Very comfortable hotel , rooms have everything one would need. Only took off one star in amenities as staffing level at the bar and breakfast service was utterly insufficient for the number of guests. The staff themselves were very pleasant and helpful so not their issue . Management of staff Rita’s need improvement

Unexpectedly, the room was incredibly spacious and spotless, and the bed was very comfortable. The only peculiar thing was that the heating seemed to turn on and off based on movement, which made it a bit cold in the mornings.

The hotel is very good. Although the building is old, it doesn't feel old. It feels rich and historical. The murals on the corridors show the glory of the past. The bed in the suite was very comfortable, and the sofa turned into a bed for the children to sleep well. The breakfast was great. In general, Scotland was cold enough to make people feel safe and warm.

Very basic but thats what you pay for (or no aptly dont), limited in room facilities no kettle, no hairdryers. It wqs quiet and being above a carpark makes for a handy stop if travelling through. Staff at front desk were freindly but the place is quite rough outside the rooms particularly downstairs is all under renovation and only one lift in service was quite frustrating. If you need cheap this was alright, if you can afford more i would probably not return.

The room offers a view of a giant mural. Downstairs, there's an outdoor restaurant, but the soundproofing is good, so it's not noisy at all. It's very close to the subway station and supermarket, and only a 5-6 minute walk to the train station. The room comes with a microwave and a fridge, and there's plenty of hot water. The air circulation system is also adequate.

Much more basic than expected. Bed was made up of two singles which barely stayed together through the night. Tea and coffee facilities were poor as were the toiletries. Not worth the price at all. Breakfast at £14 per head was totally overpriced. Food was luke warm and very bland. Will not be back.

Very comfortable stay. Great choice at breakfast and very helpful staff. Bit unsure about the glass door to the en-suite bathroom as it reduces privacy and resulted in the room being lit up at night when the bathroom light was on. Great location for the Ovo Hydro venue. About 1.5 miles into the city but easily walkable.

Absolutely amazing hotel. We got it at a time when rates were cheap so it was so worth the money. The pool and sauna were great and we were allowed to use it after check out too. Reception staff were always helpful. Good view from the window too of the river.
Originally built in the 1800s as one of the city’s very first power stations, a building that lit the path for Glasgow’s development, the Hotel Indigo® Glasgow hotel today puts you close to a new kind of buzz—local cuisine, world-class shopping, museums, historic theatres and sporting events. Our hotel’s design mixes Victorian architecture, high ceilings, and original brown brick with modern comfort. Murals by local artists line the walls, while our restaurant serves local dishes prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. It’s a great place to chat over a brew and look for the famous local Glaswegians depicted in the mural above diners’ heads.

Lovely experience from start to finish, the oversized coffee mugs was a great touch, thank you for that ☺️ and I got to see possibly the most unique sight just round the corner, pictured, as for the lobby and the hotel, a mix of modern, art deco and comfy seating downstairs.
Be warned the bed was HUGE!!! I could fit 3 full size pillows across, so no danger of falling out for me ☺️
I will be going back 👍

