A short drive out of the city and heading towards Sumner, Redcliffs is a small village with shops and cafes. If you like hill walking there are countless options from the house without needing to use the car. You could also walk down the hill and explore the beach at Sumner and it's cafes and restaurants. If you are here on the weekend there is the Lyttelton market or the Mt Pleasant market a short drive away. There are two sailing clubs close by and the opportunity to enjoy all the watersports you can think of. However maybe you prefer sitting on the deck with a glass of wine and admiring the sunset, or doing the same down on the beach! The choice is yours..Special conditions: No loud parties or visitors coming and going late at night. This is a quiet neighbourhood.The kitchen is only a kitchenette and not suitable for cooking dinners, perfectly adequate for breakfast and light meals. Gas barbeque outside with cooking element on the side. No cleaning fees! This sunny warm home is only 7 years old & right on the Coastal walkway. This is a smaller, sunlit open plan modern & fun home.. A 30 second walk takes you to a small reserve with seating right on the ocean. Located in a quiet garden setting, & with large bifold doors opening onto a sun drenched deck.. Across the road is local shops & cafeśA short 20min walk (3mins by car) takes you to Sumner surf beach, cinema’s & more cafes & wonderful restaurants. GGuest UserThe location is super strategic and convenient, just a few walking steps to airport, bus station to Christchurch city and place to pick up & drop off our car rental. Their receptionists are very polite and always put a big smile when we approached them. We arrived the hotel in the earlier morning and went for city walk before check in. They helped us put all our luggages inside our room before we back and a little “kiwi” soft toy was surprised for my little kid. Highly recommend!!!

GGuest UserThis is a fantastic hotel. Due to flight issues, I checked in late at night, but the lobby was incredibly warm and comfortable, with a beautiful and pleasant atmosphere. The environment is truly outstanding. It faces a large park, offering lovely views, and the transportation is convenient as it's right in the city center and very close to the airport. The lobby fireplace was cozy, and the front desk staff were incredibly welcoming, treating guests like family. The room was very clean and tidy, hygienic, and comfortable. It was spacious, and the bedding was excellent – clean and very comfortable to use. The bathroom was great, and the room overall was very spacious, neat, bright, and grand. Everything felt relatively new. I would definitely stay here again next time. It offers great value for money.

GGuest UserIt was pretty good, though the location isn't ideal. It took us about 20-30 minutes to walk from the train station. Getting to the airport required a taxi, which was easy to hail. What stood out to me was the dryer – the room had an individual one that worked really well. On our second stay, we got a combo washer/dryer in the same room type, and that wasn't as good. So, if you need laundry facilities, try to get a room with a separate dryer. I didn't have breakfast. Check-in at the front desk was smooth and quick. The room was quite clean and hygienic. It's a new hotel with large, bright windows. The price wasn't too expensive, I remember paying around 700-800 RMB a night, even in the peak season of January. That might be because I had pre-purchased a package voucher. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it; it's good value for money. I didn't take any pictures of the room.

The parking entrance was a little hard to find; you have to drive onto the sidewalk first, and parking comes with an additional charge. The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the cathedral and just a short walk to the main shopping street.

AAnonymous UserEvery single front desk staff member was lovely! ^_^ You'll need a credit card deposit or NZD 100 cash deposit at check-in (remember to retrieve it at check-out). A heads-up: the standard suite I booked doesn't have air conditioning. If you get hot easily, you'll need to book a deluxe room for AC. However, no worries in winter, as there are plenty of heaters, and the room was very warm. If you do get hot, you can ask the front desk for an electric fan, or simply enjoy the breeze on the balcony – that was enough for me. There's a kitchen with pots, pans, and all the cooking utensils you'd need. It's a two-bedroom suite (no windows in the bedrooms), with one bathroom accessible from both sides (and lockable) shared between the rooms. The hotel location is also quite convenient; there are supermarkets, restaurants, and shops within a 10-15 minute walk. P.S. There's a family playground nearby with a free zipline, slides, and climbing frames – definitely go check it out, it's great fun! All in all, this place is really good!!

GGuest UserThe location is excellent. Following the hotel's directions, it's only a 10-minute walk, a route you won't find on Google Maps. There's a large supermarket and several restaurants nearby, which is very convenient. The bathroom in my room type didn't have an exhaust fan, so there was a constant damp smell. The common area is spacious, and the kitchen is well-equipped, but I strongly recommend bringing your own cutlery for hygiene reasons. The public cutlery is washed by guests themselves, and on the day I was there, several dirty dishes were left in the sink, and some tabletops weren't wiped clean after use, making the kitchen look untidy. Overall, it's a good place for a short stay, especially if you're catching a flight.

AAnonymous UserLocation is very good, close to everywhere! Walking distance to city centre, restaurants, Riverside Market and Botanical Gardens. Very near to bus stop to Airport, bus no. 8. It’s convenience to have kitchens and lounge here. King room ensuite is a perfect and spacious room with attached bathroom and private balcony! Will sure come back again!

GGuest UserMy friends and I had a great stay at The Bealey Quarter! The motel is situated in Christchurch City, allowing easy access to the tourist sites, whether you're travelling on foot, by car, or by public transport. There are plenty of buses and metro buses that frequently stop right near the accommodation as well!
The staff were very friendly. We had a late flight (that got delayed even later) and ended up having to check in after hours. They were very accommodating with this, and similarly, when we asked for new towels, we received them immediately. Similarly, they were kind enough to allow us to put our luggage in their reception office whilst we went to collect our rental car on the day that we checked out. My only issue is that I had to contact them a few times before I received the late check-in details.
The facilities were lovely. and very clean! The bathroom was private with a shower with good pressure and hot water. The bench and the toilet were a little high, which we were surprised by, but this wasn't a major issue at all! My only recommendation would be to add a ventilation fan to the bathroom, as although there is an open window above the sink, ventilation was still not ideal. The room came with a heater, a really good fan, and very comfy blankets and duvets. We were also provided with glasses and mugs, a selection of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, a hair dryer, a bin, a little cupboard, desk, chair, and even a bench where our suitcases fit really well. The view of the courtyard was beautiful despite the somewhat miserable weather, and access to the courtyard via the back door meant we could use the hammocks in the nice grassy area :) The back door was a bit tough to open, and we had to actually get the staff to show us how to use it. My only other qualm is that there is no potable water in the rooms themselves. Instead, our keycard allows us to the Lodge (I believe the hostel area), where there's a kitchen and we can fill up.
Overall, we had a great experience here and I definitely recommend the Bealey Quarter to anyone coming to Christchurch. It was so affordable too :))
