"Our flight arrived late, so we didn't check in until 3 AM. What was great was that there were still two front desk staff members working at that hour, which really sped things up, especially since a lot of passengers from our flight were staying there. Seeing my sleepy son, they even gave him a penguin plush toy, which he absolutely loved and hugged all night. They also told us we could check out at 12 PM instead of the usual 11 AM, which I found very thoughtful. The hotel is at most 200 meters from the international arrivals gate, with a covered walkway, making it incredibly convenient to just walk over and sleep right after getting off the plane. Plus, there's a supermarket and The Coffee Club about 300 meters away, perfect for stocking up on supplies after picking up your rental car. Additionally, the hotel price was very affordable."

"The hotel is really old and needs a full renovation. The building’s ground floor houses a few standalone restaurants and the hotel rooms are above. The room’s carpet and cushioned chairs look like they have not been cleaned for ages. The toilet has an unpleasant smell and the beds gave us backache the following morning. The only positive note is its location, close to the Botanic Gardens and Ricarton shopping district."

"It started off pretty well but it went south Very quick. The owners are so intrusive, they watch the camp on the cameras from home and call the staff in the office to patrol the area. It’s crazy to have a camp ground where they expect you to have eyes on your children 100% of the time aka 24/7. It really takes away from the holiday - I get minding your kids but they couldn’t even bike to another site (where friends were) without being pulled up or sit in the kitchen to get decent wifi without a parent present. If you are used to a somewhat free range parenting style this camp is not it."