Great
GGuest UserThe hotel was lovely, I was a bit put off by the reception staff who spoke to me via computer screens. They never looked at me when asking questions I personally feel this is rude. However they were able to store bags for us until we could check in. The pool is lovely not overly big and there was lessons going on but for a quick dip it’s fine. The hot tub is tiny even with 3 adults in it we were touching knees so that felt a-bit awkward sharing with strangers. Gym was fantastic. Was very impressed
Room was lovely very spacious we had a twin room first time I slept in a single bed since a child so not overly comfortable. Bathroom clean and massive bath which was great, our room did not have a window that could be opened but a fan was placed in our room, it didn’t work but after notifying cleaning staff they quickly replaced it.
Breakfast was good just what you would expect. From a buffet breakfast and we were seated very quickly both mornings. There was water machines on our floor and reception which we used regularly and we appreciated that touch.
Over all it was a good and I would stay again. The red and yellow hop on hope off bus stop is just around the corner also so handy if wanting to sightsee.
GGuest UserOverall, the experience exceeded my expectations. The room was spacious, and all the facilities were brand new. Housekeeping cleaned daily, and there's a gym and a bar downstairs – the environment is simply fantastic.
However, there were two minor issues. First, I requested ”no corner room” in my booking notes, but the front desk still assigned me an end room on the fourth floor. While this was a bit uncomfortable, I did notice during booking that special requests require direct communication with the hotel, and I decided not to bother, so I can accept this.
The second small issue was with the facilities. The room had a window, but it couldn't be opened. I suspect this might only be the case for end rooms, and other rooms might be normal. The booking interface stated ”inquire with the hotel about windows,” and again, I didn't follow up, so I accept this minor inconvenience. It would be even better if these two aspects could be improved.
Overall, my stay was quite good. Of course, the final experience varies from person to person, so this is just for reference.
VvicchenggWe enjoyed our stay at the Maldron and felt it was great value overall. The location was perfect. Everything was within walking distance but also slightly away from the main high street so it was nice and peaceful at night. There were also loads of excellent restaurants and coffee shops within a few hundred meters of the hotel, offering loads of cuisine choices. The staff were very helpful and friendly. When we arrived, I realised I had accidentally booked one of our rooms as a double room when we needed a twin. After just a quick call to reception the staff found us a twin room within minutes, and were even mindful of keeping our families on the same floor for convenience which we hugely appreciated. The rooms themselves were very clean, modern and spacious enough for the two of us and our suitcases. The sound proofing was pretty decent too, and there was minimal noise from the corridor/outside apart from a few doors banging in the morning as guests left. Other highlights include: a very good shower where you can switch between a rainfall + handheld head, plugs on both sides of the bed (an essential these days!) and a comfortable bed. The TV system is a little dated in my opinion, however it does allow casting which was a bonus. Overall, I'd highly recommend this hotel for a mid-low budget stay.
RRRosssWe stayed at Sandman for its proximity to Hydro for a concert. In that regard the location was good, an easy 20 minute walk. Glasgow is super hilly so be aware if you’re walking anywhere. The hotel was very good, excellent breakfast, superb nice staff. Clean rooms, fit my family of 4 well enough!
GGuest UserThe air conditioning was a bit tricky; it kept blowing cold air at first. It took a while following the instructions to finally get it to blow hot air. I guess most three-star hotels are similar. There were hairs on the sheets, and the room was small because it had no window. However, the location is excellent, very close to the train station, bus stop, and city center. It's fine for a night or two.
GGuest UserBasic hotel but in an ideal location short walk to Sauchihall Street, great restaurants close by. Antipasti if you like Italian. Sichuan house, brilliant Chinese restaurant.
The staff at the hotel were very helpful. Free WiFi also a free drink from the bar. We didn't have breakfast we went out to eat but there is breakfast for an extra £12 per day if you prefer.
MMinimeet2233Great location, super close to city centre and very convenient. Staff members are always helpful and super friendly. On my final night there was a storm in Scotland and staff was super helpful with trying to see if they can book me for one extra night just in case if trains don’t run the next day :) really happy with the service. Breakfast has good selection!
Room is okay, the AC seemed a bit old and broken but still works, temperature in the room is fine!
AAnonymous UserI liked the room which was very spacious, clean and the bed comfortable.
The staff were nice and helpful.
The hotel is very well located.
I think the breakfast needs improvement but this is really the only small concern
BBee HoonWe stayed during Christmas season and there was a Xmas market next door. The hotel is spacious and all the necessary facilities, including kitchen and washing machine are provided.
GGuest UserHave stayed at this place a few times now over many years. Great location, staff friendly. However comparing it to our other visits to (The Ponds) Leonardo we had a few niggles. Most of these concerned the bathroom. Firstly, when turning tap towards cold, the water came out like an explosion. We can only assume that it was some sort of air lock. The bathroom was very tired looking. The ceiling looked awful, like mould and the seal around the bath needed redoing. Lots of black mould, due to no ventilation. We knew beforehand there was no air-con, however the temperature was unbelievably hot. One of the lifts was out of order for all of our stay. The other lift was incredibly slow when called.
