests uncomfortable. Also, the toilet is wall-mounted, which could feel a bit unstable for larger individuals.
Upon check-in, we were given chocolates, and there were small cookies next to the coffee cups, which was a very thoughtful touch."
"Overall good experience, good stay, good price, good sized room. Location was good. Beds were comfortable and not too small. Room was basic but we knew that going in. There was a microwave wave and fridge. It took us a while to figure out the air conditioning but it worked. There wasn’t soap in the bathroom. Some issues were that it being a dorm it didn’t have things that you would find in a hotel room like a blow dryer or cups. So we could heat water in microwave but we had to buy cups to hold the water in. If we had access to a kettle or a blow dryer or mugs, even paying to rent one would have made things easier. The laundry room did not accept coins so we had to download an app to wash our chonies. I’m not sure giving some app my credit info to be able to clean my chonies was worth it."

Great
JJimmy _ValenciaWhat a great hotel! Across the board we were blown away by how perfect this hotel made our stay.
The staff - ALWAYS helpful and fun and professional.
The room - Beautiful, large double bed for us was more than adequate and a large room.
Bathroom - Great size and LARGE tub and shower with TONS of water pressure.
Location - Bilbao is one of the most walkable cities, but the hotel is right at the edge of the river so 10 min to Guggenheim and 5 min to the old town.
Breakfast - We had breakfast a couple times and the beans and eggs were my staple. The eggs were off the first visit, but the second visit they were much better. Bacon and pastries were tasty and the cream cheese with herbs was a treat.
We will be back for sure. You won't be disappointed by staying here.
SSimon⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Location, Cozy Room—Watch the Bed!
Vicci Consulado de Bilbao has a fantastic location—right in the heart of the city, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and public transport. It’s perfect for exploring Bilbao on foot.
The room itself was stylish and clean, though quite compact. If you’re traveling light, it’s fine, but space is definitely tight. One funny (and slightly painful) moment: I actually fell off the bed! It’s positioned close to the wall and a bit narrow, so maybe not ideal if you toss and turn at night.
Despite that, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall vibe of the hotel was modern and welcoming. I’d recommend it for solo travelers or couples who don’t mind a snug space and want to be in the middle of the action.

Review:
1. Very cold room and bathroom. The room and especially the bathroom were extremely cold. When the air conditioner is turned on for heating, it blows directly onto the heads of people sleeping in the bed, making it uncomfortable and difficult to breathe.
2. Very noisy. The room faces a busy street. People were talking and making noise outside throughout the night. The sound insulation is very poor.
3. Extremely small room. The room is clearly designed for one person (this is even indicated on the hotel’s floor plan), but we were accommodated there as two guests. There is almost no space to place luggage or personal belongings. The bathroom also has no shelves at all.
4. Uncomfortable toilet placement. The toilet is positioned in such a way that it can only be used diagonally, which I consider completely unacceptable.
5. Missing desk shown in photos. The room photos showed a writing desk, but it was not actually present. We had to spend time requesting and arranging for a desk to be brought to the room, as it was necessary for work.
6. Parking information is misleading. The hotel description states that parking is available, but in reality it is about a 15-minute walk away. This is very inconvenient when traveling with luggage. We only discovered this upon arrival. This information was not communicated in advance. There is also nowhere near the hotel to stop even for 5 minutes to unload luggage. Additionally, there is no reception desk at the hotel, so it is difficult to quickly ask for assistance.
GGabe goes globalBeautiful hotel, amazing facilities to work from, one of the best gyms that I’ve been to, it would have been so much more seamless if parking, gym etc were included in the price. Especially if the pool provided by the gym is not available, not having to pay for the gym one would make more sense
HHosanChoose the hotel for its proximity to the Intermodal bus interchange. We walked to all the main tourist attractions from the hotel. Bilbao is a very walkable city.
What sets this hotel apart is the friendliness of the staff. The front counter team is genuinely friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Noemi who went out of her way to help us and gave advice on airline lost luggage.
The room is spacious for our needs. The king bed is super comfortable, with just the right firmness. Linen is plush and pillows are fluffy. It has a simple yet functional tea-making facility in the room. The room came with USB charger by bedside, which is essential for today's travellers.
We love the bathroom. Well-lit, full-size shower with strong water pressure. You will find the basic amenities (Toothbrush etc) in the bathroom.
The cleaner did a good job with the room. The hall and public areas are all spotless. Judging based on the interior, the hotel might have been refurbished not that long ago.
GGuest UserThe lady at the front desk was very friendly and enthusiastic when we checked in, asking if we needed a map and briefly explaining the surrounding routes.
The water pressure in the bathroom was a bit low, and switching between the showerhead settings required some guesswork.
Breakfast had a decent variety of choices.
It's only about a ten-minute walk from the Guggenheim Museum and the airport bus stop. It would have been better if they had provided information about the airport bus service being suspended on May 1st, as we checked out on Labor Day and waited at the bus stop for over half an hour for nothing.
GGuest UserAmazing boutique hotel in the heart of the old town with a fantastic coffee shop on the ground floor.Rooms were modern and comfortable, great value
GGuest UserA True Gem That Feels Like a 4-Star Hotel! My stay at the Sercotel Arenal Bilbao was flawless. The hotel is absolutely spotless, with lovely decor and beautiful views from the room. The entire hotel, from the elegant lobby to my room, was spotless. It was clear that the housekeeping team takes immense pride in their work, ensuring a pristine and hygienic environment that immediately made me feel at ease. The reception staff provided excellent, warm service. The breakfast was perfect—not too big, not too small, but just the right selection for an amazing start to the day. The management is clearly doing a fantastic job. With this level of quality and attention to detail, this hotel truly operates like a four-star property. I can't wait to return.
SshekhawatiThe room is quite tall, but the bed design is unreasonable; the lower bunk is too low, about 30 centimeters off the ground, making it easy to bump your head.
The location is okay, close to the train station, next to a large market, in the old town, near the river, but far from the bus station.
